* after two weeks*
With liquor swimming in my veins, I made my way to her table. She has been always there with that pretty boy of hers that I instantly disliked. Her head jolted upwards before she gasped, he looked at me too but didn't mutter a word.
Better.
I forced a fake smile in his face before I faced her again, and I could see her shiver slightly under her large jacket that I'm sure would cost a fortune. Her fork dropped to her filled plate, utterly speechless.
"Surprised, huh?" I asked, looking at her food and then grabbing her plate and the spoon she didn't use and shoving spoon-fulls inside my mouth.
"Hunter, you can't--"
"You remember my name?" I tossed the plate on the table and it shattered into hundreds of pieces. "How lovely, my Pearl."
The nickname shook her even more.
"Hunter!" she yelled when I grabbed her man's plate too and ate it all. I was hungry and they had food, what can I do?
"Pearl!" I snapped back, arching my eyebrow. "Yes, love?!" My voice came out much higher than what I wanted and she flinched.
"William, no!" she said when I felt arms circle mine from the back, pulling me away from her.
"Back off, you little piece of shit," I hissed and he didn't budge. "Back off before I deform your flat face."
With my threat being fired, he pulled away with me and settled back on his chair, his eyes narrowed to slits.
"William? What a royal name," I smiled to Pearl. "William and Pearl, I mean get married already. You look so fucking good together."
"Hunter, stop."
"Me?" I pointed to myself then chuckled. She frowned. "Oh don't get sad, I'm sorry I let you see me."
Sudden tears strolled down my cheeks and I wiped them with my sleeve furiously. She looked at me as if I crumbled into ashes. I don't like that look. I grimaced and moved away from them, from her.
"You didn't wish me happy birthday," I said, my vision getting blurry. "You didn't come see my new car. You didn't see our new couch. You didn't see how the house is. I changed the bedroom furniture, Pearl. It's different now.You didn't hug me.You didn't tell me you love me."
I looked at her one last time and saw a tears in her eyes.
"Pearl, I did a lot--"
"Happy birthday, Hunt."
"Thank you, Pearl. You're so sweet." Was the last thing I said before I turned and exited the restaurant like nothing had happened.
Like I didn't just cry.
