we say:
how dare you objectify us,
assume we're there to cook and clean,
there is more to us than just faces and bodies.
we say we are liberal, ladies,
we say we want equality and we want to stop
objectification to women
but what happens when we bathe in our very own
hypocrisy when we flock
for guys with abs and parade men in their underwear
like they did with us.
but it's okay, right? c'mon, they're guys. they're boys.
they can handle objectification. [are you saying we can't?]
they can handle being stereotyped as
the one should bring home the bread,
the one who should be capable,
the one who shouldn't cry.
who are we to fawn over guys in underwear
when we bitch about girls portrayed in sexist lights
and we do exactly the same thing to our boys
without so much of a bat of an eye?
who are we to get mad over people assuming that
we're going to be docile little housewives,
ready to wait on their every need
when we expect the guy to do everything for us,
when it's part of our nature to assume he'll pay for everything?
if you want to stop sexism, maybe start looking at both sides.
if you want to stop sexism, maybe start looking at equality for ALL genders.
