Girl with the red umbrella- sad end
- Hey, Ray - the ginger-haired guy dug his partner.
- What's that? - he asked back with uninterested voice; he had known Louis for long the man could not any more cause him surprise.
- Look at the new girl - he pointed at the mentioned one with his head, the brown-haired followed the other's movement then his sight settled down on the girl.
- What's up with her? - he asked after some minutes of silence.
- You're such an idiot. Can't you see? She's a natural beauty, look at those dark eyelashes, that nearly black, wavy hair, those enchanting deep-brown eyes - he said wondering making Raymond roll his eyes.
- Many women look similar - he shrugged and collected the dirty plates.
- You're a hopeless case - he sighed resigned; then announced to his friend provocatively - Then I'll show you my seduce-technique.
- I can't wait to see - he leaned against the restaurant's bar and watched the ginger curiously.
- Hi, I'm Louis, I don't want to take your time but what if we went somewhere after work? We can go anywhere if... - but the girl walked him round without a single word and picked up the order of the man at table 4.
- It was magnificent I learned a lot from you - the brown haired guy grinned maliciously with thumbs up then took the dishes to the kitchen and the ginger man followed him unwillingly.
~
- I don't know what the problem might be - he scraped his nape then turned to his dude. - What do you think I've done wrong?
- Louis, you haven't done anything wrong you're simply not her type it can happen - he shrugged then took another plate, decorated with gold, into his hands and poured detergent onto it.
- Still, she could have told me something, it was so dicey - he wiped one of the snow-white plates washed by Raymond.
- It was yet dicey when you walked to her, I could read it out of her eyes it would be a fatal failure.
- What? Why didn't you tell then? - he got huffy. Louis first found it strange but the brown-haired could read out a lot of things of people's seeing-organ; he found the saying totally true: „The eyes are the mirrors of the soul."
- I only realised when you were standing in front of her, it was almost the same then so...
- Okay, you're right - he sighed a big; then they heard the bell that signaled: one of the guests was waiting for its order impatiently. The brown-haired guy decided to go but the other grabbed at his shirt and announced by rolling his eyes:
- I'll take it.
- Louis, I'm really sorry I wanted to tell you but that crazy girl... - in that moment a dark-haired woman took the place of the ginger man and walked towards the kitchen without a single word by balancing a half-storey high plate-mass in her hands. - Ehm...
Shit - he thought in himself and his sight carefully followed the girl who passed near him silently then placed the plates, opened the water and started to wash them one by one.
- Don't do it like that - he stepped near her and took it out of her palms; he rubbed it stronger at the middle of the object and on the edge, where the decoration was, he scoured it carefully. - See, like this it won't get damaged; you know this porcelain is at least 200 years old and the owner adores it so we have to handle it carefully - he laughed what made the 2 heads shorter girl raise her stare up at him curiously and watched him with her big deep-brown eyes.
- What's your name?- she asked suddenly that almost made the man drop the plate that was in his hands.
- Don't you scare me - he let out a forced laugh; the girl had a tender voice but as he looked at her irises he found deep grief. - I'm Raymond but my friends call me just Ray.
- So you're Raymond for me, right? - she asked back smartly making the guy grin.
- Naturally - he laughed unbelieving.
- Magnificent, then enjoy the washing up, my shift ends within an hour so I'll serve people instead, hi - she walked out of the room.
~
- What's that Ray? Could you manage on talking to her? Did you get to know her name, her age or anything? - the ginger-haired stepped in excited.
- It is a slut - he laughed, then took another porcelain-plate into his hands.
- What's that? - he frowned.
- She didn't say anything about herself just made a joke of me and... that female annoys me - he stressed the last some words.
- Hoho! So that's it, our lil' stone-hearted Ray is interested in a girl - he clapped his hands laughing.
- Not at all she just pisses my mind off - he murmured.
- Then you're not interested in this, right? - he grinned smugly while he waved the girl's file in front of the brown-haired man's face.
- I didn't say it with a single word - he put down the yet clean object next to the tap.
- I knew you're interested in though - he opened it and started to turn the pages until they got to the data; as soon as they read them they both stared at each other with open mouth - Scarlet Shine, what the...? She's only 17 years old?
- Student-worker and she is this cheek? - he widened his greenish-brown eyes.
- What the heck does she do in such a dangerous neighbourhood; a teenager shouldn't wander alone this late.
- Keep cool Louis, she wanted to come here, such is life, if she gets raped then it will be her fault and no one else's.
- You're cruel - he shook his head. - By the way why would a 17-year-old girl work, isn't it strange?
- It's none of your business - a bit angry voice came from the door making the two men's surprised sights land there.
- Since when...? - he started by smoothing his ginger hair.
- It doesn't matter my data isn't your business though - she hurried to them and picked out the file from Louis' hand.
- I'm sorry - the hazel-eyed man moaned while the other didn't stop gazing at the much shorter girl's eyes.
- I'm sorry Scarlet! - In that very moment the TV-broadcast stopped in the room and the audience was informed that enormous rainstorm was expected so no one should leave their homes.
- Nah, wonderful, I'll need to robot here for one and a half more hours. What a fortune that I forgot my umbrella here last week - the ginger whimpered. Meanwhile Ray was watching the dark-haired girl whose eyes were fulfilled with lots of grief.
- Hey - he turned to Scarlet but she turned her head away fast and escaping under her nearly black hair she left her two colleagues alone.
- You expected her being nice to us after we had read her informal data?
- My dear idiot amnesiac Louis dude, it was your stupid idea to take a look at her file - he shouted at him.
- And you agreed - he shrugged, then served the marinated codfish.
- Asshole! - He threw the sponge after him.
~
- Finally - Ray stretched tiredly after he said goodbye to all of his still working colleagues; then took on his black coat, looked for his also dark umbrella and left. He was watching the rain that didn't stop for either a moment from before the shop then caressed his unshaven face, he has to shave as well, awesome. He opened his umbrella but as he turned left he bumped into someone.
- Oh, I'm horribly sorry I didn't notice you and... - he blinked astonished as he saw the black-haired girl. - And you? Why haven't you gone home yet? You should have been on your way for an hour now.
- I didn't want to annoy you - she opened her umbrella that played in the colour of red; the man's breath stopped for a while but he called the girl in vain, Scarlet didn't take notice of him. He had to admit it that she was beautiful but he was only interested in her umbrella that blood-red umbrella. Then, just as silently as she acted the whole day she walked away; Ray was watching her until he couldn't distinguish the girl's dark shape with the nearly shining umbrella from the heavily falling raindrops.
