㉔I Can Say The Same Thing
Bright, warm smiles adorned their faces while the two sauntered towards the car, side hugging as it had become a pleasant habit now.
When no eyes were on them, they stole a few pecks, unable to wait any longer, giggling in between. Upon arriving in front of the car, Jeongguk crushed him fondly in his embrace and captured his irresistible lips as his heart was craving to do.
Taehyung felt as if Jeongguk's hands burned every part of his body they touched and caressed with such delicacy mixed with yearning. His muffled, small groans were like a dulcet melody to Taehyung’s ears that he never wanted to stop listening to.
“I missed this,” Jeongguk muttered against his lips as he glided his hand to his nape, holding it, and drew him in another avid kiss.
A series of choked, tantalizing moans was his only response as Taehyung felt his flooded with warmth and excitation heart rage in his chest. It was insane how rapturous he felt every time they kissed or when he was just with him, cocooned in his secure hug.
Something hard pressing against him came to Jeongguk’s senses when the older rolled his hips, stirring a fire deep in his stomach that soon enough ripped through every inch of him. “Shit.” Jeongguk broke the kiss, not trusting himself that he could constrain his wild desires for that boy.
The sound of their heavy breathing enveloped them as they peeled their eyes open and smiled tenderly, heads still dizzy by the intoxicating moment they shared.
“You’re perfect,” the cherry-haired boy whispered and nibbled Taehyung's swollen lip.
“I’m not,” Taehyung chuckled, rubbing their noses together.
“You are. There’s nothing better than you in this whole damn world. Nothing, no one... I would want more than you.”
“Kookie,” he drawled, eyes a tad bigger now at his heart-melting words, and his smile long gone by his astonishment.
Jeongguk kissed his surprised, adorable expression away and offered him a fond grin. “Let’s go.”
“Hey.” He tugged his hand, bringing him back. “You can’t just s-say something like this and then—and then expect me to drop it,” he spoke in haste, his restless eyes wandering.
“You can do whatever you want with it. I just said it because I felt it. Because I feel it, baby.” He cupped his face and pressed a kiss on his lips. “Does it scare you?” Although Taehyung stayed mute, he got his answer when he hung his head and fisted his sweater. “I’m scared too if it makes you feel any better. I’m scared—“ He piped down the moment he heard faint chatter in the distance.
Jeongguk pecked his lips once more and urged him to get into the car, not wanting the others to question them. Chuckling, they took their seats in a hurry, and Jeongguk drove off. “You wanna go to the place we went the last time?”
“With the colors?” Taehyung’s face lit up only by the thought of going there again.
And Jeongguk couldn’t help but chuckle at his endearing behavior. “Yes, baby.”
“Yes please!” He clapped his hands in tiny, his eyes wrinkling as he beamed at him.
“You’re just an adorable baby, I swear.” He reached out to pinch his cheek.
Taehyung giggled again, placing his hand on his nape, caressing it. “You want to continue what you were saying before?”
“I prefer to talk about it when we arrive. For now, you should tell me what you and my parents talked about because I forgot to ask that.”
“They just said that because I’m important to you, I’m important to them as well. And they asked me to think of them as my parents. They were really sweet and nice to me.”
“As they should. And how could you be so open with them while I fought so hard to know even the tiniest thing about you?”
Taehyung snorted as he squeezed his nape. “I guess because they are your family. They’re connected to you, and you helped me open up to you. I think that’s why it wasn’t so hard for me to talk to them.”
“I’m sorry for making that small scene, by the way. I just... It felt as if you like my parents more than me!”
“Maybe I do.” Taehyung lifted a mischievous shoulder.
“Yah!”
“Someone’s being a baby,” he sing-songed through his chuckle, clearly teasing him.
“Damn right I am. You have to like me more, Taecute!”
“I like you more, you whiny brat.” He leaned closer to peck his cheek and spectated as a satisfied grin sprawled on Jeongguk’s lips.
“That’s my baby.” He stole another kiss and focused on driving again.
With a few more caresses, laughs, and leisure bantering, they arrived at their destination.
Like the first time, Taehyung gaped at the place in awe, unable to take in how engaging it was. They sat a little closer to the spectacular sight with Taehyung not missing his chance to snuggle into his warm hug.
A few minutes of serene silence rolled by, simply savoring the reams of emotions roaring inside them just by cuddling.
“I dated before once,” Taehyung blurted out, his tone subdued. “And he was cheating on me with my best friend at the time for over a month. And I had no idea until that friend confessed because as he said, he couldn’t hide it from me anymore. It hurt really bad, and it broke me, actually.” A dry chuckle filled with bitterness leaked out of his mouth.
“I haven’t been in a relationship ever since. It’s scary to think I’ll give everything to someone and he’ll throw it away just because. I don’t know how to not be scared, Kookie. And I know you’re not like him and that you don’t have to put up with my insecurities, but I can’t help it.”
Jeongguk inhaled deeply as he instructed him to sit on his lap, fastening his arms around him. He placed sweet kisses on his jawline and some on his lips before he drew back and offered him one of his warmest smiles.
“I’m sorry you went through that, baby. You didn’t deserve this. You don’t deserve anything bad, actually. I understand why you’re scared, but please, don’t let it hold you back anymore. I know words mean nothing most of the time, but I won't treat you like that. You’re my angel. I’ll treat you as you deserve. I’d be crazy if I hurt you like that or in any way. Why would I risk losing you? I don’t want that.” His voice dropped to a whisper as he closed his eyes.
“I’m happy with you. You make me happy. Even if I can’t call you mine yet, I love what we have, and I wouldn’t throw it away for anything. And I know we just started this thing, but this is something new to me. I was indifferent, I can say, about my love life. And that’s why I’m scared. Because you appeared, and suddenly I couldn’t take my mind off you. I still can’t, baby. And I don’t want to, to be honest. I want to fill my mind with moments with you, moments like this. Just cuddling and talking about anything. It’s more than enough to make me happy.”
Taehyung couldn’t hide his smile as he listened to the younger pouring his heart out to him. He smothered him in a tight hug, rocking him from side to side, both chuckling softly. “This is enough for me to be happy as well, Kookie.” He peppered fond kisses on his neck and laid his eyes on him. “I’m already attached to you. And if something changes, it will hurt a lot. I don’t want to think about that, though. I want to think only about you and how you make me feel.”
“How do I make you feel, baby?” Jeongguk questioned, his voice dripping with something impish, a broad smile decorating his lips.
Taehyung giggled, throwing his head back. “Weird, that’s for sure. My heart is racing every time you kiss me. My stomach feels all tingly and stuff. But besides that, you just... make me hope for a better tomorrow. You make me believe I can have a better tomorrow.”
“You can, and you will. I’ll make sure of that,” he said in a hushed tone as he pushed a clump of hair behind his ear. “And I feel the same, just so you know. Everything is all tingly with you. I don’t know what you’re doing to me.”
“I can say the same thing,” Taehyung said under his breath, resting his forehead against his.
“How about my surprise, baby? I didn’t forget about it if that’s what you think.”
“I didn’t forget about it either. It’s just a little, um, embarrassing, I guess. I’ve never done this before.” He tittered, eyes moving in all directions by his nervousness.
“What?” Jeongguk emboldened him to continue as the other stayed silent for a while.
“I-I want to sing you a song I wrote. For you.”
“Seriously?” His eyes popped in amazement. “I thought you only write music. I didn’t know you can sing!”
“It’s not a big deal,” Taehyung mumbled, still avoiding eye contact.
“Of course it is. You’re so talented. I can’t wait, baby.” He held his face and placed a trail of kisses on his lips. “And you wrote this song for me?”
“I’ve written a few songs about you, to be honest. You just give me inspiration.”
“That’s so, so sweet,” Jeongguk uttered in awe. “Don’t be shy, Taebear. I want you to be comfortable, please.”
“It’s my first time, and it feels a little weird. I just hope you like it.”
“I’m sure I will.”
Another moment of silence ticked on as Taehyung drew in some encouraging breaths. “I wish I could sing it with the melody.”
“Baby, it’s okay.” He gave him a loving kiss then, trying to relax him.
With a clearing of his throat, Taehyung wrapped his arms around his nape and began. “To a world far away from here~” His deep, velvety voice came out a tad shaky. “To a world full of colors~” His gaze was still lowered, his heart dancing at a fast rhythm.
“Your eyes always guide me~” He peeked at him, but upon seeing his awed, smiley face, he set his eyes on him. “And my heart cagily follows~” A timid smile crept over his lips as he felt Jeongguk’s tender caresses on his back.
“How can I describe what I feel when I’m with you~” he raised the tone of his voice, maintaining eye contact. “I’m void of all I lived, void of all I knew~” He felt more confident with the younger’s wide grin that didn’t yield in the slightest.
“How can one describe the feelings you have caused~” He stroked his temple with his knuckles and cupped his cheek. “Only you can bring my pain to a pause~” Noticing tears pooling in his eyes, he couldn’t help but tear up as well.
Because right there, it became even clearer to him; Jeongguk truly adored him and cared about him just as much.
Taehyung continued singing to him, his voice trembling here and there by his tears, but that didn’t stop him. It was a rather heart-warming moment as the two were wiping each other’s wet cheeks, unable to fence in their emotions.
At every bar he sang, Jeongguk felt more and more tears rush down his cheeks. He was so overwhelmed his only choice was to cry his eyes out. No one had sung to him before. No one had written a song for him before.
And to say it wasn’t the most beautiful and sweetest thing anyone had ever done for him would be an immense lie.
It struck him at that dreamy moment more than any other; he was going to do everything in his power to make that boy his and give him the world.
He didn’t deserve anything less than that.
By the time Taehyung finished, they desperately held onto each other, connecting their souls with that hug, not just their bodies.
“You have the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard, baby,” Jeongguk whispered, leaving a few sugary kisses on the side of his head.
“Thank you.” Taehyung ran his hand on his back tenderly. “Why did you cry? You made me cry too.”
“I don’t know why I became a crybaby suddenly.” He chuckled, brushing off the last tears that trickled down his face. He held his head, kissing his wet cheeks, something that caused the other to beam. “No one has ever done that for me, and it was overwhelming, I guess. And the lyrics... Do you really feel so much about me?”
“I-I do. I don’t know how to show it, but I do, Kookie.”
“Don’t worry about that. Thank you for this song. You’re not easy to read, and with this song, I feel closer to you. I feel one step closer to your beautiful soul.”
“I’m not easy to read? You’re too kind for your own good. If I was in your place, I would say I’m impossible to read and understand.” Heaps of laughter were heard from both at Taehyung's remark, their eyes gleaming. “Anyone else would have run away by now.”
“Well, I want to run too, but only towards you. I’d be crazy if I ran away from you. You have no idea how much I want you, baby. You really have no idea.”
“I think my heart did a thing just now.” Taehyung clutched his heart, which definitely fluttered at his words.
Jeongguk grinned at the one hundred percent lovable boy on his lap and placed a long, eager kiss on his lips. “Good because my heart does this thing way too often when I’m with you. It feels good to know the feelings are mutual.”
Taehyung exhaled nasally, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he strung their foreheads together. “It feels amazing, Kookie,” he said, voice soft and quiet, and claimed his lips in a kiss chock-full of avidity and fondness.
