Today was the day. You were finally going to ask your boyfriend, Kurt Hummel, to marry you. You'd had the ring for weeks now, and you were just waiting for the right time to ask. But today was that day. It was Kurt's 20th birthday, and you wanted to make it even more special. Even Mr. Shue put all the work for Nationals to the side to help with your proposal. You had it all masterly planned, and Kurt wouldn't even know it.

You were wearing this as you waited for Kurt to arrive to McKinley:

You smiled as you saw your boyfriend arrive in a blue suit and purple undershirt. "Hey handsome birthday boy," you flirted. "Hi gorgeous." Kurt flirted back, greeting you with a kiss. "Mmm. Happy birthday baby," you said kissing his nose. Kurt smiled and chuckled. "Thank you honey. You look absolutely stunning." He complimented as you smiled. "Why thank you. Now take my hand. You have a surprise in the choir room," you said, as he laughed at your antics. He extended a hand to you, letting you take it as you two walked through the halls of McKinley. You smiled and began singing A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson.

Kurt was blown away at the sight he saw in the choir room. All members of the New Directions (minus Finn y'know) were gathered with Mr. Shue, Burt and Carole. You smiled as you stopped right in the middle of the choir room. "This very choir room is special to me. This is where Kurt asked me on a date, to be his girlfriend, where we first said 'I love you', and where we had our first kiss. But now we're grown up, and it's time to make some new memories. Kurt...today you're 20 years old. It makes me happy that I can spend this special day with you. You inspire me every day, and I want to keep being inspired by you in everything that I do. I don't want to spend another moment without you by my side. Kurt you are my hero, my rock, and my angel. I couldn't have survived high school without you." You said, keeping your tears at bay. Kurt was trying not to cry.

"Since today is a special day for you, I wanted to make it even more special because you're worth it. Kurt Elizabeth Hummel, my soul mate, my one and only true love, will you do me the extraordinary honor of marrying me?" You asked as you got on one knee, presenting Kurt the ring in the box Artie handed you. Kurt looked like he might've fainted then and there. "Yeah. Yeah. As long as you say you'll marry me too," he said, showing you this gorgeous engagement ring:

You smiled and nodded, slipping his ring on his finger as he did with yours. He brought you in for a sweet kiss, holding you close. "I love you so much Kurt," you mumbled under everyone's cheers. "I love you too Y/N. I love you more than you'll ever know." He said as he wiped at his face. He had no idea you'd had this in mind. But he couldn't be happier. Best. Birthday. Ever.
