11 years later.
“ Navi !” My eyes snap open as my mother's high-pitched voice reaches my ears. I blink as I throw the covers off and sit up, rubbing the slumber from my eyes. I wish I could go back to sleep and not get up.

I stand and walk down the stairs of the attic to the second floor. Walking across the hall to the other staircase, then down into the kitchen. “Yeah, mom?” I ask, avoiding eye contact.

“Your first day of school is today. Hurry and get dressed, or your sister will leave without you.” She yells, but Annie smiles and shrugs her shoulders.

“It's okay, mom. I'm in no rush,” my mother glares at her, hushing her up. I send a small thank you with my eyes.
Annie is the only one nice to me. We aren't close, but civil to each other. I have learned that because I am a glitch, I am not wanted.

I nod as I run back upstairs into the attic that I called my room. I slip on a black tank top with a black sweater and dark blue jeans with my brown boots. Looking in the mirror, I brush my long blonde hair, then gather it and twist it up and placing a clip in it. I turn on my heels and enter the bathroom. I clean my teeth and apply mascara to my long lashes. I turn and step towards the exit as I glitch and teleport to the living room.

“Ready?” Annie asked.

I nod as I look around, trying to gather what happen. I don't speak as we then walk out as I shake my head and head towards the car. It is our first day at school, and I am incredibly nervous. Being a glitch causes me to get bullied and into a lot of trouble.
The fact that my teachers knew my parents didn't care that much about me meant they could let their anger out on me. Like once, my teacher was going through a nasty divorce, and I glitched and teleported out of class. When I walked in, he wrote me up for skipping.

They ground me for a month.

Annie sighs, “calm down, or you'll glitch worse, Navi.” We pull into the school, Wood way high, home of the bears, I nod as I step out after she parks. People stand around the front of the school talking, all in their groups. Calming down wouldn't do much. My glitching has its own mind.

Ignoring the stares and laughs and pointing fingers, I wander inside the school as my sister walks to her friends. I quietly walk to my locker and grab my things; the bell rings as I race to my first class, English 4. Walking in, I sit towards the back; students come wandering in keeping conversation with their friends as the teacher, Mrs. Alkin, strolls in, calling everyone's attention.

“The king has decided to throw a ball to find his mate, hopefully. Here are the flyers, so you can learn more about the dance,” she says as she hands them out to everyone. I grab one as I look down and read the fancy writing.

Saturday starting at 8 pm,
Grand music hall.

I raise a brow. I knew that the Alpha king wanted a mate, but to throw a ball? His wolf must be restless.

You see, there are five kingdoms. The one I live in is Red Stone Kingdom. Mostly wolves and power humans live here. A few other creatures live here, but wolves dominate, so there is a wolf king. Alpha King Bain Alexander Remington. His father, Former Alpha king Theodore Asphin Remington, and his mother, Former Luna Queen Athena Bralen Remington, stepped down from the throne a few years ago. I know its a lot to process.

The next kingdom is the Pure Blood kingdom. Vampires and witches mainly live there. They both hold the title of most powerful nations.
Next in line is Fae kingdom, home of fairies, they were huge in numbers but not as powerful.

Then you have the Flight kingdom. They were mostly dragon shifters who were more dragons than men. They weren't big in numbers but are very powerful but keep to themselves. Next is the Human kingdom, known for the weapons to keep any mystical being out.

The bell-ringing signaling the end of 1st period brings me back, robotically I grab my things and head to my second period.

I sigh as I walk out of the school, hearing the laughs of everyone. I roll my eyes as I go faster, suddenly glitching and ending up at my front doorsteps. I look around and curse, realizing I glitched; I shake my head and sigh, staring down as I step in, hearing my sisters and mother screaming in excitement. “Oh my gosh, one of my beautiful two girls could be the Alpha King's Mate!” I flinch from the high pitch screams as I enter, seeing my mom with the flyer in her hand, staring at both of my sisters. “Oh, I know it will be one of my two favorite girls!” She exclaims excitedly, I sigh as her words hurt me, to the point my bones ache. Though the anguish in my bones was old, this was not unknown to me.

She turns and sneers at me. "Navi, did you glitch…again?!” she exclaims.

I roll my eyes, “Don't I always glitch, mother?!” I mutter back, emphasizing mother. I walk to the cabinet, and as I touch it, I glitch, freezing the whole thing.

“ Navi!” My mother yells her voice, going up an octave as I jump from the high pitch yell. “I swear Navi you freeze another thing in this house and I'll-Ill-”

I clench my fist as I quickly turn towards her, cutting her off. “you'll what!" I shriek, “what will you do? Tell me! In fact, just do it now because I'll freeze something else, or I'll teleport to someplace far away where you have to spend a lot of money just to get me halfway home and then make me walk the rest of the way home again! Because I am a glitch, I glitch, and I can't help it, I can't stop it or control it!” I yell, stepping towards her, coming face to face.

I rarely did this, but something had been stirring in me. It shocked me.

The sound of skin connecting on skin sounds around the room as my head snaps to the side. I brought my hand up, touching where my mother had just slapped me. I look into her eyes that held so much hatred as tears came to mine. “Don't you dare talk to me like that. I am your mother! You are grounded for a month; you are not to go anywhere but here.” She yells as she glares at me. Her dark brown hair frames her face as her perfect eyebrows scrunch up.

Where else would I even go? I didn't have any friends, I wasn't in any school activities, except a little in decorating for prom.

I glance behind her to look at my sister, Iris, smirking at me. Turning my attention to Annie, I see her head down. I stare back at my mother and without a word. I walk out of the kitchen and upstairs to the attic. This isn't new; the ache in my bones is there for a reason.

I flop down on my bed and sigh, suddenly feeling tired. I roll over on my side and slowly fall asleep, knowing I'll regret falling asleep early in the morning.

I wake up and turn my head towards my alarm clock, the numbers 4:50 am Blink in red. I groan, knowing I wasn't going to be falling back to sleep anytime soon. I sit up and get up out of my bed and walk towards my big window that looks out to the woods. I was so high up I saw over the trees.
The view is breathtakingly beautiful; I smile as I put my hand on the wall beside the window as I look out at the beautiful dark sky that has started to light up. I gasp as the ice starts to come out of my hand and onto the wall, quickly I pull my hand away, my eyes still on that spot.

Looking back at the window, I could see my reflection. My snow blonde hair reaches a bit past my mid-back and has multiple layers. My part in my hair is to the left, and my bangs are short and stagger down. My hair has a choppy cut to it that frames my face. Dark thick eyelashes surround my crystal blue eyes. I am short, and my petit frame makes me look younger then what I am, I am 17 and clumsy as could be, I also have no friends, I'm just all around unwanted, two power humans are supposed only to have two kids, not three.

I hadn't realized tears were sliding down my cheeks until I glance back at the window at my reflection. I sigh as I use my hand and wipe them away. I step away from the window and walk to my big wardrobe. Looking through it, I grab a black v-neck shirt with blue jean pants. I grab my undergarments and white gloves. I then walk to my bathroom, walking in I walk to the shower and turn it on full blast. I strip off my clothing and climb in, I shave and bathe and wash my hair.

I then proceed to get out and put my clothes on, next I brush and blow dry my hair putting it in a French braid. Looking at the time, it is now 5:50 a.m. I slowly open the door and walk down the stairs into the hallway. I listen, finding my sister Iris and Annie are up talking. I tiptoe to my sister, Iris, room, and listen.

"I know for sure I'm going to be Alpha king Bain's mate" I hear Iris's confident voice float through the room.

"How do you know it won't be Navi or me, or it might be none of us," Annie said quietly.

Iris laughs "oh come on, quit dreaming Annie, I'm perfect, okay? And what are you the chubby girl that can't say no to food and don't get me started on That glitch her mate will reject her" she then adds "if she even has one, plus Navi can't even go to the ball she is stuck here!" Iris says with a laugh.

Annie didn't say a word as Iris went on about Alpha King Bain.
