chapter 1
The school hallway cleared as Annie, a 16yr old, tall, slim with a beautiful braided hair reaching her hips walked in. Annie was a school bully; made people feel less of themselves because she came from a rich family of Mr and Mrs Anderson. Her parents provided all her basic needs and more in excess. They weren't always around so they left a butler, a cook and housekeepers at her service, also two bodyguards who followed her almost anywhere. Annie took advantage of the incidents of her parents absence to do as she pleased. Annie had two female escorts as she walked pass. Goldie and Marie, they both came from rich families as well but non compared to that of Annie.
Marie and Goldie had been Annie's friend(more of minions) as far as they could remember, but weren't friends by choice. They were groomed by their parents who taught their daughters should be in the same friend category as their worth.
As Annie was lost with the attention she got from her fellow students as she walked the hallway, she bumped into Tracy, a new transferred student.
Tracy's mom was a business woman, so she never truly had a permanent home as they were always on the move whenever there was a new contract. Tracy's mom was a single mother. She had never truly opened up or been completely honest to Tracy about her father whenever she insisted to know About her birth father. "Drop it Tracy, I told you so many times that..." Tracy interrupted her.
"That it isn't worth talking about. You'll tell me when the time is right. Yeah yeah but when is it ever going to be a right time." Tracy completed her mom's sentence. It was getting too old and Annie was tired of hearing the same old story.
"Even just a photo. I just wanna see what the person that birth me looked like. What kind of man he was and what he was like. Why can't you talk about him mom, what did he ever do to you. You kept telling me I wouldn't understand but I'm older now, try me! I would understand..." Tracy kept insisting.
"Enough! Stop it baby, just stop!" Her mom shouted with rage. Tracy shifted back and sank herself in her bed as she held tightly her pillow.
"I'm sorry honey. I didn't mean to startle you. You know what? This is all I can tell you for now. Your dad wasn't a bad man, infant he was a gentleman, he was everything any woman could ask for in a man, he was everything and I loved him very much as he loved me." She paused as she turned and smiled at Tracy.
"You sound like you still Love him. You do don't you? Which means dad's still alive. But why isn't he looking for us? what really happened mom?" Tracy had a million more questions she needed to ask. Everything was like a puzzle that she desperately needed to solve.
"Come on. You're gonna be late for school. Get dressed quickly and get down for breakfast." Her mom concluded as she banged the door on her way out.
Tracy was unsatisfied. Like a child who was given only the tip of a lollipop to eat and the rest was taken away.
What shook her more was that as young and beautiful as her mom was, she had never seen her with any man. She had seen her mom a couple of times rudely chase away her chykers or suitors.

"Ah... What the hell and who the hell!?" Annie yelled on top of her voice.
"Was that supposed to be an apology or what?" Tracy asked in annoyance. The whole hallway began noisy as people began to murmur to one another.
"What? Apo... What? Are you crazy? Do you know who I am?" Annie continued to fuse.
"What a lunatic!" Tracy said and made her way to leave.
"What did I just hear?" Annie pulled Tracy back in annoyance.
"What do you think you're doing? Have you lost your mind?" The students on the hallway were startled. They had never seen anyone stand up to Annie in such manner.
Annie was a rich spoilt brat who cared about no one but herself. She used her affluence to bully people and get her way with things.
"What a minute. I know you." Annie said trying to recall where she had known Tracy from.
"I think you need to go to the doctor. You're even starting to hallucinate, and stay the hell away from me you hag." Tracy concluded and walked away, not minding Annie as she loudly called her names and commanded for her to get back there.
"Find out who she is and what she's doing here in the middle of a school session." Annie was pissed. She ordered the girls with her to dig out dirt and Tracy's background.
"Oooo... What are you gonna do?" Asked one of the girls.
"Just do what I asked you and leave the rest to me. She's gonna be sorry by the time I'm done with her." Annie added. She went straight to her locker to get her textbooks. Immediately she banged the locker, she met the face of a handsome dashing young girl beside her.
"Pete, what are you doing." She said with a shy giggle. Touching her hair and makeup to make sure she looked perfect. She had had an obsessive crush on Pete since there 9th grade but he had never shown any interest in her. Annie then made sure no girl got close to him. She scared away any girl that had eye for him or he tried dating hoping that one day he'd finally be hers.
"Good morning to you too." Pete replied with a warm smile, rolling back some strands of her hair behind her ears. "Did he just flirt with me?" Annie thought delightedly.
"Well, my parents are away this weekend and I decided to have a little get together party at my place, I was hoping you'd be my date." He calmly and confidently asked her, knowing Annie would drool at his offer.
"YESSS." Annie squeaked.
"Alright great. See you then, make sure to look hot." Pete added and waved bye to her as her headed to class.
"This is it. It's finally happening, he asked me out." Annie continued to rejoice.
"Well, technically, he didn't ask you out. He just asked for you to be his date to his house party. To be precise, he wants you to be his escort." One of her girl added.
"Shut your trap before I make you numb." Annie yelled at her with her hand raised to hit the girl.
"Hmmm ... Calm calm calm. Haaa. You know what? Nothing's gonna ruin this for me. Let's go." Annie replied and she dropped the heap of textbooks on the girls hand and walked... And they followed.
"What are you doing?" A student startled Tracy from behind as she wad busily eaves dropped on Annie's conversation
"What? Nothing. Who're you?" Tracy tried to change the topic.
"I'm Brooklyn. But you can call me brook." The girl replied, extending her hand to shake Tracy's in pleasantry. Tracy softly reached and shook hers and exchanged names as well.
"Trust me, they're the last people you want to get entangled with. I'm not supposed to be saying this, but I like you, and I'd gladly give you tips on how to avoid them if you want to get through this semester in one piece." Brook continued to tip Tracy who was distracted by a visible scar that stretched down on her neck from the back.
"What happened to you?" Trace interrupted Brook.
"Wha... What is what?" Brook asked nervously, aware of what Tracy was asking about. She robbed her hands, then her neck nervously.
"Hmmm. Nevermind, it was nothing. I thought I saw something. My mistake." Trace hastily apologized to Brook, aware she wasn't comfortable with the question. She must have gone through something tragic to have a scar like that on her neck, Tracy thought.
"Excuse me." Brook excused herself as the situation made her feel uncomfortable, but Tracy called back on her as she made to leave.
"Wait up. You were telling me something? Please go on. I'd like to hear all about it." Tracy pleaded. Brook stopped but didn't look back.
"Just avoid the drama class and the cheerleading squad and any other extra-curriculum class she takes. The rest, you'll just have to put up with." She paused and sighed with a smile.
"By the way, It was brave what you did earlier. You're the second person I know who's ever stood up to her, but I'd advice you don't do it again. It never ends well." Brook's voice got emotional for a moment. She went straight to class without looking back at Tracy. She didn't want her to see her facial expression, her sadness.
"Time for some good fun." Tracy mustered with a confident smirk on her face, as if she was getting ideas or already got a plan.
