Chapter 1:Where It Begins

"Elsa! Elsa wake up or we're going to be late for school!" I hear making my eyes open quickly. "Ugh." I say as I rub my eyes, working the night shift kills me in the mornings. I slowly sit up and stretch, at less tonight is Friday, I can sleep in tomorrow before I have to do it all over again tomorrow. I sigh, as I look at the picture on my nightstand. it was a picture of my family at the park before we moved to Japan. I picked up the picture and looked at it closely with a little smile on my face. My father was holding my mother, his shaggy blonde hair with deep blue eyes, he looked just like me. While my mother had beautiful red hair that went past her shoulders and down her back, she had a mix of green/blue eyes. My sister Anna looked just like her, same eyes and hair expect Anna's hair was a little shorter.

In the picture, Anna and I were standing in front of our parents with a smiles on our faces, little did we know our lives were going to change in just a few short months. I hugged the picture tight before I placed it back on my nightstand and see my door slide open, "Elsa, we're going to be late! Come on, mother made breakfast." I see my younger and less patient sister already had her school uniform. I grab a pillow and throw it at her hitting straight in the face making me smile, "Sister dear, we've been through this every morning for four months now, I will be ready in five, don't rush me." I say as I get up and start to change while Anna closes the door and sits on my bed.

I roll my eyes and go behind my divided since I know she won't leave me alone until we're leaving for school. "Did you have another long night?" She ask as I look past my divider to see her looking at my work uniform, she looked upset and disgusted at it. "Don't give me that look Anna Marie, it's good money and it's not as dirty as you think it is. Just... Think like I'm working at Hooters. It's pretty much the same thing." I say as I put my skirt on and walk out from behind my divide with a ribbon in my mouth as I start to put my hair in a high pony. "But it's different Elsa, I mean this uniform is so... Short." She says making me turn to her quickly, "So are the shorts at Hooters, geez take a chill pill."

I knew she didn't fully understand why I was working there but, someday she would. I huff as I go to the bed and grab her giving her a hug, "Mom needs help with money, with dad..." I couldn't say the next part, it was still to hard. "Anyways, I'm just helping mom and I know you don't see it or understand but this job has the best paying job for a teenager and it really is helping the bills." "But I could get a job too Elsa! I'm sixteen, I can help." Anna says almost yelling but it just gives me a warm smile, she has such a big heart and she cares to much. "The best thing you can do for us is help mom with the house and cook dinner, please." I say holding her hand.

I know she was thinking about it until she finally sighs, "Fine, fine. I'll keep doing my part." She says as she grabs my work uniform and puts it in my book bag. She holds the book bag in front of her, I smile and take it. "Thank you."

"Girls, come on we're going to be late." I hear my mother yell as Anna gets up first and I follow behind her my book bag on my back, it was going to be another long day.

"I'll see you tonight!" I hear Anna yell as she runs in front of me as we get to the school so she can see her friends. I wave good bye before I start to walk into the school. "Here comes the Ice Queen." I hear a boy say as I walk by. "Is that her? Geez she even looks like a ice queen, she gives me the shivers." I hear a girl say as I walk by her and her boyfriend. "I don't know, I think she's kind of hot." I hear the boy say before I hear an ouch, I'm guessing she hit him. "You're such a pig Ben!" I roll my eyes, this was nothing new to me.

Our school use to be an all boy school, but about a year before we moved here, it was changed to a boy and girl school. You would think a year of having coed classes that everyone would make nice but nope, the boys still acted like pigs and the girls just took it. I on the other hand did not. If I saw a girl get hurt or upset by a boy, I stand up to them, I've also never dated anyone in this school. That's why I'm called the Ice Queen, because I have a frozen heart. "Elsa! Hello Elsa!" I hear making me break from my day dream to see my only friend Serena chase after me.

"How do I always get here before you Serena? You literally live a block away." I say as we reach our class room. I put my book bag down as she sits next to me until class starts. I see her shrug as she puts her long ass golden hair into two pigtails, god she looked like a Disney princess. "I didn't want to miss breakfast, and I'm not late so no harm done right?" She says making me chuckle, she dose have a point. "Do you work tonight?" She ask making me nod, "Yeah, did you want me to bring you a piece of cake tonight?" I ask making her give a big smile, "You know me well." She says right as the teacher walks in and class has begin.

"Oh my god I'm so hungry." I hear Serena say as we start to walk to our spot in the courtyard for us to have lunch. Only three more hours of class then it's off to work, man I need a break. This is my last year of school before I can start college and I couldn't be more ready, I'm ready to leave this school and maybe even go back to the States. "Oh no." I hear Serena say as I look where she's looking to see a girl in with long black hair talking to a boy everyone knows in our school. He was popular, he was the basketball V.I.P athlete and I guess you could say he is handsome.

"Another girl is trying to win the heart of Jack Frost." I hear a girl whisper behind me as we watch like it was a soap opera about to happen. The girl's hands were shaking as she walked up to Jack. His real last name is Shimo but everyone uses his English last name because I guess it makes him sound cooler? His father is Japanese while his mother is American, you know it's that love story that they meet when his mother was stationed in Japan for a few years.

"This is going to end badly." I hear a boy behind me say, we all knew what was going to happen and I'm sicken by the fact that we were going to watch it happen but at the same time, it's hard not to watch. The young girl goes up to Jack and clears her throat finally making him look at her. His gentle soft blue eyes look at her with an almost expression that he knew what was going to happen. "Umm... Senpai." She seemed so nervous, as she should be. Jack smile softly, "Ito-San, what is the honor of having a pretty girl like you talking to me today?"

God it was hard not to do an eye roll with him talking like that. But the girl just smiled, if I remember right, her name is Yoki Ito, she was a second year student which was normal for a second year to talk to Jack, everyone who was in their third or fourth year knew not to go near him. I watch as her cheeks got red and she bowed her head as she holds out a letter that I didn't even see her holding. I watch Jack's face, he still had that smile on his face but that's not what catch my eye, it was his eyes. His ocean blue eyes that had a tint of gray in them looked sad, almost hurt.

"Senpai Shimo, please take this note as a letter of my love for you. I would be honored to be your girlfriend." Yoki says, it hurt my heart seeing her like this and I wish we could stop her but we all know she won't listen to any of us. I keep my eye on Jack's face, his expression hasn't changed as he touches the girl's shoulder making her look up. "Ito-San, I'm honored of you asking me, and giving me your heart but, I'm sorry I must reject your feels to me. You see, my heart doesn't belong to you."

I could see tears start to fill into Yoki's eyes, "Then... Who dose it belong to!? Who is the girl!?" Yoki yells making everyone set back a bit, she was super pissed. I watch as Jack's eyes go down, he was done playing nice. "Who says it belong to a girl?" He ask making Yoki gasp before she ran away crying throwing her note on the ground. I crossed my arms as the crowd start to go back to their normal day now that the show was over. But I stayed there and looked at Jack, he wasn't laughing at his joke but he also wasn't feeling bad for hurting a young girls heart. "Don't do it Elsa-Chan." Serena says knowing very well what I was going to do. But she should also know I don't listen very well.

I start to walk to Jack, all you can hear is my heels as I walk to him. "Frost-San." I say making him stop and turn to me, I see another smile go on his lips. "Moon-Chan, what can I do for you?" Jack ask making my cheeks get red, did he just use Chan on me? I would deal with that later, right now I have to deal with this. "Why would you embarrass that poor girl like that?" I ask making Jack raise an eyebrow, "Embarrass her? She should of knew it was going to happen." He says making me more anger, "But why did you have to tease her saying you like men? We all know you're not like that." I say as I cross my arms again.

I hear Jack huff, "If I didn't know any better Moon-Chan, I'd say you're jealous." "Jea... Jealous? Of what?" I ask with a small chuckle, he must be crazy. I see Jack set up closer to me, our face inches from each other. I held my ground but I really wanted to step back. "You know, we've know each other for a year now, and you still won't call me by my first name. Why is that?" I darken my glare at him, "We're not friends, and you don't use my first name either and I'm hoping it because you respect me." I say God he is way to close.

I watch as Jack gives me a half smile, and I hated to admit it but it was sexy. I hate how well he knows how to get girls wire up. He takes another step at me making me step back hitting my back to a wall. I keep my eyes on his even though from the corner I can see him put his hand on the wall helping him lend in to my ear. "I do respect you Moon-Chan, I do but that's not why I don't call you by your first name. I'm just waiting for the right moment." He whispers in my ear before he finally backs up and starts to walk away.

I can feel my heart beat a mile a minute, that bastard. "Frost-San! We're not done talking!" I yell. I watch as he waves his hand at me, still not looking at me, "Until next time." I can feel my blood boil watching him walk away, "Oh when I get my hands on him." I whisper kind of imaging my hands strangling his perfect little neck. "I told you to let it go." I hear Serena next to me say, I should of guessed she was watching from a distance. "He just gets you so hot and bothered." She says as she grabs my arm and starts to pull me away so we can have lunch. I knew it was going to take me hours to cool down, I just wish I didn't have to work tonight to deal with it. I sigh as. I follow Serena, lord it was already a long day.

After school, I say goodbye to Serena and tell Anna I would see her tonight to not make dinner for me as I walked to the bus stop to get to work. Waiting on the bus I see a poster that reminding me where I was going. In Japan, there are different kind of cafes. You have the cat cafe where you can drink tea and play with cats (dream job goals) and there cosplay cafes, that's where I work. As I see my stop come up, I start to get my backpack ready to go and get off the bus. "Well, what's a pretty young girl going to downtown Tokyo today?" I hear behind me making me angry.

"Look..." I say as I turn around making me bump right into the guy, I didn't know he was so close. I look up and feel my eyes widen, you got to be kidding me. "Hey Moon-Chan, long time no see." I see Jack Frost standing super close to me, again with a big goofy smile on his face. "What are you doing here?" I shutter I was not ready to see him, and I was not ready for him to be so close to me or where I work. Jack puts up a finger and wiggles it, "Oh no, I ask first, what are you doing here?" He ask making me huff, "That's none of your business." I say and turn back around to face the door.

I feel the bus come to a stop as the doors open and I quickly step out. I take a deep breath happy to be out of that situation. I star to walk only being a block or two away from my work when I hear footsteps coming fast behind me. "Whoa, I thought I lost you back there." I hear beside me making my body stiffen up. I look and gasp, what the hell!? Jack was walk right by me with that damn smile on his face again. "What are you doing!?" I ask. "I'm going to walk with you until you get where you're going. I know you're the Ice Queen and all but downtown Tokyo can be dangerous." Jack says with a look of concern on his face.

"Look, that's nice of you, which is weird coming from you. But I don't need protection, I work down here so it's fine." I wish I could of slapped myself, WHY DID I TELL HIM THAT!? "Oh yeah? Where do you work?" Jack ask making me stop and turn to him, "Don't worry about it. Now please leave me alone, I'm going to be late." I say as I turn and try to run off but I feel something grab my hand making me stop. "Moon-Chan." I hear Jack say as I look behind me seeing he was the one who grabbed me. "I'm trying to be a friend." He says and I see that look again in his eyes, the same look he gave Yoki.

I pull my hand back, "I don't need a friend like you, so back off." I yell as I start to run off, what is with that guy? I keep running until I feel I'm more in the crowed to cover me up so he can't find me. As I start to slow down, I look down at my hand. It still felt warm from his touch and I couldn't get that look that he was giving me out of my mind. Maybe I was being a little to harsh on him? I shook that thought away fast, there is no way. Jack Frost is a jerk who likes to play with hearts, that's all.

I finally reach my work with just enough time to change into my uniform. As I put on my dress and start to tie it I hear the locker room door open. "Oh there you are Elsa, you're running late on your time today." I hear my boss Satō-San say making me glare at her, "I'm not late on my time." I say making her laugh, Akari Satō is a young business owner who built this cafe from the ground up. After her late husband past away, she wanted to have something to keep her mind off of it. So she built Cafe Maid, and business was great and I think it helps her keep her mind off of her lost love.

"Right, here let me tie the back for you." Akari says as she walks up to me and ties my ribbon in the back. I see she pulled her blonde hair back in a pony and she was already wearing her blue maid dress showing she was the boss. All the other employees wore black maid dresses. "Are you okay Elsa? You seem a little flush." She says and I look at my face she see she's right, my face was red and my hair was a mess. I sigh as I take a brush out of my bag as I take my hair out of it's pony and start to bush it. "It was a weird trip on my way here. I ran into this boy from school and he just wouldn't leave me alone." I say as I finish combing my hair and put my bush away and leave my hair down.

It's rare to have my hair out of a pony, bun or braid but at work, I notice I get more tips if my hair is down. "Maybe he has a crush on you." I hear a new voice say as I turn to see my co-work Rei Hino, she let her black hair down also as she already had her maid outfit on too. She was a bit older then me and was already going to college, this job was helping her through college. I huff, "Jack Frost dose not have a crush on me. His just a stupid high school boy who knows his good looking and likes to play with the hearts of young girls." I says as I put my maid hat on and turn to my work mates.

I see Rei and Akari look at each other before they shrug and star to walk out. I take a deep breath and follow behind them.

"Welcome back Master." I say as I hear the bell to the door ring. That was the worse part of the job, calling everyone Master or Misstress (even though we really don't get a lot of woman that in this shop.) I walk over the table that the young man sat at and gave him my best smile, "It's so good to see you again, what would like?" I say as the guy made goo goo eyes at me. "Umm... some green tea and a piece of your monthly special cake." The man says as his eyes go down to my chest. I could feel the angry building in me but I just smiled and nod as I run off.

If anyone at the school beside Serena and Anna knew I worked here, I wold die and my reputation of being the Ice Queen would be over with. I take the man back his tea and cake as I hear the bell ring again. I turn to the door and bow, "Welcome back Master." I say as I see a pair of shoes step up to me. "Elsa?" I hear making my heart stop, no... Please no. I raise my head up to see two ocean eyes that looked shocked and a handsome shocked face to go with them.

"Ja... Jack?" I say as Jack looked at me keeping his eyes on mine. Until finally I see him smile, "Well... Isn't this a treat."

Hey guys! Here's chapter one of my new Jelsa story! I hope you enjoyed it so far as I know it's longer then a lot of my other stories I've been writing. As you can see it's base in Japan, I have never been there (though I want to some day) but have done as much research as I can on how use their names and surnames. If anyone who is reading this and lives in Japan or speak Japanese, I am so sorry if I did anything wrong or disrespectful. That is not my intention, but I would like to know if I did so I can fix it. thank you. I'm trying to work on making my chapters longer since now I have time. It just make take me a few days to write it and upload it. But I had a lot of fun writing it and have some great ideas for this story!
