A MOMENT TO REMEMBER: THE ROAD BEFORE THE AISLE

FLASHBACK...

It was a Saturday morning when Quinn decided to walk around the busy street of New York.

She was just walking and wasn't sure where to go. Maybe she just wants to breathe from all the problems she had been going through. Maybe as she walk, she can think of her future... Her future with Santana.

She loves her and she wants to be with her for the rest of her life. San is the only woman that can make her smile, the woman who loves her and the only woman that no matter how many times she'd been hurt, she's willing to forgive Santana because she knows she can't live without her.

Suddenly as she walks further, one store caught her attention. She stopped for a while battling whether she would continue to walk or go inside the store.

"Hi, Miss! Why don't you get in?" Quinn was startled as the voice of a woman snapped her out of her thoughts. She turns around and smiled.

"Hi, Umm... I'm not sure. The store just caught up my attention."

"Well, why don't you take a look of some of the new arrivals we have. I'm sure you stopped because you're thinking of buying for someone," the old woman says.

Quinn nodded "Hmm, yeah..."

"Come inside. You don't have to buy right away lady." The old woman says as she open the store door.

Quinn follows as the woman gets in.

"I'm Mrs. Hutchins , by the way, but you can call me by my first name, it's Debbie."

"I'm Quinn."

"Lovely name! Okay, so Quinn, are you looking for a ring, necklace, bracelets or some other type of jewelry?" The woman sweetly talks.

Quinn gave her a sweet smile. "I'm actually looking for a ring," she says.

The woman quirked an eyebrow giving her a very interesting smile "A friendship ring?"

Quinn shook her head and chuckled.

"Oh you're looking for a wedding ring? Where's the lucky guy?" The woman says as she scans the table of rings finding a perfect set for the blonde.

Quinn nervously laughed this time. "Oh, no, no... I'm planning to propose to my -"

The woman laughed lovingly. "Oh dear... Is he too slow to propose? You're too beautiful for him to make you wait," she says before she winks at Quinn.

Quinn clears her throat. "Umm, he's a she actually. I'm going to propose to my almost-a-year girlfriend," she says nervously smiling.

"Oh, I see, pardon me. Why do I always assume things?" Quinn noticed how the woman became awkward.

"I'm sorry, I didn't clear things up in the first place. Well, umm, if this is awkward for you, it's fine. I think I'll just go-"

"Oh, no. Please stay. I just thought I saw you somewhere, that's why I'm studying your face," the woman chuckled. "Now, how about we start finding your woman's ring, shall we?" She says.

Quinn beamed and excitedly nodded.

The old woman showed different kind of rings with different variety of stones but Quinn was still quite hesitant until one of them caught her eyes.

"I think I like this one. Can you tell me about this ring?" She says smiling as she pointed to a silver ring.

"You have great eyes," the woman gave a very interesting smile. "This ring has nature-inspired design. Do you see the leaf motif details?"

Quinn nodded.

"It features 1/10 ctw of diamonds and signature handcrafted milgrain edging. The 1 carat round stone on the top is a customized option."

"Umm, I know it's kind of a corny thing but I wanna know what diamond stands for in a ring." Quinn asked grinningly hoping the woman can say something about it.

Debbie gave Quinn a lovingly smile. "I thought you'd never ask," she winks and continues. "Well, we all know that love means purity and it's a symbol of eternity. When we talk about love, diamonds come to our minds. It is rightly said that diamonds are forever and it is a girl's best friend" the woman chuckles.

"From Mouline Rouge," Quinn says.

Debbie nodded. "You got it right young lady! In fact, since ages, diamonds have been significantly used as a testimony of true love and chaste love."

Debbie motioned for Quinn to sit on the little sofa before she continued. "Diamonds are beauty galore when they are exchanged in marriage related ceremonies as engagement rings, wedding rings and anniversary rings. Diamond engagement rings are immensely popular because with it, couples make a pledge to enter a new phase of life."

Quinn couldn't stop smiling as she listened to what the woman was explaining. "But isn't it too overrated because of its style and its cost?"

"You know, giving a diamond engagement ring is not only considered stylish, but in many rituals considered promising. Engagement holds a lot of significance for two people in deep love. It is worn on the fourth finger of the hand, as it is said that the vein on this finger goes directly to the heart."

She continues, "I don't know if you're like me but when I see a young woman wearing a diamond engagement ring, it automatically becomes clear to me that she is engaged. Thus diamond engagement ring not only helps the woman show the world the color of their true love but also shows her commitment to her very special man or woman."

Quinn was in awe and thought the ring was the perfect one for Santana. "Wow! That was beyond what I was looking for a ring. I'd like to take this ring but how's the process of payment?"

The woman clapped excitedly. "You can pay in cash, credit card and we also do accept cash installment basis."

"Do you accept a cheque?"

"Of course," the woman says as she took a piece of form. "You just have to fill up this form so I can get some of the details. Her ring finger size and if there's any details such as names, or date you wanted to be engraved, so that I can work with the computation and give you the perfect price."

Quinn took the form and started filling up.

"Here," she says as she handed the form back.

"Thanks, I'll be back" the woman says as she enters her office.

Suddenly, Quinn's phone started ringing.

"Hey, Santana?" She greets as she picks up.

"Babe, where are you? You don't have classes today right?" The Latina says from the other line.

"Oh, yeah... I'm on my way home... Just went out for a walk."

"Oh , okay..."

Silence...

"Santana, are you okay?" Quinn asked.

"Yeah... Sorry... Ummm, I'll see you back in the house."

"Oh, you went out?"

"Yeah, just needed to pick up something."

"Something?"

"Umm, p-project!"

"Okay... See you later."

"Bye, I love you!" Santana says.

" okay, bye!" Quinn says before she hung up. She sighed as she felt guilt building up inside of her for trying to avoid Santana so she can do her plan freely without her being around.

"Hi Ms. Fabray," The woman greets back.

"Hi" Quinn smiles.

"So, the original amount of the ring you chose was $2,650 but because of the size adjustment, the name you want to be engraved and the carat you wanted to add, the total amount for your ring is $4,373," the woman explained.

Quinn almost gulped at the price but she shook it off. Gladly the amount of money her father left for her after his death was a lot and can pay off all of her expenses at school until she graduates in college, including her everyday expenses and monthly payment of her contribution in the rent of their apartment. And she knows that there will be excess money for her to build her own learning center for children.

"You'll be engaged once in your life. So, why not choose the perfect ring for your beautiful soon to be fiancée, right?" She says only in her mind.

And besides, it's the start of their coming future.

"Okay, I'll take it." Quinn says as she took the cheque from her bag and started signing a piece of it. "Here," she says handing the signed cheque to the lady. "Thank you very much for helping me."

"No biggie. You can pick it up next week."

Quinn beams. "Okay, thank you! Thank you! I'm so excited!"

"Okay, see you again!" Debbie says with a happy smile.

And with that Quinn left the store and immediately went home.

After almost 10 minutes...

"Knock, knock!"

"Hey youuuu! The hopeless romantic!" The woman teased.

Santana rolls her eyes "I'm going to pick up my ring." she says excitedly as she wiggles her brows.

"Of course, you are. How's your lady?" The woman asked.

"Nah, we're kinda' in a middle of a rough time. But I know that she's still head over heels with me!" Santana giggles and winked.

The woman laughs lovingly. "Young love... Alright, come inside with me in my office to settle the payment so you can now get your gorgeous ring for your gorgeous woman."

Santana nodded excitedly and follows the woman inside her office. "Debbie, you look stunning today!" The Latina smirks.

"Nah, you're not getting any discount, hon." Debbie says poking out her tongue.

"Just trying my luck!" Santana giggles.

PRESENT...

"Quinn, what is taking you so long?" Kurt asked the blonde quietly so that no one will hear.

"Wait, I'm just doing some re-touch." Quinn says as she fixes her make up.

"Re-touch? You've been re-touching for almost an hour for god heavenly sake! You need to be there on time!" Kurt whines.

"Will you please try not to be loud?"

"Urgh!" He groaned.

Quinn looks back at the mirror doing the last touch of her make up on her face when suddenly someone knocks on the door.

"Hey, babe how do I look?"

Quinn turns around smiling grinningly. "Hey, wow! You look stunning" the blonde gushed as she looks at her beautiful girlfriend wearing a knee length white dress that perfectly fits her body curve while Quinn was wearing a blue dress with the same length as Santana's.

"And you are gorgeous, babe." Santana says, grinning this time.

Quinn got up from her seat and move towards her girlfriend. "I love you, San" she says.

"I love you too" Santana says and leans forward to kiss her. Quinn meets her halfway and they both smiled as their lips touched.

"Okay, enough of the kiss ladies. You two are going to be late on your date" Kurt says.

Both of them chuckled.

"Alright, let's go!" Santana says looking at her lovely girlfriend.

Quinn nods and looks back to Kurt. "We'll see you later!" She gave Kurt a knowing smile.

Kurt knows what it means.

"So, shall we?" Santana asked to go again.

"Yes" Quinn replied.

"Beautiful lady first!" Santana says as she motion for Quinn to exit their room first.

Quinn chuckles then kissed Santana's cheek before she exits the room.

When the blonde was already out, Santana looks back at Kurt and did a fist bump. "Yes!" She mouthed excitedly.

Kurt winked and showed thumbs up for Santana.

"You sure everything's okay?" She whispered.

"Beyond 100 percent sure." Kurt whispered back.

"San!?" Quinn calls.

"Okay, need to go! Bye!" Santana excitedly hugged Kurt before she got out from her room.

When Kurt finally heard the door opened and closed after a second, he immediately dialed Rachel.

"They're gone! Now come down in here!"

"Kurt, are you really sure they did not get any hint that we are in a big plan for both of them?" Rachel nervously asked.

"For a hundredth time Rachel, I'm 200 percent sure that they didn't feel or get any hint about our plan. They both left the apartment excitedly and please, I'm driving!" Kurt says quite irritated.

Rachel slumps back on the back seat of the car. "I'm still nervous about this. What if we fail? What if they both get mad because we ruined their original plan?"

"Rachel, please calm down. You're not the one who's getting engage and we will still be doing both of their plans, same place and same date." Brittany says to her.

"Brittany is right and she's genius so we don't need to doubt this amazing plan we have." Blaine says before he looks at Kurt who gave him a smile. Blaine took his hand and squeezed it tight.

Rachel rolls her eyes at the scene and looks at Sugar beside her who's busy with texting. "Sugar, who are you texting?"

"Oh, just making sure that the crew is making the two busy for a while. Remember, we need to get to the real venue first. I've also texted Mike and Tina to meet us there."

"Oh god, you just don't know how many times we tried to make them both agree with the same venue, same date and even the food they're going to eat without each of them knowing they're going to... Oh my gosh!" Kurt suddenly hits the break "What the hell? What is he doing here?" He asked to no one specifically.

The brunette follow Kurt's gaze and eyes went wide. "I don't have any idea," she mumbles.

"Oh wait, Is there anything wrong with Puck being at the venue with us?" Brittany asked.

"Britt!" All of them whine at her.

"How's your food?" Santana asks Quinn.

"Delicious! You know how I'm a fan of pasta," she says.

Santana smiled. "You have sauce on your lower lip. Here let me help you," she says as she wipes the sauce on Quinn's lip.

Quinn chuckles. "Thanks mom" she teased.

Santana rolls her eyes. "Yeah, you're such a baby" she smirks.

Quinn giggles "Let's go somewhere after this, okay?"

"Umm, can we go somewhere quiet? I know a place," the Latina says.

"Don't worry babe. I'm really going to take you into a quiet place." Quinn says into her seductive voice.

Santana chuckles, "I can't wait..but there's this place that I really wanna show you," she insisted.

Ugh! San why now? Jeez... I think I'm gonna let the gang know first that we are going to be a little late at the venue. Shit. Quinn thinks.

Quinn smiled. "Okay, I'll just need to go to the restroom."

Santana nodded with a grinning smile. "I'll be waiting."

Quinn made sure that she is hidden from the sight of her girlfriend, she took her phone from her purse and immediately dialed Kurt.

"Quinn?"

"Kurt, we have a problem. Santana wants to take me somewhere and I got to let her because I don't want her to get a hint about my plan tonight."

"O-okay..."

"Kurt, I need you to call the manager or an officer of that venue if we can extend the rent for another two hours, please!"

"Sure. Don't worry, hon. I'm very close to the owner of that place," Kurt says.

Quinn started to calm down. "Yay, you really are awesome!"

Meanwhile...

"Berry, I'm finally going to take her to the place," Santana says excitedly.

"Good! I'm so excited!" Rachel exclaimed from the other line.

"Okay, see yah there!" Santana says before she hung up.

"Hey, who are you talking to?" Quinn asks when she got back.

"Oh, it's Berry. I told her that we are gonna be late, so they can go to sleep early," she says to Quinn. "Shall we?"

Quinn nodded.

"They're coming!" Both Kurt and Rachel said.

"What should we do now?" Blaine asked.

"Let's get rid of Puck!" Rachel yells.

"No, guys! We've got to let him go with us! He says he actually wants to apologize to Quinn and Santana," Brittany says.

"Well, why now? He can actually say sorry some other time but not this day." Rachel whines.

"I have a feeling that he really is sorry," Brittany says in a pout.

"Okay, if anything bad happens, Britt..."

"I know, I know... Just let him go with us."

"Santana, are you okay?" Quinn asked, worried as she looks at her soon to be fiancée.

"Huh?"

"I was asking if you're okay?" Quinn asks again.

"Yeah... Just, can you turn the aircon to 5. It's just... Jeez, so hot," she muttered.

"Is it the car you're referring to or it's me?" Quinn smirks before she turned the cool up.

Santana chuckled.

After 10 more minutes of driving, Santana pulled up into the front of their last venue for the night.

"San, wait..."

"What?" Santana asks.

"Is this the place?"

"Yeah, why?"

"No, it's just... Never mind."

Isn't this the place that Kurt reserved for us? Quinn thinks as she took her phone to text Kurt.

"Quinn, please no texting."

"It'll be quick, it's just-"

"Please..." Santana pouted.

Quinn sighed and nodded with a smile.

"I know you're nervous. Now relax, babe. I just want to show you something." Santana says in a smile before she gave the blonde a chaste kiss.

The two got out from the car and Santana immediately took Quinn's hand as they both walk towards the place but as they get into the main entrance, Santana stopped and looks at Quinn.

"San?"

"Umm, it's just. You need to wear this." Santana showed a black lace that she took from her purse.

Quinn looks at Santana with a knowing smile. "A surprise for me?"

Santana shrugged. "Please, just wear it. Let me help you."

Quinn smirks then turns around. Santana covers Quinn's eyes with the black lace and tied both of the ends into a knot.

"Promise me you can't see anything?" Santana says.

"I promise." Quinn chuckles.

"Now come on, hold my hand." Santana says as she took the hand of Quinn while her other hand is around the waist of the blonde.

Quinn squeals when she almost tripped on her first step.

Santana laughs. "You're clumsy, that was just your first step."

"Stop it, Ms. 'Who can see everything'."

Quinn, on the other hand, started to feel nervous and excited at the same time. She can see some reflection of yellow lights from behind the black lace that is covering her eyes.

"Five more steps." Santana says and Quinn counted.

"Okay, I'm wrong. Another two please..." Santana laughs.

"Is this good?" Quinn asks. "Santana, I'm excited."

"Hold on." Santana says as she removes the lace from Quinn's eyes. "Don't open your eyes yet," she says.

"San, why you're so fast removing my bra and you cannot remove the lace at the same pace." Quinn teased.

"Shut up, they're not the same," Santana laughs.

"Faster..."

When Santana finally removed the lace, "Now, open your eyes." She says with a grinning smile on her face.

Quinn opened her eyes and gushed at the sight of the place. It is a garden full of Lily and white roses, both of her and Santana's favorite flowers. The place became more stunning when the lights start illuminating the whole place. There are pictures of them hanging above them and blue and yellow balloons scattered on the floor which both of their favorite color. It was perfect.

"Santana, this is..." she was stopped as she turns around to see her girlfriend on one knee.

"Quinn, you've always been a wonderful gift to me from the very start. You've become my strength when I was down. You built the confidence in me to start having a dream again. You're one of the reasons why I want and need to wake up every day despite of all the bad things I've gone through. Our life became a roller coaster ride. There were times that we want to just give up... But hey, we are soulmates and we both always find the way to get back to each other and not to give up. You're the sunshine to my rainy days. I want to love you and take care of you as long as I live..." Santana opens the little black box on her hand and let out a breath before she says, "Lucy Quinn Fabray, will you marry me and be my sunshine for the rest of my life?"

Quinn's cheeks starts flashing in red. She smiles tonight a smile like she never ever did before. Her heart wants to explode like fireworks of love and her eyes started flowing with tears like a river of love. It was priceless.

"YES! YES! YES!" she shouts that it echoes around the place.

Santana got up and grabbed her for a hug. She cries happily as she whispers to Quinn. "I love you!" Like ten times before she pulls into a hug and put the ring on Quinn's finger.

"I love you too!" the blonde says and kissed the Latina. "And this is beautiful" she added as she looks on her finger appreciating the beauty of her diamond ring. Quinn couldn't believe Santana got her the same stone. It was perfect. It just showed that they are really meant to be.

"You're beautiful." Santana says.

"San, I need to tell you something," Quinn says in a serious tone.

Santana became serious. "Quinn, it's not... I mean, I'm not pressuring you to get married this year. You can graduate first and work and..." The Latina was stopped when Quinn got down on one knee and showed her a little box with a diamond ring in it.

"Y-you're proposing?" Santana was shocked.

Quinn's lips starts to quiver into a smile as her tears fell down. "San, I love you so much and I don't know how to live another day without you. I know how you act like a badass but you always show me the other side of you... You are the sweetest, lovable, kind and you have the longest patience between the two of us. When I gave up, you're still there making me realize that our love for each other is bigger than our problem. You are the only person I want to see first when I get up in the morning, taking pictures with and I want you to be the one wearing this ring..." She bits her lips and smiles. "Santana Marie Lopez, will you wear this ring and marry me to be your wife?" Quinn finally asks.

"Definitely, YES!" Santana tackles Quinn down for a hug. "I love you!" she says wearing her cheesy smile and showered Quinn with kisses.

"You have to wear this ring and maybe go in a hotel before we make our first baby?" Both of them giggle.

Santana helped Quinn get up before she let her put the ring on her finger.

Both girls kissed again before they were surprised when the white mantel in front of them dropped and seven of their friends were there shouting a loud "Congratulations!"

"This is my surprise for you." Santana says.

"I think this is both of our surprise to each other," Quinn finally realized.

"What do you mean?" Santana asks into a smile.

"I just realized this is the venue I was also taking you to." Quinn says "And our friends set us up."

All of their friends run to them for a hug.

"You guys, you set us up!?" Santana says laughing.

"Oh gosh you just don't know how much headache you two gave us when you both said you were planning to propose!" Rachel dramatically says.

Quinn and Santana were surprised knowing they were planning the same.

Kurt, Rachel, Brittany, Blaine, Sugar, Tina and Mike congratulated them again.

"We have another surprise!" Tina and Mike said in unison.

Santana raised her brows and giggles. Her eyes went wide when her mami and papi showed up. She runs to them and her parents engulfed her into a big hug.

"We are so proud of you, mija!"

"Mom?"

Santana turns around to see Quinn into a big smile looking at Judy.

Quinn runs to her mom and hugged her. "Mom, I love you so much and I love Santana."

"I know... I know... I love you too," Judy says as she hugs Quinn then looks at Santana's direction giving her a smile.

Santana never thought Judy would come when she dialed her three days before this big night, letting her know that she is going to propose to her daughter. On the other hand, Quinn also called Santana's parents to let them know about her surprise for their daughter.

"Aunt Quinnie!" A small voice echoes.

Quinn turns around and saw Beth. "Hey, you're big now!"

Beth chuckles as she jumped to Quinn. The blonde carries her daughter and showered her with kisses.

"I missed you, honey," Quinn says.

Beth smiles and kissed her mama's cheek.

"Shelby..." Quinn says.

"Rachel called me and I don't want Beth to miss any big event of your life. She's a part of you and you are the same to her." Shelby says looking at her daughter and Quinn.

Quinn nodded.

"Hey squirrel!" Santana exclaimed and kissed Beth's both cheeks.

Beth giggles. "Aunt Sanny, that tickles!"

"You're adorable like your Aunt Quinnie," she whispers.

"I heard that, Santana!" Shelby glares at her.

"And your mama is jealous!" Santana teased and all of them laughed.

"Zup, bitches!"

Santana knows that voice. Her eyes from happiness became something scary. If only eyes could kill. "What the hell are you doing here?" She asked, enough for Puck to hear.

"Whoa! I'm not here to make a fight. I was invited!" He says.

"Who invited you?"

"San, it was me. Come on, it's time to be nice with each other." Brittany says.

Santana on the other hand looks at her.

"Santana, please... I'm here to say sorry and I want to make peace. I promise, I won't be an asshole!"

Santana was about to say something when Quinn intertwines her hand with her and shows her a reassuring smile.

"San, it's okay..." Quinn says and looks at Puck. "I'm giving you another chance Noah. Don't ruin it," she says to him and Puck sighed and smiled at her.

"I promise!" He says before she looks back at Santana. "So, please be friends with me again?" Puck says offering his hand.

Santana smirks. "Well, I gotta admit. I missed you my badass friend!" Instead of taking his hand, Santana moves to hug Puck.

"You're cheesy!" Puck says.

"Just shut up!"

All of their glee friends cheer in happiness. The night was filled with happy songs as they sing and dance to the music.

Finally, their parents became friends that night.

All of their friends and families are in one event. What more could they ask for?

"What now?" Santana asks to Quinn.

"Well, we can start getting our own apartment and live together. I've got one more year to graduate and two more years for you. We can start adding money to our accounts as we work while studying and after we graduate, let's start building both of our dreams and plan on our wedding-"

"And start planning for our future kids, Sakura and Killua!" Santana says beaming.

"You did not just get our son and daughter's names from an anime!" Quinn gasped looking at Santana with wide eyes.

"I was kidding!" Santana laughs.

"You better be!" Quinn let out a breath and chuckles.

"I love you, Quinn."

"I love you too, Santana."

They gave each other a loving look and they both leaned for a passionate kiss.
