Chapter 7: An Attempt at a Rescue Mission

Victoria's point of view

We all stayed low and kept an eye open for any signs of the malevolent elementals. I was at the front with Daniell by my side. We were a full fourteen hours behind the malevolent elementals, but we had the advantage of traveling in the early morining.

Unfortunately for us, we were dead tired from nonstop running trying to catch up with Morgan's captors.

"Victoria can we just rest for five minutes? We've been running for ten hours straight." Moaned Sebastion.

He was the first to complain and if he was tired enough to complain then the others were near dead with exhaustion.

"Five minutes." I said finally giving in to my own exhaustion.

They promptly collapsed on the ground. I sat down next to Daniell, who was taking a swig of his water canteen.

"We haven't run like this, since that time Hama got us all to throw you into that lake and you chased us with your katanas for six hours straight. Remember that?" Daniell asked with a faint smile on his face.

"How could I forget? That was the worst birthday present I've ever had." I replied back recalling that semi-fond memory.

"And even then we were well rested. Wait, have you eaten anything today?" He asked inquisitly.

"No, but with the day I'm having that's the least of my worries." I said hardly caring if I had eaten or not.

Daniell sighed and I got up to announce that we had to get a move on. "Come on guys we need to get a move on." I said. "I've got an idea. How many of you can stand?"

Three people besides Daniell and I raised their hand. Ron, Natalie and Joseph were going to have to participate in my crazy plan.

"Okay, you guys that raised your hand, come with me. The rest of you get set up camp, but be ready if all hell breaks loose." I said formulating my plan.

"What are we doing?" Asked Natalie curiously.

"Well, the others will rest, while the rest of us go save Morgan." I explained. "But we need bait, so while I distract the guards, you four get Morgan out. I hear one objection and everyone is going." With that no one said a word.

The five of us ran at top speed in the direction of danger. After an hour of running, we could see the glow of lanterns in the distance.

We all slowed down at the sight of the camp. From where we stood you could see the entire camp.

I signaled to the others to stay while I looked for the area they were keeping Morgan.

After a few minutes, I found the area where Morgan was. They had him locked up in a cage, still frozen.

I walked slowly back to where the others were hiding.

"I found the place where they're keeping Morgan captive. Follow." They walked behind me as I lead them to Morgan.

"You four wait here, while I distract the guards. When they leave, Daniell you need to unfreeze Morgan and run back to the others at home base." I explained.

"We're not gonna leave you here-" Daniell started.

"I know, I know, but I'm the fastest one here and the least tired." I stated. "Just listen to my mad plan for once."

Daniell just shook his head, but then he sighed. Him sighing was a sign he was in.

I started to walk away to start the plan, when I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw it was Daniell.

"Just try to stay safe." He said.

"Only when the fate of the world isn't in our hands." I replied walking away.

I walked a few feet east of the bushes so the guards won't suspect that their were others involved.

"You there." Said one of the guards, after I walked into the clearing where they were keeping Morgan hostage.

  "Moi?" I asked.

"Get out of here." He demanded.

"No habla inglés." I stated in Spanish.

I reached into my satchel to grab a 'shocking' little potion I had confiscated from Victor.

I threw it and watched as the guards were suddenly engulfed by the 'lighting in a bottle' potion.

After watching them get over the electricity in their bodies, I ran.

I knew they were right behind me, because I could hear their heavy steps.

After five minutes of running, I could hear shouting behind me. I turned and saw the guards running back to camp.

Daniell 's point of view

We crouched down behind the bushes waiting for the guards to run off chasing Victoria.

Once they left, we leapt out of the bushes and ran to the cage they were keeping Morgan in.

I looked at the lock trying to figure out how to open it.

I mutter a simple destroying spell and the lock shattered.

"Stand back I'm gonna preform an unfreezing spell and they're pretty powerful." I warned.

As they all stood back, I uttered the ancient spell to unpetrify a statue.

I would like to say that we freed Morgan, went home and then won the war, but lying is bad.

As I unfroze Morgan, the thought crossed my mind that he has no idea what is going on. I realized too late.

The moment I unfroze him, he started yelling and trying to dismember us.

He swung for my head and thankfully I ducked in time.

"Calm down." I shouted. He then looked around confused.

"What's happening? Where's Victoria?" He asked.

"She's fine, but right now we have to leave or we won't be." I said.

"He's right you won't be." A gruff voice said.

We turned to see the whole army at the door on the verge of attacking. I looked over at the others, signalling them to get ready to fight for their lives.

"See you on the other side." Joseph said charging.

I ran and swung wildly at the immense army and the only reason we won was the fact that nearly everyone in the army was to crowded to raise a sword without killing each other.

Each soldier we killed disappeared in a cloud of black dust.

Eventually we made it out relatively unscathed and ran starting to make our way to camp.

"Hopefully Victoria is at camp already." I voiced out loud.

"One could only hope." Replied a familiar voice to my left. I turned my head and running by my side was Victoria.

  "What's happened?" She asked.

"Morgan made a ruckus when we unfroze him and with all the noise he made, the entire camp attacked." I explained earning some glares from Morgan.

"That explains why there's an army chasing you." She said looking back at the mob that was currently following us.

"Hey guys I have a plan." Morgan said trying  to run next to me.

"What's the plan." I asked. Any plan of Morgan's is usually dangerous and stupid, not Hama stupid, but still pretty stupid.

"You'll see." He said running ahead of me.

We made it back to the camp after lots of running and dodging spears. The first thing I saw was Hama stuffing his face with smores and the others watching in disgust and/or amazement.

"Guys get in a circle, now." Morgan shouted, as Hama stuffed the rest of the marshmallows in his pockets.

Once the circle was created, I could feel the hum of energy as Morgan was teleporting us somewhere.

3rd person point of view

Within a minute the army entered the makeshift camp ready to destroy those who had dared defy them, only find it empty.

"Where are they?" Questioned Bale. He was enraged that the most powerful people in the universe were outsmarted by children.

"They escaped to a different dimension." Answered one of the soldiers of destruction.

"And you let them escape?" He roared. The soldier was at a loss for words, for he never dreamed of ever letting the wrath of bale fall upon him.

Bale whipped out smoke dagger and threw it. The dagger found its target nailing the soldier in between the eyes. He like the other fallen soldiers disappeared in a cloud of black dust.

"They won't be safe there. It will only be a matter of where and when." He said smiling devilishly. "And once we find them we will kill them and destroy that dimension as well."
