㉞Did He Leave?
Jeongguk thought he was dreaming.
The moment he regained his senses from his sleeping state, he felt Taehyung in his embrace. He could feel his warmth reach even his heart. He could smell his fragrant, peachy hair. He could hear his halcyon, dulcet little snores. He could feel his drool on his chest.
Some might find that gross, but Jeongguk loved it; it was rather adorable if you asked him.
Why? Because it was real. Because Taehyung was indeed there. He wasn’t alone anymore — they weren’t alone anymore. They had each other. They were together.
And Jeongguk would do anything he could to keep it that way.
He didn’t attempt to wake his baby up. He stayed there, twiddling with his hair and savoring every minute. His petite body fitted in his hug perfectly as if it was made this way just for that reason; to be held by Jeongguk.
He felt the boy stretch his huddled-up limbs and his mouth open and close against his bare chest as a few velvety hums passed through his lips.
Damn, Taehyung was all out adorable even in his sleep.
But all of a sudden, he ceased every movement for a few seconds and then rolled onto his back, rendering Jeongguk bewildered at his actions.
“Oh God, I’m drooling on you!” Taehyung squeaked with his hoarse, sleepy voice as he furiously wiped his chest.
There was no way Jeongguk could rein back his laugh at his endearing behavior and apologetic pout that had settled on his plush lips. “Relax, you cute baby,” he said through his chuckle as he took hold of his hand and climbed over him, propping his elbows against the mattress so he wouldn’t apply pressure on his aching body.
He spectated through fond eyes as the muscles in Taehyung’s face mellowed and a smile bloomed on his lips, feeling Taehyung's hands draw up his sides and lace around him.
“I’m sorry, Kookie. I’m so gross.”
“Yah, you’re not! You’re absolutely adorable, no matter what you do.” He dipped down to wash him over with kisses, brimming with content once he heard his angelic giggles.
“I love you. So much,” Taehyung whispered, gazing at him with heart eyes and gliding his hand on his back.
“I love you too, baby. I’m so damn happy you’re here. I can’t... believe it, to be honest.”
“I know, it doesn’t feel real.” Taehyung brought his hand to his face, cupping it as he pecked his lips. He yanked him in his hug again, trying to squeeze him against his chest
“Aren’t you in pain?” Jeongguk asked, unsure about putting his whole weight on him.
“I am, but I missed you so much. I need a tight hug, Kookie!” He squashed him, but Jeongguk resisted, concerned about hurting him more.
“No, no, when your body heals, then you can hug the shit out of me and squeeze me all you want, okay?”
Taehyung’s bottom lip peeked out in a pout as he loosened his grip. “Fine!” he grumbled and averted his gaze.
“Aww, are you all sulky now because you can’t hug me tightly?”
“Yes! I want to feel you, Kookie,” he whined once more, skimming his back with his hands.
“There are other ways you can feel me, though.”
A moment of electrified silence enveloped them as Jeongguk noticed his eyes reshaping into bigger ones, and he hastened to recede, unconsciously sitting on his crotch. “I didn’t mean that!” he exclaimed in a high-pitched tone as he anxiously waved his hands. The realization of where he was sitting dawned on him soon enough, and he once again hurried to get off him.
Taehyung, still taken aback by the whole situation, sat up in the bed and leaned against the headboard. His harried eyes roamed all over his uneasy face as he mustered up any fragment of courage he had and unfolded his mouth. “I-I wouldn’t actually, um, you k-know, mind that.”
Jeongguk perked his head up at his barely coherent remark, brows flying high in disbelief blended with astonishment. “Wh—What?”
“Just... come here,” he said, stretching a hand for him to grab.
And Jeongguk did a few seconds later, crawling his way next to him, and leaned back like him. “What do you mean, baby?”
Taehyung clamped his teeth in his upper lip as he cast him some tentative glances. “I wouldn’t mind us, you know, having—having sex.”
“I don’t want you to just not mind it,” Jeongguk murmured, the words coming out with more difficulty than he expected as he felt nervous. “I want you to be ready and truly want it.”
“I do.” He held onto his shoulder and straddled him without drawing his gaze away in the slightest. “I trust you, Kookie.” He attached his lips to his neck, peppering sweet, wet kisses. “There’s no one I trust in this world more than you.”
A moan rose up his throat when Taehyung rubbed his ass against his groin and burst out of his mouth, unable to constrict it. “Shit, you’re torturing me.”
Taehyung smirked, loving the profound effect his actions had on him. “I’m just trying to show you how much I want it,” he coyly purred, feeling a fit of confidence overflow him.
“Yeah, right, you teasing baby,” Jeongguk snickered as he shifted his hands to his ass, giving it a fierce squeeze that made the other yelp and toss his head back. Successfully ceasing his impish actions, he held his face and pressed a kiss on his pretty lips. “We won’t do anything as long as you’re hurt.”
“Anything at all?” Taehyung drawled with a deep pout, his puppy eyes making their appearance.
Jeongguk chuckled at the sight, dropping his head for a trice, and set his fond eyes on him, beaming. “I love how needy you are despite that you’re so shy, Taecute.” He drew delicate kisses on his cheek and a few on his lips. “We’ll see about that later, okay?” When Taehyung nodded with a goofy smile, he chuckled once more and patted his head. “Now, we’ll get ready, eat breakfast, and go to the police station, hmm? How does that sound?”
“Sounds perfect, but... I don’t eat breakfast.”
“Yeah, there’s no such thing in this house.” Jeongguk seized his stunning face, careful not to hurt him, and gave him a long kiss on his lips. “Come on.” He slapped his round ass, evoking a tiny screech from him.
A loving smile outplaced his surprised expression upon hearing Jeongguk’s endearing laugh. “Love you so much,” he uttered as he rested his forehead against his, fluttering his eyes closed.
“Love you too so, so much.” Jeongguk gave small squeezes to his waist as he shut his eyes as well, focusing solely on the faint, pacifying sound of Taehyung’s breathing.
For the first time in his life, Taehyung felt as if he had a normal family when they sat all together at the table. The atmosphere was so warm and cozy, something he hadn’t experienced before with his family, if he could even call it that.
Although he never ate breakfast, he didn’t complain and blithely placed a satisfying portion of sausages and eggs on his plate. But the best part was after they finished breakfast when Jeongguk praised him for eating all of his food and bombarded his captivating face with heaps of sugary kisses.
They drove to the police station officer Jiwon was since he had handled Taehyung’s case the first time. But besides that, Jeongguk trusted him. He hadn’t forgotten about what he said to him that he didn’t believe Jongwon’s story. He just couldn’t do anything about it because Taehyung didn't say the truth.
Once they entered the police station, they asked around where they could find him, but he was out for the moment.
They were about to head outside to wait for him when another officer bobbed in front of them, blocking their way. “May I help you?”
Jeongguk felt the boy cling to his side and grasp his hand, and he twisted his head to look at him, alarmed. He couldn’t discern much since he had his head ducked and returned his gaze to the officer. “We’re looking for officer Kang Jiwon and they informed us he’s absent—“
“I handle his cases until he comes back. Why don’t you follow me?”
Jeongguk glanced at the boy next to him once more. “You okay with that? We can still talk to him when he returns.”
Taehyung peeped at him and wavered, but nodded.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He couldn’t help but worry once he noticed his anxious eyes.
Taehyung gave him another small nod, and although still unsure, they followed the officer to his desk.
After explaining the situation, the officer searched for Taehyung’s case and read the report. “So what do you want exactly?”
“Taehyung wants to say the truth. He had to lie because his hyung threatened to kill him and me. We want to send him to jail.”
“But how can we know if you’re saying the truth right now?” the officer asked with a raised brow.
“There’s no doubt that his hyung abused him,” Jeongguk spat out in an intense tone, his gaze sharp.
“So were you there? How can you know what happened? Maybe Jongwon’s story was true.”
Jeongguk’s brows clumped together as he tilted his head to the side. “How do you know his name?”
The officer seemed to tense at his question, dropping his head, but he composed himself with a light cough. “His name is in t-the report. Anyway, even if you take this to the court, no one will believe you because there is no evidence. The only thing you can do is issue a restraining order.”
“What? The only thing?” Jeongguk scowled at him as he moved to the edge of his seat, infuriated.
“Yes, I told you, no one will believe you. You’re just going to waste your time and money. So it’s better—“
“Kijun?” Jiwon emerged then, shooting daggers at the officer. “What are you doing—Taehyung? Jeongguk?”
“Oh, everything is fine,” Kijun said with a forced smile.
“Why the hell are you at my desk?”
“Just wanted to get Taehyung’s files. I got this.”
“No, you don’t,” he snickered as he snatched the files out of his hold.
“I said I got—“
“Aren’t you like best friends with Jongwon?” he asked, his tone dripping with contempt. “Why the hell are you handling his case? Go play around with something and let me work.”
“You can’t boss me around. You’re not in a higher position than me,” Kijun gritted out, his fingers curling into a fist.
“Well, at least I’m good at my job. I don’t protect my friends’ asses when they’re abusive shits,” he whispered to his ear, but the two boys managed to hear him.
Kijun looked askance at him and stormed off without saying another word.
“Sorry about this,” Jiwon said as he took his seat.
“Is he really Jongwon’s friend?” Jeongguk asked, and his eyes widened as he shot a glance at Taehyung. “Did you know about this?”
Taehyung chewed on his bottom lip as he nodded. “I’ve seen h-him with—with Jongwon before.”
“Why didn’t you tell me? Fuck, I’m so sorry, baby, I wouldn’t have talked to him if I knew that.” He pulled him into a warm hug, remorseful about putting him through that, even though he didn’t know anything.
“It’s okay, Kookie. I was just scared and didn’t want to say anything in front of him.”
“Don’t be scared when you’re with me, okay? I won’t let anyone hurt you,” he said and planted a kiss on the side of his head. Just then he remembered where they were and withdrew from the hug, flashing a small awkward smile at Jiwon. “Sorry.”
“No, no, it’s totally fine,” Jiwon said with a faint chuckle. “This sight is way better than the one I saw back then at the hospital. So why are you here?”
“I want... to say the truth. Jongwon told me what to say, and if I didn’t obey, he threatened to kill me and Jeongguk. You have to believe me, he’s been—“
“Don’t question that. I do believe you, Taehyung. I knew from the start that Jongwon was lying, but I couldn’t do anything because you confirmed his story.”
“Thank you.” Taehyung released a sigh in relief.
“What can we do, though?” Jeongguk asked as he laid his eyes on Jiwon. “That officer said the only thing we can do is issue a restraining order.”
“That’s something I suggest you do for sure, but other than that, you can sue him.”
“But Kijun said no one will believe me,” Taehyung drawled, a gloomy expression surfacing on his traits.
“What did you expect? He’s Jongwon’s friend. Of course he’ll do whatever to make you leave him alone.”
A glimmer of hope gleamed in Taehyung’s eyes as they enlarged. “So there’s a chance they’ll believe me?”
“Yes, Taehyung. There’s no doubt he abused you, first of all. You can have your doctor to testify to explain your injuries. You have Jeongguk to testify and the other guy who came to your house that day and drove you to the hospital. And I’m obligated to testify and of course I'll support you.”
“Thank you so much,” Taehyung uttered, amazed by his willingness to help him. “What are we supposed to do now?”
“Find a good lawyer and leave the rest on them.”
“Thank you. For everything,” Jeongguk said as he stood up and clasped his hand.
“No problem. If anything happens, you know where to find me.” Jiwon smiled as he bowed his head, and the two boys strolled off.
Before they could exit the police station, Kijun sprang up in front of them once again. “He’s looking for you, you know.”
Taehyung flinched the moment he heard those words and cowered behind the younger, gripping his hand for dear life.
“Did he leave?” Jeongguk asked, voice low, eyes darkening.
“What?”
“He was supposed to leave the country. Did he?”
Kijun stared at him as a smirk stretched on his lips. “No, he didn’t.”
“Did you call him?”
“Not yet.”
“Well, when you do, make sure to tell him that Jeongguk says fuck you,” he hissed with a quirk of his brows and led Taehyung out of there.
