"things do get better
and dreams do come true -"

6 months later

Migyung folded the last box, pulling all the boxes together and tying them up together. Picking them up, she took them outside and left them on the floor to take with her when she left.

Brushing her hands against her jeans, she entered the room again, this time all done. Sighing, she hugged herself, her lips pulled apart in a proud smile. She had done it.

The shinny light coloured wooden floor paired with white walls and a handle bar before the mirrored wall was all she had ever dreamt of in her studio. The morning sunlight from the window and the unusually shaped skylight gave it the edgy, personal look she had always wanted.

A place of her own.

A safe haven for dancers like her.

For the lost and deserving.

"The place looks amazing," a giddy voice said from beside her. "When can we start practicing, Miss Kim?"

Migyung chuckled and turned to the girl with her hands full with takeout boxes. "Tomorrow. Let's rest today and eat."

Yeonseo nodded, her bright smile fitting right in the studio. It was a happy place. Just how they were feeling.

Things were going just how she had planned them, except for one thing. Although that made her heart feel heavy, she didn't let it bother her much as she ate with her first official student.

Life would go on anyway.

"You out-did yourself, Yun. The place looks amazing. I'll drop by tomorrow," Mijung said passing Migyung her phone.

The girls were sitting in the backyard of their parents house. The evening sun heating their skin even as a chill had started settling. It would soon be impossible to sit outside in the evening without blankets.

"We'll drop by tomorrow," Heejung corrected his girlfriend, taking a seat beside after placing the plates in his hand down.

Looping an arm around her shoulders he gave her a brief kiss and Mijung gave him one right back. Laughing they gazed at each other, lost in their little bubble. Migyung looked away, feeling a twinge of hurt but quickly recovering as her parents joined them.

"You should do a proper opening of the studio, you deserve the attention," her mom quipped making Migyung roll her eyes. They had had this conversation a million times.

"It's okay, honey," her father thankfully interjected. "Let her do things her way. And I'm sure it won't be long till she gets more students. It's only a matter of time."

Mrs. Kim thankfully let it go, the conversation moving onto more lively topics. Like Mijung and Heejung's wedding. It had both of them blushing and blubbering.

Migyung was greatly entertained by the way they were so uncomfortable talking about their honeymoon venues while her parents wanted to know everything. It was crazy how they had announced their engagement only after a month of dating. They had justified any concerns by saying when it's feels right, it is right. No reason to waste time.

She wouldn't say she wasn't excited for her twin. In fact she she deserved all the attention she was getting as a bride-to-be. She had never seen her sister so happy, glowing and just happy. She was happy for her too. She couldn't wait for the main event though.

Her attention was momentarily taken by her phone as the screen lit up. Expectations high, she opened it only to be disappointed to see it was a useless notification. Her shoulders dropping, she looked at her twin for comfort.

Mijung's brows furrowed in concern as if asking, 'No news yet?'

Migyung replied with a slight shake of her head before diverting her attention to the food. She might as well eat well, no point in feeling hurt over no news.

No need at all.

Late that night, she walked back home. The wind whipping around her harshly as she walked over the Han river. It was always too windy on this particular bridge. The Bridge of Life.

Cursing herself for not taking up Heejung's offer to drop her home, she sped through the night, not enjoying her walk anymore now. Keeping her eyes on the road, she almost didn't see the figure sitting on the railing. It made her heart leap when she saw the person.

Eyes wide, she approached the man carefully, keeping her voice soft although it got carried away with the wind as a truck moved past them.

The man turned towards her slowly, his smile blinding as he regarded her stunned form. "I'm not jumping off, don't worry."

Migyung scoffed, watching him carefully get off the bridge. His knees were woobly and one of his hands clutched the railing still while the other was over his heart. The fear was clear as day on his face.

When he felt stable once again, he walked towards her, his smile not wavering even as the strong winds pushed his dark hair in his eyes. "Miss me?" he asked when he was close to her. But not close enough.

In answer, Migyung punched him in the chest. Hard.

Hoseok bent over, coughing loudly as he rubbed his chest. Migyung felt slight regret but she was still angry.

"Are you crazy? You could have fallen into the water and it's fucking freezing. What were you even thinking? What kind of idiot who is afraid of heights sits on a bridge railing like this?" She pushed at his shoulder at the last word.

Hoseok, now recovered and laughing, caught her wrist and pulled her against him, loving the immediate warmth that spread through his body.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm okay. I'm here, you are touching me." He cupped her face, pulling her closer with his arm around her waist. Her hands slid to his shoulders, the worry still creasing her brows.

"You are an idiot," she said lowly. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"

His smile was now gentle. "I thought you would have found out from Heejae. Yoongi doesn't miss telling her anything, even if it's not about him."

"Well, my friend isn't as mindless as your friend. She knows how to keep a secret," she told him mockingly.

"Oh, is that why you never knew about her pregnancy until it was out in the news?"

This time she punched his shoulder.

"Alright, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I won't bring it up again."

"You better not." She glared at him hard before resting her head against his shoulder, too weak to fight anymore.

He hugged her tightly and dropped a kiss on her head saying, "I missed you."

She had missed him too.

Hoseok had a lot of things to tell from his trip to LA. Like how he had met so many people, worked alone for the first time in a while and how it was filming with a whole different team. It didn't make things easier that it was so hot in the US. But he had fun anyways. Gave him a lot of ideas for his future solo projects.

Migyung listened to everything with a smile and her full attention. She was more content watching him after so long and more so happy that he was back in their shared house. Their home.

When she had decided to sell her apartment so she could buy the dance studio, Hoseok had smoothly proposed living together in his newly bought apartment. Although he spent time at the dorm, as did she, this place was all theirs. The balcony of the apartment turned into a greenhouse.

When he was done talking, he asked her about the studio and she excitedly showed him the pictures she had taken today. She also told him about how Yeonseo had eaten a whole fried chicken leg, which was a huge thing for her. And then she had continued telling him about the way her parents liked to tease her sister and future brother-in-law.

It was almost two in the morning when they finally gave in to the exhaustion of the day. He held her close, breathing deep only to realise how faint the smell of cherries and cigarette was now. It wasn't like he wasn't happy about it, happy about her progress but he would still remember it fondly. Because it was the fragrance of the Migyung he had first fell in love with.

"I love you," he said softly in her ear, hearing her hum in reply. He wanted to let her know everyday that he loved who she had become and who she'd continue to be.

The time they had spent all these months, getting to know each other, learning their evils and the good side, it had been a heck of a journey and he expected it to continue being that. He couldn't imagine a day that would be normal with her.

A successful idol with insecurities he didn't want to admit.

A broken prima ballerina set to end her life.

Only exciting things could come out of such an union.

And this was their happily ever after.

The End.
