Chapter 27_Mistake

Emily drove out. She squinted her eyes, trying to get a glimpse of her car, but Jonathan was gone. He was a fast driver. There was no way he was going to be anywhere around.

She continued to drive in hopes of seeing him, thinking about where she could possibly find him.

After thinking for a while, the beach house came to her mind. She immediately took a left turn, accelerating more and more afterwards. She didn't care about speeding tickets. He was all she cared about.

He had told her that the house on the beach was where he went when he felt alone. And she knew how he felt. He felt like she had betrayed him. He felt alone.

It had been a long way there, but she had reached the beach house earlier. There was no sign of life there. The driveway was empty. Her car wasn't there. He wasn't there.

He hadn't gone to the beach house. He knew that she was going to find him there so he had gone somewhere else. But where had he gone, Emily wondered.

"Fuck," Emily shouted, banging the steering wheel. "What have you done, Emily. You're so stupid. You're so stupid," she repeatedly cursed herself, banging her head on the seat. She bowed her head on the wheel and cried.

She didn't mean to hurt him. She didn't mean to make him believe her so bad. She had been desperate to save her mother. She didn't know that he was going to fall so hard.

She lifted her head in one movement the moment she remembered he had told her that Gabriel had told him to meet him at Vale Hill.

He had to be there. He must have gone there. That was the only place she could think about. She needed to talk to him immediately, so she started the car and began driving.

She didn't see why he would go there when he was angry with her. Why would he go talk about marrying a woman that had lied to him?

Emily didn't have any choice. She had to try her luck. Besides, there was no other place she could think about. She doubted but was already driving there.

It was going to be another long drive, but she had to go there. She prayed that he was okay. He had been driving so fast, and Vale Hill wasn't a place for people to be running at full speed.

She didn't know what she would do if something bad happened to him because of her. She was never going to forgive herself. She didn't want to imagine telling her child that its father had died because she had hurt him.

Emily took her time as she drove up the hill. She noticed that the GPS had already been set by Jonathan for that location. She checked out every house as she passed, incase she could spot his car.

Emily stopped at the driveway. A bright car light came on the moment she came to a stop. She turned her car off

"Jonathan?" She said, shielding her eyes with her hands. She was glad she had parked in the driveway because there was no way out. And there wasn't enough road, except the valleys.

The car started running straight to her. Before she could realise what was happening, her car was hit down the valley by the car. Her car rolled down the valley, coming to a stop on the road below, tyres in the air.

Emily felt the pain in different parts of her body. She whimpered as her vision became blurry. She saw the blood dripping from her face before she lost consciousness.

Jonathan knocked on the door. His vision was a bit blurry from the alcohol he had had. He had been at a bar getting drunk. He couldn't believe that Emily had deceived him. It hurt him.

He didn't want to go home, so he had to go to a different place that she wasn't going to ever think about finding him. He didn't want to see her. For now.

Yes, he loved her, but what she did to him was unbearable. They had a wedding in one week and now this. It was hard to believe that he was going to marry a fraudster, an abdolute stranger. He thought he knew her.

Everything had happened so fast. He was drunk in love to get a hint of what was happening. Both his mother and Emily had acted like they hated each other. It felt so real. He couldn't believe none of what they shared was real to her.

Olivia appeared at the door when it opened. She was surprised to see him standing at her door at that time of the night.

"Everything was a lie," he said. "She never loved me. She was making a fool out of me." He began crying.

"Jonathan? Come in." She put his hand around her shoulders and helped him get inside. He wasn't very drunk, so it wasn't much of a struggle to get him inside.

She took him upstairs to her room so she could clean him up and put him to bed. She was still stunned that Jonathan David showed up at her door after expressing so much hatred for her.

She sat him down on the bed, but he lied down. She squeezed the bottle out of his hand. He had had enough of alcohol.

"She's a liar. You were the only one that loved me truly, though you broke my heart," he said, sitting up. It was a war for him to get up. "She only wanted my money. She's a gold digger."

"I'm sorry that I had to make you go through all this. If I hadn't left you, she wouldn't have been in your life. It's my fault," Olivia said, looking away. She couldn't bear to look into his eyes.

Jonathan lifted her chin with his hand. He just stared at her for a moment. His mouth slowly went closer to hers. She moved her head to him. Both of their lips touched.

She held the nape of his neck as he ran his hand under her shirt to her breast. She let out a soft moan as he touched her nipple. She moaned louder when he carried his mouth down to her nipple and bit it.

They hadn't had sex when they were together, and she regretted because, damn, he was so good. She had been missing out on a lot.

He shoved his hand in her trousers to the most sensitive place. She gasped as his hand went deeper. He pulled her pyjamas down and carried his tongue down from her breast to her stomach, her pelvis, until his mouth was between her leg.

Olivia dug her fingers and toes deep into the bed. She held his head with her other hand.

She didn't want it to come to an end, but Jonathan went straight to bed the moment he reached his climax. She fell asleep in his chest, feeling great.

She couldn't record the last time she had such a pleasuring time. She didn't know why, but she felt more connected to him now that they'd had sex. She felt like they belonged together.

*****

Jonathan's head hurt when he woke up the next morning. He held his head as he lifted himself up from the bed. With squinted eyes, he looked around at his surroundings.

He tried to remember how he got there, but all he remembered was leaving his house and ending up at the bar. He didn't know what happened next.

He groaned as he sat on the bed. He realised he was naked when he removed the sheets from over him.

The room door opened. Olivia came inside with a smile, holding a tray that contained a bowl of soup.

"You're awake," she said, walking to the bed. She sat next to him and tried to kiss him but he turned the other way. "I made you soup."

"How did I get here?" He asked her, confused. "What am I doing naked in your room?" He asked her, wrapping the sheet around his waist so he could stand up and get his clothes.

"You came here. We had sex— that's why you're naked," she explained to him, watching him throwing his clothes on. "Where are you going?"

"To find Emily. I need to talk to her," he replied, wearing his trousers from under the sheet.

"You're unbelievable, Jonathan. After what she did to you, you're going back to her? She used you. Can't you see?" She stood up and went to him. "We were meant to be. Emily won't love you like I do," she said, rubbing her hand on his bare chest.

Jonathan removed her hands.

"Stop trying hard. I already told you we can't get back together. This..." He pointed to the bed. "Was a mistake. I love Emily, and I'm not leaving her." He grabbed his shirt and walked out of the room.
