Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Just like Maho had said, the Federation unit arrived withing a week. The port town of Hawassa was flooded with hundreds of college age women offloading British origin Challenger 1 and 2 tanks. These would be the main tanks the Federation unit would use. A total of three hundred and thirty tanks were being off loaded. However just as the offloading was finished, the boarding for the schools who were leaving commenced. Chi Ha Tan, BC Freedom, Count, Maple, and Anzio had all decided to leave the island and head back home. It was a saddening day for all the high schools but with the reinforcements they would be fine manpower wise.

The command structure made during the beginning of the match was still in effect. Maho, Miho, Katusha, Darjeeling, and Kay would still be the five overall Commanders of the Federation team. And now, thanks to the reinforcements, Maho and Kay prepared a heavy push to capture the CP town of Homedale. Both Uncle Sam and Montana would be there to oppose them. Though with limited numbers and no reinforcements of their own Maho figured this would be an easy win. She was right.

Shells landed everywhere. In addition to Maho's fifty tanks from Kuromorimine and Kays fifty from Saunders the Federation unit gave a flat hundred for Maho to command. The battle was very mediocre. In fact, it was so easy it was boring.

"Twenty more on the left!"

"Coming from the right, a whole school worth!"

"Incoming!"

"We're taking to many casualties!"

"Everybody calm down! Gather at your defensive positions and let them taste American steel! We will not let our ground fall without a fight! Make our country proud of what we accomplish today!" Edward was screaming over the comms in response to the unholy cluster of nonsense being said.

"Ed! More are advancing straight down the middle! Its Kuromorimine and Saunders!" Hans yelled.

"Gather on the middle front! Let loose everything we have!" Ed responded.

"Firing!" Rivers yelled.

A volley of Montana's tanks let loose. Twelve tanks from Kuromorimine and Saunders were taken out. However, a return fire arrived and took out just as many.

"Adam, focus the Abrams fire center right!" Edward ordered.

"Got it!" Adam responded.

"There's to many Ed! We don't stand a chance!" Rivers yelled.

"I understand that! Just keep fighting!" Ed yelled back.

An American Tiger 1 took aim and fired. The shell hit and disabled another panzer 2. This was Marks fourth kill. William was getting ever more exhausted from the constant loading of shells. Austin had constantly kept the Tiger 1 moving and rolling to avoid impact by return fire. Hans was very adamant of the situation. Half of their team was already knocked out and the rest were barely holding it together. An explosion to the side proved this as Joshua's M48 Patton was disabled.

"Austin, keep us moving. Sporadic movements keep them guessing where we'll be! William, I know those H.E. shells are heavy but push through it! Mark fire faster, we need to take down as many as possible!" Hans yelled.

"Right!" The three collectively responded.

Another impact close by caused rocking of the Tiger 1.

"Geez, these Federation chicks don't mess around!" Mark yelled.

"Yeah but none of them got any spunk on my driving!" Austin also yelled.

"Keep focus!" Hans ordered. "Peter, whats your status over!"

"Not good! Nikoli's been managing but we're being overrun! There's to many!" Peter yelled.

"Ed! Ed come in please, we have to withdraw, we'll be taken out at this rate!" Hans pleaded into the comms.

"Hold your ground! I know we won't get out of this, they have us surrounded! Just keep fighting!" Ed ordered.

Many people groaned over comms but continued to fight. The battle itself was getting very heavy. Tanks littered the once peaceful flowery hills and impact craters destroyed what was left.

Maho gazed with her binoculars, her focus fixed on one specific tank. It was a Hellcat. Standing outside the hatch was Uncle Sam's commander Edward Hill. He looked so focused and steady. He was not panicking at all. In fact, his quick reorganization of the defense was done so fast that it impressed her. Her attack had costed her over seventy tanks so far. It was amazing the Americans could last this long.

In fact, Maho was envious of Commander Edward. He managed to stay cool and confident within the current circumstance. It was something that she herself had failed to do during her battle against Miho in the 63rd tournament.

"What now Maho? Do we continue advancing?" Erika asked over comms.

"Yes, continue pushing forward and break their defenses. Take down their commander's tank and the rest will break." Maho said.

"Roger that." Erika acknowledged.

Kuromorimine's tanks lined up and aimed. They sat like old line infantry from the past. On Maho's command all tanks let loose a massive volley. Nineteen of the American tanks were disabled from that single volley.

"Stay lined up and reload. We'll continue with an organized barrage of volleys." Maho said.

"Seems Kay's gotten bored of waiting around. She's charging their northern defenses." Erika said.

"Focus on our objective for now. Continue firing on my signal." Maho said.

Kay had ordered her forces forward with hope of ending this siege. She was very tired of this whole debacle. She wanted to continue Sensha Do for fun, not for the selfish wants of the Federation seats.

Her Sherman finally broke past the defense line and rolled through damaged American tanks. Alisa and the rest of the Saunders team were following her. Getting past the defense line caused even more panic for the American forces. Their aim became more sporadic, and desperate. Kay had her tank aim at a Tiger 1. They were directly behind it. The shot hit the Tiger square in the back disabling it.

Edward noticed Saunders too late. They broke through and caused discord to his already unorganized force. While that happened Kuromorimine pushed through as well and Edward was staring down the Commander of the German themed school. Her tanks barrel pointed right at his tank. Edward took a look around and saw most of his school was out. Rivers and his guys were also done for. This was a defeat.

Edward grabbed his com and spoke loud enough for the Female Commander to hear as well. "All forces. This is Commander Ed. Stand down, we lost." His arm fell to his side and in the next minute the fighting was over.

It took some time, but the boys were rounded and lined up. It would take some time to get all of them to Mishima to detain them. There were over four hundred of them.

Kay walked past the line of Uncle Sam high schools' crews. All of them were on their knees. The Federation women were asking all of them their names, school year, blood type and such. Though Kay saw all these guys were harboring dissatisfaction. They were sad and deprived of anything fun to lift their spirits. At least that's what she thought before she heard speaking.

"Oh, come on, if we only for a few more minutes my superpowers would have activated, and we would have won" a spunk voice came from down the line.

"Oh yeah? What power? The power of boredom and bad jokes? That would surly won us the fight." Another said.

"Joke all you want, I, got this whole thing figured out. Besides in time we'll be sitting comfy behind bars practically being served on by a bunch of girls. Every guys dream if you ask me." The guy said.

"More like an overly hyped wet dream." Said a younger voice.

That got several of the guys listening in laughing. Now the girls of Saunders had English classes as a course. They all knew the language and understood the boys speaking. To say the topic being spoken was not one they found interesting.

Kay, however, took an interest in the guy making light of the situation. He had the looks of a gunner. He had a bandana tied around his head and his sleeves on his uniform were rolled up showing off muscles every loader would be jealous over.

"You got me on that Will." The guy said. He then glanced towards Kay and noticed her looking at her. They just stared. Then he winked and smiled at her. Kay began laughing. The situation he was in was not one for jokes or flirting but yet here he was doing both of those at once. Kay could only smile and nod at him. He In turn nodded back. An informal greeting but one understood by both.

"Kay. We're getting the American tanks locked up. Can you help?" Alisa said calling her over.

"Yeah, be right there." Kay said walking over. While doing so she thought about the guy making jokes. Once back in Mishima she would have to find him and talk to him. Maybe get to know him.
