Guys Night - Chapter 2
With several thuds, they all landed in a dumpster behind Percy's apartment. "Is everyone one okay?" Frank jumped out over the side of the dumpster.
A chorus of no's and yeses rang out. Nico tumbled over the side, "I can already tell this is going to be an atrocious evening."
Leo slung and arm around his shoulder, "No need to be grumpy mister, fancy grammar! Guys night out is going to be lit!"
"Absolutely not! You ae not lighting anything on fire!" Jason glared at him.
Leo sighed, "Man, you're so uncultured."
"Alright boys!" with Franks help Percy finally stumbled out of the dumpster. "While that was a minor setback, never fear! Guys night out can only get better from here! Let's head up to the apartment and set our stuff down. And I'm going to get a change of clothes..."
They all headed into the apartment building and Percy pressed the button for the elevator. They waited. And waited. And waited... And waited......
"Percy, I don't think the elevator is working." Jason sighed, "You can stop button mashing now."
"But why?!" he gave the elevator a kick. "Stupid piece of junk!"
"What floor do you live on?" Frank asked, afraid of the answer.
Percy hung his head, "23..."
They all groaned. Jason turned to Nico, "Can you shadow travel us up?"
He shook his head, "I'm still too drained from the last one."
Jason sighed, "Looks like we're taking the stairs..."
"I hate this night already." Nico grumbled as they all made their way to the stairwell, for a very very very long climb...
~time skip~
"Are we there yet?"
"Leo, if you ask that one more time, I'm going to strike you with a lightning bolt.
"Please don't." Frank panted. "You'd just end up... killing all of us..."
Percy sighed as the rounded the next set of stairs. "We're almost there..."
Nico let out a long groan, "Jason... how are you so... chipper?"
"Um well..." he looked away.
Leo looked down, "Wait a second, you're hovering an inch above the ground! You aren't even walking!"
"What?!" they all glared at him.
He blushed, "Sorry, I just figured I should take advantage of it."
Percy angrily continued to climb the stairs, "As soon as my legs are no longer literally on fire, I'm going to kill you."
"Technically your legs aren't 'literally' on fire." Nico added unhelpfully.
Percy continued climbing, "As soon as I'm done with Jason, I'm killing you next."
"Please do. End my suffering." Frank looked at him in horror.
"No one is getting killed on my watch!" they rounded another staircase.
"Just two more flights!" Leo said excitedly. "Anyone want to race?"
"Congrats Leo, you just made the list." Percy said sarcastically. "Take a number and your death will be enforced after Jason and Nico."
"How come Frank isn't on the list?" Leo grumbled.
"Because Frank is the best of us. He has the ability to turn into any animal, yet he is walking up these stairs with us in solidarity! I would literally die for him." He replied.
Nico rolled his eyes. "You would die for a random stranger Mr. loyalty is my fatal flaw."
"I apologize Jason, your death will have to be postponed." He glared at Nico. "Nico has moved up on the list."
He threw his hands up in the air. "Thank the gods! Then I won't have to deal with this dumpster fire of an evening!"
Before Percy had a chance to fire back, Frank let out a sigh of relief. "We made it!" Sure enough, they finally reached floor 23.
Percy unlocked the door, and they all at once collapsed onto the floor. "I'm never skipping leg day again!" Leo rubbed his legs. "I think they've gone numb, but I can't be sure."
"How is it, I have fought in two wars with literal gods, and I can't even climb some lousy stairs?!" he held two fingers up for emphasis. "Two!"
Jason was leaning against a wall, "Well that was fun. When are we heading back down?"
"No no no." Percy shook his finger, still laying on the ground. He then gestured to the balcony, "You sir, are flying us down."
Jason sighed, "Fine. But you get to explain it to Chiron if a mortal sees through the mist."
Frank waved him off, "I'm sure it'll be fine."
They all finished putting their stuff away and getting changed. "Alright!" Percy stood in front of them. "I know Guys Night Out has started out a little rough, but we can still turn things around! What should we do now?"
Frank sighed, "I think I'm too tired to bowl. It requires too much physical exertion."
Percy looked down, "That is true. Okay, then what should we do?"
"We could see a movie?" Jason suggested.
"I'm down for a movie." Leo added. "Just nothing sad. And no chic flics. And especially no sad, chic flics. Those are the worst." They all nodded in agreement.
Percy looked around, "Is that okay with you Frank?" he nodded, "Nico?"
"I could not care any less than I do now." He said emotionlessly.
"I'll take that as a yes!" Percy grinned. "We'll go see the movie, then we can get pizza. After that we can come back here and do whatever we went."
"Let the Guys Night Out finally begin!" Leo cheered.
