The water was freezing. But getting to the other side would be worth it. There was a bright archway in view in a shape of a large oval, and looking at it showed the person's reflection. She could see his emerald green eyes and trashy brown hair. The person she became was a boy. And he wondered how he would ever get through to the other side.
Luna had snapped out of her trance as she swung calmly in the wind above the ground on a metal swing connected to a tree by two ropes. It was perfectly placed for an adventure. The green forest surrounded the swing, but there was a single pathway that lead out of the forest and into the town. Within the forest, birds chirped and coyotes howled. A beautiful place, and somewhere in it she could hear a male asking for help.
Luna got off the swing and began to wander into the forest, a place she had been dozens of time, but this time it appeared differently. It grew into an even taller forest the further she walked into it, and eventually the birds stopped singing and the grand moon began to rise. All of a sudden it had turned to night and there was no turning back. The male's voice continued to call for help, and Luna's mind fell back into a trance.
He continued to look at the mirror and his reflection stood starring at him. "Help me please." Mouthed the reflection and in the corner of the mirror a girl with features of the one he left behind appeared.
"Zania!" A voiced yelled, breaking Luna from the trance she was in. A boy with vibrant emerald eyes began to run at her, as soon as he reached her he dragged her into a tight embrace, "I thought I had lost you for good Zania! You found it to the other side!"
Luna was shocked by the boy's sudden actions towards her and replied by saying, "Who are you?" The boy frowned a bit before releasing Luna. "I'm Jerome, your friend."
"No, like who's Zania?" Jerome's mouth dropped at the question asked, before finally realizing that this person was not his best friend. "Well, Zania is my best friend and I need your help getting her back." Luna looked Jerome up and down and began to wonder why the fuck she was even in this forest to begin with.
"Well, Jerome. I just happened to walk into this forest on a stroll. Just like any other day except this time I came across you because I heard a male voice asking for help." Jerome looked shocked at Luna's story, "You crossed the barrier. How?"
Luna just shrugged her shoulders at Jerome. She wasn't even sure how she ended up where she did, but somehow—miraculously—she ended up in the same vicinity as crazy brown-haired guy in a prison outfit. "I thought you would have killed me by now." Jerome looked at his outfit and then began to explain himself.
"Long story short, I'm in prison for the stupidest reasons." Luna eyed Jerome in pure judgement and questionability. He proceeded to sigh a lot before continuing to explain his part of the story, "My friend, Zania, definitely sacrificed herself to help me get to the other side....which I'm assuming is your world. I'm not really sure why, but I've been told your world has a lot to offer. And there's evidently a way to destroy my world by entering yours, but I can't figure it out."
Luna gave Jerome a look of sympathy for the loss of his friend, but still managed to not look convinced. "But this prison outfit is purely because Zania and I are considered outsiders because we are born with the ability to see your world. Therefore we were being executed, but we tried to escape like a lot of people like us have accomplished. But we want to go further and destroy our world and live in yours, but I can't seem to get across. Will you help me?"
