"hi my beautiful baby girl." sigourney held onto her daughter tightly. sloane shut her eyes as she embraced her mother. she saw her mother and father when she did her press tour stop in new york but there never is a limit to a mother and daughter seeing each other

anything could happen and life could change drastically within seconds. sigourney rubbed her back then they broke away from each other. sigourney took a long look at her baby, "oh you look so beautiful."

"i get it from you." sloane admired her beautiful mother who looked stunning even at sixty four years old. sigourney takes care of herself and still is such a badass woman

they smiled at each other, "how are things going on set?" her mother asked as sat down in the chairs. sloane exhaled deeply.

"it is going good! yeah, i'm having a lot of fun with this movie." sloane gave her an honest answer. she decided not to tell her mother about what happened with ryan and blake at the chemistry read. she didn't want her mother worrying plus it doesn't matter now since her and ryan are getting along quite well.

"no problems on set?" her mom asked, just as sloane was about to answer her question she heard laughter from close by. sloane looked confused and frazzled seeing blake laughing alongside archie. she playfully hit his arm as they were deep in talks with one another

it was weird. yesterday blake had met archie and was very kind to him which was strange. everyone had picked up on her energy including ryan who could care less but also he kept eyes on blake not knowing what her next move will be. luckily she is supposed to be going home today.

"honey?" she clapped back into reality. "no! no ma'am, no problems!" sloane laughed it off but her mother knew her child better than she knows herself

"what's going on sloane? talk to me." sigourney demanded in a calmly manner. sloane chuckled, "mom everything is fine. i promise you."

"you know you can always talk to me no matter what. if someone if bothering you—-" sloane sighed

"mom!" she groaned out of discomfort. "i'm just saying!" her mother said with reason

"i'm not in elementary school or middle school anymore. i'm twenty one. it isn't the same anymore. i can't tell you stuff then you proceed to go to the principals office." sloane reminded her mother

sloane barley runs into any issues when on set and one reason being people know not to fuck with her because of her mother. of course sigourney is a momma bear when it comes to down to sloane. she just wants to protect her no matter how old she is. pretty much everyone in the industry respects sigourney. respect for sigourney runs deeper than a knife.

"i know that. but i want you to still be able to come and talk to me, for you to know that me and your dad are always here for you."

sloane smiled decided to calm down, "i know mom." sigourney was on the verge of shedding tears, "i love you." she couldn't help but to embrace her daughter again. the two held onto two each other for a few minutes before letting each other go. sloane wiped the tears off her mothers eye making her chuckle

"i have some good news." sloane announced deciding this is the right time to tell her mom.

sigourney waited for her to reveal the news with furrowed brows, sloane felt a smile creeping upon her lips. "i'm going to be moving to new york." sigourney gasped out of shock

sloane has never been an los angeles raised kid. in fact she has never grown up in california. she is a new york kid. born and raised in manhattan. she always has loved new york but when she started getting more roles it began to be hard going back and forth.

at the age of nineteen, sloane made the courageous decision to move to los angeles full time. her parents were very supportive about it. they helped her move and everything. but deep down... they were a mess. sloane moving out of state and so far away from them had them absolutely sick for months. it took them a long time before they were okay again.

when she moved away, they barley ever saw their daughter. while they were struggling, so was she. sloane was terrified being on her own. she had been around her parents her whole life. being away from them didn't feel right. it caused her to fall into depression for awhile.

but luckily sloane has the resources to reach out to people when her mental health is deteriorating. she went to see her therapist about all of her issues and felt better after talking to someone about it. her and her parents visited each other as much as they could. sloane would mostly go to new york and see them

"where are you staying at?" sigourney couldn't help to ask. sloane bit her lip not knowing how her mother would react, "upstate."

upstate, new york is perfect for sloane. considering her level of fame and the fact that the city is getting so overcrowded these days, she wants to be away from the city life for awhile.

sigourney scoffed in a joyful way, "that's amazing! have you found a place yet?"

"i actually have, i don't know if i will buy it yet but it is absolutely perfect mom!" sloane began to babble, "it is a four bedroom three bathroom. wooden interior with hints of dark floral parents. stairs of course that are u shaped. also there is a library and an indoor and outdoor pool. plus, i'll only have two neighbors that live nearby, i'd say three to five minute distances."

"that sounds absolutely perfect for you sweetheart!" sloane just thought of something taking her phone out showing her mother pictures of the house. her mother began slowly scrolling through each picture captivated by how beautiful the house is.

the house had just been built last year with the couple who lived in it moving out due to job transfers. they only want the house for two hundred thousand dollars which is not a bad deal at all.

"hey i hate to interrupt you ladies but i just wanted to come over and introduce myself!" ryan said. they both looked up with sigourney chuckling

"you're absolutely fine." she handed sloane her phone getting up to shake ryan's hand.

"let me tell you, it is such an honor to meet you! i mean seriously you're an absolute goddess and were always on my screen growing up." ryan started to ramble, sigourney was flustered

she playfully rolled her eyes, "you're just saying that." she shooed him off

"no! i'm serious!!" ryan swore, "while i am a chicken and hate horror movies, alien was my jam growing up and still is!"

"thank you so much ryan, you're having yourself a good run this year with deadpool and wolverine." sigourney smirked

ryan dropped his jaw, "wait wa—- wait a minute? you watched it?" he asked sounding genuinely shocked

"c'mon i know i'm old but hey i love marvel and absolutely love fun movies like yours." sigourney mentioned

"you're not old." ryan quickly corrected her, sigourney shot her daughter a look pointing at ryan profusely, "i like him." they all began to laugh 

archie nervously made his way over to them. as soon as ryan noticed him, he dipped respectfully telling sigourney it was lovely to meet her.

sigourney had noticed archie from somewhere, "you're in the new alien movie right?" she asked pointing at him with squinty eyes

archie nervously laughed, "yes ma'am! have you been able to see it?" he asked

sigourney shook her head, "not yet. but i definitely plan to go see it soon." she shot sloane a wink who gave her mom a thumbs up.

"maybe we can go see it later tonight? buy the theater out?" sloane insisted to her mom

"yeah that'd be great!" sigourney grinned

sloane decided this was the best thing to do at the moment since they had a conversation going, "mom this is archie. archie this is my mom."

they both shook hands, "absolutely great to meet you mrs. weaver." archie said sounding honored to even be in her presence

"you too archie." sigourney smiled. "i just wanted to come over and say hello, i'll leave you guys to it." archie waved goodbye letting the mother and daughter be

"he is a cutie." sigourney mentioned

sloane chuckled, "yeah, we're um talking."

sigourney almost broke her neck looking at her, "wait, what?" she asked flabbergasted

"where did you meet him? how long have you two been talking?" sigourney began to flood her daughter with questions

"we met at a play and we have been talking for a few months." archie answered as the three were eating dinner together in a quiet restaurant in town

after hearing that sloane and archie are talking, sigourney insisted they all go out for dinner. so she could get to know him better.

"what play?" sigourney asked not even touching her food or fresh glass of wine. her eyes hadn't left archie who couldn't be more nervous than he is right now.

"romeo and juliet." sloane quickly answered. sigoruney quickly looked over at her child then back at archie

sigourney had a gut feeling deciding to go ahead and ask, "do you have any kids?"

sloane gritted her teeth, "momma..." she warned

archie nodded, "yes ma'am. i have a little girl." he smiled thinking about his daughter who brings so much joy to his life. sigourney held back how she really wanted to look at sloane.

"how old is she if you don't mind me asking?" sigourney asked playing it cool

"she is three, will be turning four in october-" his phone began to ring. he pulled it out of his pocket. he began to look worried.

he looked over at sloane, "it's annie. do you mind if i take this?" he asked her

"go ahead!" she assured knowing it could be something about their daughter. "thank you. i'll be right back." he quickly answered getting up from the table heading outside

"hey what's up?" they heard him say. as soon as the door shut sigourney let her daughter have it

"sloane!!" she sighed, "mom, please do not start." she begged but sigourney didn't want to hear it

"what are you doing? attempting to get in a relationship with a man who has a child?" sigourney confirmed more than asking

"it doesn't matter to me mom."

sigourney scoffed, "how old is he?" sloane shrugged, "twenty-six." her mother was taking it all in trying not to sound like she was disappointed but she doesn't like lying to her kid

"so you want to play step-mother while juggling your acting career?" she asked seriously

"mom, it is not as bad as it sounds."

her mom sighed, "when did him and the mother of his daughter break up?"

"they broke up i would say five or six months ago." sigourney questioned

"how do you know this man isn't in still in cahoots with the mother?" sigourney was asking the real questions that sloane probably didn't want to hear, but she needed too

"mom, they have to be in cahoots with each other all the time. they have a whole child together." sloane shrugged with sarcasm coming from her voice

they both looked out of the window trying to read archie's lips. him and annie seemed to be in a huge disagreement about something. he was clearly pissed off

"i'm telling you right here and right now, you need to stop talking to this man."

"mom—-"

"just trust me. if they broke up recently, there still could be feelings there. they have a baby together, she will always be in his life. he can have his cake and eat it too having you both around for his benefits." sigourney advised

"he is not like that momma. just trust me, please? can you just be happy for me?" sloane begged with her beautiful big brown doe eyes

her mom just put her hands up in defense, "if you like it, i love it."
