Epilogue.

Wedding jitters were a bitch. And Mijung was feeling them in real with an intensity that had everyone on their toes.

When Heejung proposed to her in the most romantic way possible, looking over the Seoul skyline and looking as handsome as ever, she had thought it would be alright. She was the happiest that day, not because of the diamond ring around her finger, etched with their initials on it but because it had been her only fantasy for a long time.

But she didn't think she'd be getting cold feet at the last moment. Right when she was sitting in the photo booth, not letting Heejung enter the booth to see her. She would end up crying and feeling guilty for it if she saw him.

"Jun," Migyung said now, sitting beside her and fanning her, "it's okay. It's just Heejung. The Heejung that we have known since we were kids. You know he's going to keep you happy always."

She sighed, running her hands nervously over the fabric of her wedding dress. The Hanbok her mother-in-law had got for her was really beautiful, made out of the finest silk and the subtle pastel pink design on the bottom of the skirt with the traditional golden design brought so much drama to the white of the rest of the fabric. It was so beautiful. She looked so beautiful and yet she was so scared.

"I know, Yun. I know. I love him... I love him so much but I don't think I can keep him happy."

Migyung was frustrated with the same talk again and again, she could tell but there was no way she was going to back out.

Just then, the curtain opened slightly and Heejae entered with a stoic face. Standing in front of the twins, dressed in a blue and red hanbok matching Migyung's, she put her hands on her waist.

"Kim fucking Mijung. Get your damn act together. Do you know how worried my brother is because of you? The idiot thinks you are upset with him and that's making him upset which in turn is making Jiwoo upset. If you don't stop my son from crying my head off in the next two minutes, I'm not giving you any gifts."

The threat, as Heejae had expected, didn't work.

Tears gathered in the bride's eyes, the girls panicking as they tried to stop her from crying.

"Fuck," Heejae cursed, "I'm sorry, Jun. I didn't mean it. Take your time. Let the idiot die out of worry. Let my son bother Yoongi as much as he wants. Just don't cry."

With a defeated sigh, Migyung turned to her friend. "Jae, you're not really helping here. You were better outside. Just go handle your kid."

With a roll of her eyes, she took the other spot beside the bride. "Oh please, this isn't why I came here. I really can't handle it anymore. A mom needs rest okay? Jiwoo didn't let me sleep at all last night. And you won't believe but Yoongi and his mom, both slept through the night. Not once did they help. I mean, what is the point of their existence."

That brought a broken laugh out of Mijung's lips and the girls relaxed somewhat.

"My mom isn't like that though," Heejae continued. "She is a light sleeper. It's the reason my only chance to run away was when she was on a business trip and I took it."

"You know, you better not tell Jiwoo all this," Mijung finally spoke with a relaxed smile. "He might take your example and run away."

Heejae snorted. "Well, with parents like us, it's inevitable but I don't want to think about it. I'd rather get this wedding done with and just sleep the day off."

Mijung laughed, looking down at her fingers, her gaze naturally falling to the ring and then beside the jade ring he had gifted her for the wedding.

"I'm sorry. I'm just afraid I won't be able to be what he expects me to be. I don't want to let him down. I don't want to lose him."

Heejae shook her head. "My brother has waited for this day for two and a half decades, I don't think you understand how much he loves you and wants you. Just the way you are. So rest assured, you won't be letting him down because trust me it's going to be the other way around."

She didn't fully believe her words but she did feel calm in their presence. The three of them together, it was just like the old times and that was enough for her.

So, finally, she gave her approval to let him in. The women did as asked and left the couple alone for a few minutes.

Heejung looked like a king in his white hanbok. His clothes followed the same colours and designs as hers but somehow he looked like proper royalty. He had ditched the glasses today and the way he touched the headgear, she knew he was nervous.

Still, he took her hands in his and brought them to his lips, kissing her hands. "You look beautiful."

She smiled, taking a step closer to him. "And you look handsome."

"Everyone is saying I look like a king. I'm not sure this is appropriate."

She laughed. "Well, I don't think your mom will let anyone talk her out of it. Not that I complain. Royalty suits you."

"As it does on you, my queen," he said without missing a beat and making her blush.

"We'll get through everything, right?" she asked after a beat.

He caressed her cheek softly. "Yes, everything, my love. Not to make unrealistic promises, but I want us to be together for a long long time."

"Yeah, me too."

And just like that, looking into his eyes resolved all her worries.

The wedding didn't pass like a blur, in fact, the newlyweds could tell each and every detail of the whole ceremony because they wanted to remember everything. They had been waiting so long for this day after all.

The advantage of having small, intimate weddings always showed when taking photos and even more when there was nothing but laughter at the dining table. It was a wedding to remember, despite how lowkey it was because everyone had been expecting it for years.

With the jitters gone and the couple officially married, the chemistry between the two was hard to miss as the night fell. Before they could announce their departure, their families said goodbye to them, letting them enjoy an early night.

They wouldn't be leaving for the honeymoon till the next night, so they could stay at their new house. And the excitement was undeniable.

Mijung expected Heejung to jump on her the moment the door to their suburb house opened judging by the hungry eyes. But he did none of that. Instead, he picked her in his arms, making her squeal and laugh in surprise.

Feeling accomplished at making her laugh, he stepped through the door, letting her take in what he had prepared for her.

Mijung gasped seeing the candle-lit path of rose petals. Her husband...husband walked on it, going straight into the backyard where a big tent was lit with more candles and fairy lights. He didn't stop until he reached at the mattress in the middle of it and sat her down on it gently.

He flashed her a gorgeous smile, the smile she had fallen for, and moved to the low table that had a bottle of wine and glasses waiting for them. He shrugged off his upper garments, making her breath hitch, before opening the bottle.

She watched his muscles flex deliciously as he poured them wine and then handed over the glass to him. She took it gratefully, taking a long sip immediately before looking back at him watching her.

"Was it necessary?" she asked, gesturing to his naked torso.

He grinned. "I didn't want any stains on it. It's expensive, you know."

Oh, she knew very well.

"Then I should take necessary steps to prevent stains too. I want to keep this dress well and good for years to come."

Knowing what she meant, he sat back, watching her as she put the glass away and stood up, her hands already untying the upper garments. He had to focus more on not choking on the wine as each layer fell apart.

Left in her white lace bra, panties and garters, Mijung took her time properly folding her clothes, not sparing him a glance. But she wasn't fast enough and Heejung couldn't take it anymore.

Laughter rang in the night as he got her under him, growling playfully in her ear. "Mrs Kim, you're a fucking tease."

Running her hands gently over his shoulders, she smiled cheekily. "I've learnt from the best, husband."

Laughing, he caught her lips in a deep kiss, a kiss he had been dying to have since the moment they were declared man and wife. Despite the ferocity of their hunger, the kiss was achingly gentle. So gentle, it brought tears to her eyes, some escaping.

They pulled apart breathing heavily and he wiped away her tears softly. "I can't believe we are really married," she breathed against his lips.

"You better believe it, wife. I'm not letting you go anywhere anytime soon."

"I don't want to go anywhere. This is right where I want to be. I love you, Heejung."

Overcome, he kissed her hard, taking her breath away. "And I love you, Mijung. This is our happy ending, okay?"

Biting her lip and controlling her tears, she nodded and pulled him to her once again, making their bodies one because that was the only way she could tell him how much she truly believed in their happily ever after.
