THREE PERSONALITY TRAITS
- Obedient. From her years in her adopted household, she learnt how to be obedient and obey orders. As well as that, being obedient means that she respects people with higher social statuses or with more power than her.
- Nervous & Shy. From being closed off essentially from other children; Madeline is very shy and hasn't got that much social skills to go up and talk to people straight off the bat. She tends to get blushful a lot too and has a few nervous habits.
- Creative. By reading and sewing, Madeline is very creative artistically. She loves to design clothes from scratch with whatever materials are available to her (due to how she's middle class). She also is creative from the reading influencing her with new opinions and ideas.

THREE LIKES
- Books, she absolutely loves to read books. That's her life and her only source of freedom from her life.
- Roses, who doesn't like flowers? But roses are her favourite as they are beautiful to look at and smells amazing too.
- Being happy, Madeline enjoys the emotion happiness since her life so far has been more negative than positive. She loves being able to feel happiness whether it's from books, flowers or taking on opportunities that allow her to partially forget her life.

- Fire, lets say she has bad experiences with fire and therefore she is afraid and gets panicky seeing and being around fire.
- Her home life, due to how bad her life has been up until now Madeline doesn't like to talk much about her home life. The only exception is with people she can truly trust.
- No freedom, she doesn't enjoy when she doesn't have the freedom to do anything. She wants to explore and live her life instead of what she had done in her past.

FAMILY LIFE
Madeline was born into a wealthy family known as the Devereuxs. However when she was 3 years old, her family home went up in flames. Not only did she lose her house, but her parents too. Luckily her father's servant got her out safely before she could have died. From this disaster, she was an orphan and lived in the town on scraps and begging. That was until a family took her in as their daughter, feeling sorry for poor Madeline. She was raised by them but was stopped from leaving the house and playing with other children, leaving her with no freedom. Her only freedom was reading books given to her by the family that took her in. As she grew up, she was taught skills of sewing and cooking only to be a slave in her adopted family's house. Yet she was saved when Cedric Cresswell offered Madeline this opportunity, she accepted of course for a way to leave the oppressive household.
