Sneak Peak Of Chapter One

Happy Catradora Day Everyone!!!!!

Enjoy!❤

Adora's eyes opened suddenly. She looked at her surroundings. Everything was in ruins. Skyscrapers and work buildings had plummeted all around her. The sky was a murky orange, filled with dust and acid laced air. Fires raised high behind some of the fallen buildings, helping bring the eerie glow to the already frightening sky. Adora peered down on herself. She had a sword in hand. It shined a bright blue. The only thing piercing through the blurriness of the sky. Her clothing was ripped and tattered. The turtleneck she wore was dirty to the point where it had turned a dusty brown instead of its usual bright white. The red jacket she wore had the same effect as her shirt. Tattered, and stained a blood like burgundy. Adora could feel her blonde locks no longer in their usual ponytail. Instead flowing free in the forceful winds of the unknown land. A few strands flew in her face but that wasn't her main focus at the moment.

She didn't know where she was. Adora had no clue what she was doing in this hell hole of a place. She didn't recognize anything. Nothing was familiar. Well, until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She spun around immediately, instinctively holding up her sword in a defensive manner, only to lower it when she saw who it was. The crazy thing was, she didn't know the shorter woman in front of her. Yet every bone in her body told her she did. The woman had tan skin, freckles littered her cheeks and nose. Her dark brown hair hung in a ponytail like Adora's usually did. But the part that drew Adora's attention the most, was the red, cat shaped headpiece that sat just above her soft looking ears. It transfixed the blonde in such a way that she didn't notice the strange woman's clawed hand reach up to her cheek, slowly lowering the blonde's gaze straight into her piercing bright eyes. Her hand was so soft, so familiar to Adora. Yet the feeling was so unknown, so new to the blonde. Despite that, Adora let the woman continue her actions. Letting the brunette bring their faces closer and closer together until their lips were only a centimeter away from each other. Adora's hands, which had been sitting by her sides awkwardly, had managed to rest themselves on the shorter woman's lower back. She closed her eyes in anticipation for the awaiting kiss she was assuming would be coming her way. To her surprise, instead of a kiss she felt the ghost of words across her lips as the woman whispered to her in a sweet tone, "Adora, you need to wake up. I need you to wake up and find me. This is real and only this is. I need you to come back to me. I need you. The world needs you. You have to wake us all up Adora. You have to wake us all up"She pleaded, finally closing the gap between the two.

The kiss was passionate. Way too passionate for the fact that Adora couldn't recognize what was happening or who this girl was. But before the blonde could think anymore about it, she felt the other pair of lips back away. Adora opened her eyes to see that the strange woman seemed to have disappeared into thin air.

That was when Adora jolted awake, sitting up in her bed covered in sweat. She was used to this feeling but it never got less unsettling. The blonde threw her blanket off of herself and swung her legs over the side of her bed. She rushed to her bathroom. Quickly turning on the faucet and splashing the water that ran on her face. It helped a little, but it didn't stop the feeling of uneasiness from swirling in her stomach.

After taking a few minutes to calm herself down, she walked out of the bathroom and back into her room. She checked the time on her alarm clock. It was five in the morning. Usually around the time she would go on her morning jog anyway, she figured it could clear her head a little more. So the blonde pulled on a pair of sweatpants, a random hoodie, and laced up her running shoes. Taking her phone from her bedside dresser, she plugged her headphones up to the device and placed them on their head. Allowing her playlist to start, she let the music play in her ears before grabbing her keys and heading out of her apartment.

Locking the door behind her, the blonde girl, started on her jog around the city of Bright Moon. This was her hometown. She had been here for as long as she could remember. Living her life as best as she could. The city skies were bright blue which was comforting for Adora. They looked nothing like the ones in her dream. The blonde girl was grateful for that.

Soon her jog had come to a close and she walked herself back into her apartment. She took a look at the time. It was 6:00 now. Which meant it was time for her to get ready for work.

Adora walked into her bathroom and removed her clothing, throwing it in the small hamper in the corner of the room. She turned the water on in her shower. Making sure it was as hot as it could get without scorching her. Once that was done she stepped in. For a while she just stood there. Letting the water run over her shoulders and down her legs while she allowed her mind to wonder.

The nightmare she had earlier wasn't a new experience for Adora. Not in any sense of the matter. She's been having the same dream for as long as she could remember. It wasn't always the same thing but there were two constants. The strange woman and the things she whispered to Adora. Adora would always open her eyes in a place she wasn't familiar with. After a couple minutes of confusion, the woman would sneak up on her. Then bring her into a kiss only to stop and whisper to Adora.

That was the part that always frightened Adora. The way the woman sounded so genuine when she said that the dream was real. The way the woman had pleaded with her to wake everyone up. Who was she waking up, who is that girl, and why does she keep coming back. It made her feel crazy. That was the only way she could explain what was happening to her.

But she tried her best to ignore the feeling. After all, out of sight, out of mind. So as long as she wasn't dreaming, she would be fine.

And it was with that thought in mind, that she exited the shower. Turning off the water behind her, she pulled a towel of the towel rack in front of her. Neatly covering her body in the white piece of cloth and heading back to her room. She got dressed. Putting on her all black work uniform. After placing her hair in her proffered ponytail, she searched hurriedly around her room looking for her earpiece that was needed for her job. She couldn't really do her job as head bodyguard of Mayor Moon if she couldn't communicate with her coworkers.

Now with her earpiece connected, Adora collected all her required items. Her duffel bag for work was filled with a few weapons that were necessary and then basic things like her phone and wallet, remembering to grab her keys once again before she headed out the door. She walked to her car and hopped in, riding towards the Mayor's office. Adora had been working for Mayor Glimmer Moon for as long as she could remember. They as well as Mrs. Moon's husband Bow had always been quite close.

Adora drove through her town and parked in front of City Hall where the Mayor Office was. Turning off the car and grabbing her duffel bag, the blonde headed up the steps. Making sure to check that her group of bodyguards were at their correct posts before heading up to her own outside of Mrs. Moon's office. Setting her duffel bag down outside the door, Adora gave a few short knocks on the door and opened it when she was given a loud "Come In".

The blonde opened the door to see an angry glimmer trying to sort through messy papers. Her attempts were clearly failing though as the papers fell to the ground almost every other second. Bow was around his wife, trying his best to pick up the papers that were scattering around the office at an alarming rate.

"What is going on in here?"Adora spoke, crossing her arms over her chest.

The blonde's voice brought the two peoples attention away from their previous activities and onto the girl in front of them.

"I'm trying to find my information on the new girl that's coming in. I need to find her file. You see, this is why I need an assistant. Thank Bright Moon Bow found someone"Glimmer rambled.

"You hired an assistant. Finally it became too messy for your own good"Adora chuckled.

Glimmer shot her a playful glare and Adora put her hands up and backed away. Giving Bow a wave and an empathetic smile before standing back outside of Glimmer's door.

She sat there for a while. Most of Adora's job had to do with waiting. She mostly just leaned against a wall. Just as she was staring at a wall, trying to occupy herself, she heard footsteps walking up the stairs towards the hallway that led to the Mayor's office. The footsteps got closer and closer and Adora stood up a little higher. The blonde was getting an odd feeling about these footsteps. They were making her feel quite uneasy.

Finally after what felt like forever the person showed themselves. Adora studied the girl in front of her.

Adora sighed, now her out of sight out of mind tactic wasn't gonna work anymore.
