Forever Rain

Over the next couple days the sky rained down on the castle and surrounding villages. Lightning struck several trees engulfing them in an electrical flame that burned through the storms.

There was still no word of Kira's whereabouts or any of the gods that frequented the King's castle. Giles scout returned soaked to the bone, trembling in fear.

"Edgar, speak." Giles urged the shaking man, standing before Yoongi who appeared unamused. He found himself these days in a bitter turmoil of self-loathing.

"Slau—slaughtered." Edgar whimpered as a wave of shivers consumed his body. Yoongi glared at Giles.

"We knew this already."

Giles sighed, grasping the man's shoulders. He steered Edgar out of the throne room, shoving him out into the hall.

"Go warm up and get something to eat."

Edgar nodded, hurrying down the hall like a scolded puppy.

The smell of peach blossoms and fresh bread filled the room. A soothing warmth embracing a dreaming girl, while a witch doctor with crooked fingers, worked fervently to appease the god brooding in the corner. His bright blue eyes displayed a raging sea within. The woman knew that his rage wasn't because of anything she had been doing thus far.

Another had brought this storm upon them all and there was nothing the god of Sunshine could do about it until the god of Seas' grief subsided. They were cast into a forever rain.

Lightning struck a tree near the tiny cabin deep within the peach blossom forest.

"How is she?" His voice was a symphony of pain and regret mixed with a deep seated anger.

"She is responding well to the medicinal herbs I have placed within the wound."

"Why not use magic? That's why I came to you, Ingrid." Jimin sat up, his question lingering in the air. The witch doctor didn't answer for some time. She had hoped he would come to it on his own.

"You cannot treat a wound made by a pen with magic. It will only make it fester and then you run the risk of young Kira turning into the very beasts you despise.

Jimin ran his hand through his fluffy hair, before taking refuge in the pouring rain outside. He searched the dark skies for a sign. Something to tell him Kira would be fine.

"How is she?" A gentle sweet voice called out to him from a bunch of thistles. A subtle pink glow coming from the core.

"That witch doctor is cryptic. She won't use her magic to heal her. She's relying on medicinal herbs."

Jinx stepped out into the unforgiving rain, holding a Nymphaea Moonbeam. Carefully she handed it to Jimin.

"This may help her."

"It's just a lily." He stared at the white petals of the flower.

"Jimin... it is more than just a lily. It has hidden healing properties unknown to mankind."

Jimin frowned, everyone around him seemed to be speaking nonsense. He just needed his friend to get better. For everyone to get back to where they belong within their fate lines. A cool hand held his cheek, when he looked up, the greenest eyes stared back at him with a sincerity he felt deep in his bones.

"Trust and she'll be fine. When have you known Kira not to fight."

He smiled. Jinx was right. No one fought as hard for the things or people they loved like Kira. The only other one he could think of was Yoongi.

"Jinx... the garden. It's—"

"Finished. Yoongi lingers there now. I can feel his steady heart beat through the flowers. It calls to me."

"Why haven't you gone?"

"I had to insure my friends were okay before I returned to my love. I couldn't let your heart fade to the darkness."

Jimin sighed, looking over his shoulder at the small cabin behind him.

"Trust." Jinx faded away into the wind, her voice that of a whisper. Turning to see his friend had gone, Jimin went back inside handing Ingrid the Lily. Her face lit up at the sight of the delicate blossom.

Peace washed over the valleys, the villages, and then the Castle. The rain subsided, gray clouds dissolving into a sunset sky filled with radiant purple, orange and dark blue hues.

Yoongi stood on the balcony, looking out upon the village below. People moved about picking up debris from the relentless storm.

Guardsmen walked along the streets aiding those who needed help mending roofs or doorways. There amongst them was a woman in a white gown, her face covered with a rice hat. She seemed to draw his attention every time he gazed upon the villagers.

He just didn't want to be disappointed if he went down to find out who she was. Hoping for one person and finding someone else entirely. So he watched her from afar. The way she moved reminded him of Jinx. But Hoseok said she couldn't come near until the garden was completed.

"Always moping..." A snooty voice teased behind him. A huge gummy smile broke out on his usual stoic face when he turned around to see Kira standing in the doorway.

"Kira!" He ran to his friend, pulling her into a tight hug. She laughed, hugging him back.  Pushing her away a moment later, his face turned serious.

"What happened to you? It's been weeks!"

Kira looked crestfallen. The recollection of those treacherous days haunted her dreams. Even when she was delirious with fever, the nightmares troubled her.

"I couldn't save them. One by one the pens picked the soldiers off. Ripping them apart. I laid in the bushes pretending to be dead in hope to get a good shot at the leader."

"Leader? Who?"

"His eyes were bright like amethyst. His body that of a human in some parts."

Yoongi raised a brow.

"He was angry about the human race and gods disturbing Seulgi's fate design." Kira continued.

"Jungkook."

"He killed so many—- he nearly killed me. Had it not been for Taehyung's quick actions I would have died." She stared at the ground.

"I am not the warrior I thought—"

Yoongi stopped her from finishing her sentence.

"You are greater than the warrior you thought yourself to be."

Kira looked up at him. He simply smiled down at his right hand woman, his best friend.

"Ew save that for Jinx!" Kira punched him in the chest.

"As if I would have interest in a man woman such as yourself."

"Man-woman?" She curled her nose in disgust. "I'm offended."

"Oh, we've met before Offended. Remember, I'm
King Min Yoongi." He winked. Kira rolled her eyes.

"I am a woman." She rolled her shoulders back standing up straight. Yoongi chuckled.

"A great warrior amongst men."

Kira gave him a thumbs up.

"Glad to have you back, Kira." Yoongi squeezed her shoulder, walking towards the door.

"Where ya headed?"

"I must tend my garden."

Kira smiled, following close behind the King. Out in the garden the moon shone brightly down on the flowers. Making the stream sparkle like diamonds as it rushed along. Crickets chirped their little songs of peaceful tranquility.

"Wow..." gasped Kira, taking in the scenery. All the scents from the flowers invading her senses, bringing about a calmness like that of soothing chamomile in your late night tea.

Yoongi smiled up at the starry night, standing in the center near a trellis laced with garlands of lilacs and jasmine. He prayed it would be enough. His heart raced in anticipation for the moment he had been waiting for for so long.

"Yoongi."
