It's been a month since Finn broke up with Rachel, letting her go to New York. Rachel was currently in the loft that she shared with Kurt, and like usual she was thinking about how selfish Finn was letting her think they were going to the church to get married, when in reality they were heading to the train station, and as always when she thinks of that, she is reminded of the times she was in high school when she was bullied and tormented by Quinn and Santana and how Finn did nothing to defend her, not even when the glee club always went against her, and thought her ideas sucked, and reminded of how Finn hooked up with Santana and lied to her about it, and then got angry at her for kissing Puck.

Rachel always had a smile on her face when she thought of Puck. Or as she can call him, Noah. She has always called him Noah and he never got angry, upset or even corrected her on his name, he just lets her. Besides his mum, brother and sister, she was the only one that could him Noah. Rachel sat in her sit at the table drinking her coffee as she remembers that day in the choir room where he sang the song Sweet Caroline to her, and when they dated for those two weeks and how he made her feel like a princess, even if it destroyed his reputation, but he didn't care, because he was making her happy, which made her feel so proud to be on walking down the hallway on his arm, because he wasn't afraid to do that for her, even when he chose her and the glee club over football and she can't ever recall him treating Quinn the same way or even choosing her over anything, and he even took down the glist from her locker that Quinn had put there, and was getting in trouble because of Quinn so badly wanting a reputation. Rachel thought that her and Puck understood each other a lot more than anyone else even her and Blaine, and thought that around Puck she was more confident and more herself, and she did that football game with him which he was proud of her for, she could tell Puck was.

They only broke up because at that time she wanted Finn and he wanted Quinn. But she can always remember when she thought about cheating on Jesse with him, and how she had to stop herself from almost kissing him, and stop herself from thinking about kissing him.

As she sat there thinking of Noah Puckerman she didn't hear Kurt scrap the chair to sit across from her. Kurt looked at her and said

"Rach, you okay?" Rachel looked over at Kurt and said

"I'm okay, just thinking." Kurt picked up his coffee and said

"What about?" Rachel didn't know if she should tell him, she was silent until she said

"Everything, but mainly about how selfish Finn was, and still being. I'm over him, but I can never forgive or forget about everything he's done. I think I've been too scared to admit this but Finn was a horrible boyfriend and fiancé." Kurt looked at her and said

"he may be my step brother, but I do agree he was." Kurt then stood up after he finished coffee and said

"Rach, if you want my advice on everything. Do the best for you." Rachel looked up at Kurt and said

"I'm guessing the best for you is the one and only Dave Karofsky?" Kurt smiled and said

"Of course he is. and I always thought the same thing about you and Puck. You bring out the best in each other." As he said that, Kurt then walked to the kitchen, and then to his room to change for classes leaving Rachel on her own. Rachel sat there thinking about Kurt's words, and thought back to everything with Puck. She looked at her phone on the table and contemplated ringing him, she picked up her phone and looked at Puck's contact name and hovered over the contact. What she said to Kurt about being over Finn is true, she is over him, but she's still angry at him, and if she was being honest with herself she wasn't truly over Puck, and she always had a soft spot for him, and the one thing that meant a lot to her was that he always defended her, even when they weren't together, and got angry that Finn wasn't treating her right.

Rachel took a deep breath, closed her eyes and pressed on Puck's number waiting for him to answer.

Puck was cleaning, when he heard his phone. He stopped what he was doing, picked up his phone without checking the caller ID, and that's when he heard the sweet sweet voice of Rachel Berry. He smiled when he heard her voice and said

"Rachel, how's new York treating you?" Rachel knew she couldn't lie to him, and she said

"It's okay." Puck knew something was wrong, as when Rachel Berry says she's okay, she really isn't. Puck softly asked

"What's going on Princess?" Rachel didn't want to tell him, no matter how softly and sweet his voice sounded to Rachel. She sighed and said

"Nothing is wrong, I just wanted to hear you voice." Puck smiled as Rachel said that, and he said

"I just wanted to hear yours too." They fell into comfortable silence, and started talking with each other once before they had to hang up. As they did Puck looked his phone, and knew that everything was not okay with his Jewish American Princess, and he knew what he had to do.

A few days later Rachel was in her room in the loft and like always now she thought of Puck, and how she had missed him, if she was being honest with herself, ever since she rang him a few days ago all she ever wants is Puck, and Finn was just a mindless distraction from her feelings that she had and still has for Puck. She knew it was wrong going after her ex's best friend, but Puck was her first real boyfriend, and she never had to pretend with him at all. She laid there thinking of him, until she heard a knock on the loft door. She got up, placed her robe on and walked to the door. And when she opened it, she saw Puck standing on the other side with suitcase and guitar in hand. Rachel hugged him tight after she let him, she softly cried as they held each other, and she said

"Noah, what are you doing, how are you here?" Puck hugged Rachel back just as tight and said

"When you rang I knew something was wrong, and I had to come to you, and I saved up the money from my pool cleaning business to be here for you." Rachel was grateful that he was there, she missed him a lot, and she never wants to let him go again.

As Puck held her, he did something that he knew he shouldn't have done, not when Finn had his claim on her. Puck looked at her and kissed her, and in that moment, they are where they're meant to be.
