Timeline : After Ragini agrees to help Sanskar whom she believes to be mad. Laksh is still in love with Swara and continues ignoring Ragini.
Changing Feelings
"Dost! I'm here!"
"Hey dost!" Ragini came near and poked his nose. "That's for being late. Hahaha..."
Sanskar felt like sighing. 'If I'm allowed, I'll stay with you forever!'
Yeah, he liked her.
Scratch that. He loves her.
The way she selflessly helped him, the way she protected him from the mob even when she should have been afraid, when she never acted disgusted by him.
If someone asked her to do something, she would give twice the effort to help them. That was Ragini's uniqueness. And it was her kindness that made him fall for her.
However, two things remained. 'One, she thinks I'm a mad guy. Two, she is obsessed with that good-for-nothing Lakshya!'
Sanskar faked a grin and opened his arms wide. "Dost, hug?"
Ragini chuckled, but nevertheless came forward and hugged him. After all, she didn't want to upset his innocent request.
Only if she knew. Only if she knew...
Sanskar felt guilty for taking advantage. However, that was the only way he could ever hold her in his arms. And he didn't want to let it go.
They came inside and sat on the couch. "So Sanky..."
"Yes! What do you want to do today?! Do you want to watch the flowers?!" he asked with fake excitement. 'At least we would be enjoying the peaceful environment and...you'll be beside me.' Sanskar couldn't help the smile that broke out on his lips.
"Yes, sure!" Ragini bit her lip. "Laksh can join us too. We can have a picnic! You love picnics, don't you?"
'Just say that you want Laksh here.' Sanskar pouted. "But..."
"We'll have cakes, apples and...and cookies! Yum, aren't they?"
'Really Ragini, really?' Sanskar wanted to let out. But of course, he couldn't. "Then we should invite Swara too!" Sanskar grinned, knowing that would make her insecure.
"NO!" Ragini lowered her voice. "I mean...no. Just Laksh. You know I like him, don't you?" she spoke with a blush.
'More like obsessed!' Sanskar scoffed. "Why do you like him anyway? It's not like he's so special."
"He solved everything between Baba and Shramishtha Maa."
"More like he solved everything for Swara's mother to have a husband and her to have a complete family." Sanskar only realized his error about speaking so spitefully after he finished. 'Shit!'
However, Ragini seemed too deep in thought. His words seemed to have an effect on her.
"My dost is kind, sweet and friendly. But Lakshya is rude. I don't like him!"
Ragini broke from her thoughts and smiled. "He's not bad. He can be kind too. Let me go call him!"
Sanskar watched as she left to call him, knowing she would use him as an excuse.
He hated being used. However, he didn't object.
Sanskar knew Ragini was obsessed for Laksh's love. It meant everything for her. So, through him, she can win Laksh...then so be it. He wanted her happy. And he would gladly allow her to use him for it.
Later...
Ragini looked on dreamily at Laksh with Sanskar sitting beside her, pretending to be busy with the rubix cube.
Laksh, however, was paying her no attention. He was busy on the phone.
There was a ping from the kitchen, signaling that the cookies were baked.
"I'll go get them!" Ragini hurried to the kitchen and packed the last items in the basket. "Alright, let's go then."
"Just a minute. Let me check out the latest pictures of my biases."
"Biases?" questioned Sanskar, genuinely confused.
"Ragini, explain it to him, will you?"
"I'm confused as well."
Laksh looked up in shock. "Seriously? Unbelievable! Bias means your favorite person amidst a band or any celeb group." he tsked. "Ragini you're way too outdated. You're of our generation, aren't you?" he joked.
However, the comment hurt Ragini. She had heard such comments from others. But Laksh saying that, even as a joke, hurt. Nevertheless, she put on a smile. "So, who is your bias?"
Laksh grinned and showed her. "She's amazing, isn't she? And look at her dresses. So amazing!"
"But they are so tiny."
Laksh chuckled. "That's a fashion trend. Salwars and such are out of trend."
Sanskar watched in fury as with each word, Ragini became more depressed. He didn't blame Laksh of course. Being the dimwit he was, Sanskar was sure Laksh didn't even realize that he was hurting Ragini. "So you mean you like her because of the clothes? Then will you be marrying those clothes?"
Laksh choked on the glass of water he was sipping. "Wh-what?!"
Sanskar blinked innocently. "Yes."
"It's not that Sanky..." Ragini tried to explain. However, Sanskar could see her trying hard to suppress her laughter.
Swara reached at the moment to hear Sanskar's comment. "That was rude Sanskar. Apologize to your brother."
Sanskar pouted. "But I didn't do anything wrong."
"You did."
Sanskar was irked. "No I didn't. You're the one being rude to me. Silly Swara." he chided. He added extra effect to make Ragini's mood better.
"How dare yo-"
Ragini chuckled. "It's alright Swara. He was just curious. You know how he can be."
"Whatever!" Swara flicked her hair behind her ear. "After all, he's a no brain idiot."
'Oooo this means war!' Sanskar was about to bite back. However, Ragini's voice stopped him.
"Swara, I think you should apologize."
Sanskar smiled since she was defending him.
"But why Ragini?! He started it."
"You know his condition. But you're mature, aren't you?" Ragini said with a smile.
Swara sighed. "Fine fine. I-"
"No need Swara." Laksh got up and stood beside her. "He probably doesn't even understand that you offended him. We're going on a picnic. Join us! Ragini, let's go!"
"That wasn't very nice."
Laksh stopped in his steps. Even Sanskar and Swara looked shocked at Ragini.
"Okay, my bad." Laksh put on his charming smile. "Let's go now?"
"Not until you two say sorry to him." Ragini surmised. It was one thing offending her. But Sanskar was her friend.
'Is it me or did Ragini just scold Laksh because of me?' Sanskar thought with wide eyes staring at Ragini.
"Just let go. It's such a silly thing!"
"Exactly Lakshya. It's a silly thing. So just apologize."
'Wow! This is new.'
"Hey, just forget it alright. You want to go on a picnic, don't you? Else me and Swara can just go watch a movie. But of course you don't want to go to movie theaters." Laksh chuckled.
Other times, Ragini would just look down when Laksh made her feel inferior like that. However this time she was fighting for her friend.
Swara interrupted. "Laksh! How co-"
"Sanskar is right. You're not nice. Yes, you are amazing. But you are certainly not a kind person."
Swara sputtered. She was used to being the one defending Ragini. But Ragini seemed to be on a rampage.
Sanskar sat back comfortably, watching everything play out. 'I guess I was wrong about Ragini. She might be obsessed with Laksh. But she hasn't forgotten her just nature.'
"I guess you want me to leave with Swara?" Laksh smirked. He was sure Ragini wouldn't want that.
Tonhis surprise, Ragini nodded. "Okay then, bye. I'll miss you."
'Ragini - 1, Laksh - 0.' Sanskar snorted, trying hard not to laugh.
"Um..." Swara could see that neither party was backing down. "I think we should just leave Laksh." she uttered. 'Both are important to me. I don't want to choose sides. I'll bring back Laksh to Ragini once both calm down.'
However, Laksh snatched away his hand from Swara's grip, refusing to accept it. "Ragini, let's go!"
Ragini turned around to Sanskar with a smile. "Let them go. We'll go watch your fav cartoons in my room and eat these snacks, okay?"
'An entire day with you? Heaven!' Sanskar got up to leave. However, unfortunately his foot slipped and he ended up crashing his head lightly on the side of the table. "Ow!"
"Sanskar!" Ragini put down the basket to check upon him. "Don't worry okay? It's a small scratch. I'll make it okay. I'm here, I'm here."
Laksh grit his teeth. "Fine! Sanskar, I'm sorry. Now let's go!"
"Are you crazy? He's hurt!"
"It's only a scratch!"
"How co-" Ragini sighed in anger. "Why do I even like you?!"
Ragini helped Sanskar up and left to treat his wound in her room, not even looking back.
Laksh and Swara remained wide eyed. Everything seemed surreal to them.
Ragini went against Lakshya without a second thought!
A. Second. Thought!
After a moment, Sanskar came out.
Laksh smirked. "Ragini sent you to say she's coming?"
"Nope. She wants these." he grabbed the basket. "Enjoy your movie Bye-de-bye!"
Laksh watched with his jaw slack as Sanskar skipped away towards Ragini's room.
'RagSan - 2, Laksh - 0.' Sanskar grinned to himself. Ragini chose him over Laksh. And when he asked it to her in his childish way, her response?
"I should be the one thanking you. I think...I'm wrong about Lakshya."
'Things are changing indeed!'
