Jennie sprints from the living room chair and dashes up to her sister's room on hearing the scream of her name.

She opens the door to see her sister waddled up on the floor a console in her hands.

"A random stranger fucked my ass up in the game Jennie" she whines more upon seeing her sister.

Jennie stands still for a while before going back to her senses and grabbing a pillow and hurling it at Ginnie's head.

"Owwwww, what'd you do that for?" She says massaging the back of her head.

Jennie mutters curses as she turns around ready to leave her sisters room when Ginnie speaks up.

"Dad called today by the way"

Jennie freezes and returns her attention to her sister who had now resumed playing her game.

"Oh yeah? Do you know why he called" Jennie asks softly

"Nu uhn....he just cut the immediately I said hello"

Jennie releases a deep breath when she hears that. She smiles softly again at her sister who is glaring at her game tv like she wants to smack it on the floor into pieces.

She turns and walks out of the room then dashes to hers to get her phone. She dials a number and after a few rings the owner picks.

"Hello Matthews residence" an unrecognisable voice says sweetly.

'This bastard changed his name'

"Uhh hello please am I speaking to Martin...Martin Matthews?? Jennie says whilst pinching her skin.

"Yes this is his phone, who am I speaking with" the voice asks again.

"Sorry but I need to talk to him can you give him he phone" Jennie tries again this time picking out dirt from her nails.

"Well I am his wife and whatever message you have to him can be passed through me, and if you're not comfortable with that then GOODDAY!" the other voice says rudely

Jennie stands there feeling irritated when the other line goes off.

'Bitch you just stole a married man and you've got guts'

She sighs and dials another number on her phone.

When the lines connects she says

"Hello.....mum....we need to talk"

"Come onnnn big bro"

Jace groans again and keeps on walking shoving his baby sister out of the way.

The impact from the push makes her wince in pain.

"Owwww...you didnt have to push so hard" she says sulking

"Well you didn't have to stand in my way now did you" Jace responds with a smirk

His sister stomps her feet and makes her way to the kitchen also trying to shove him but to no avail.

"Youre sooo weak baby sis" He taunts

"Yahh I'm not that small you're just 2 years older than me"

"Youre still 15 Hailey" he says enjoying the way he's spiting her

"Geez big bro stop making fun of my young age" she says rolling her eyes

Jace laughs but is cut off by the doorbell.

He looks at Hailey and she shrugs while walking to the couch.

"Why are you sitting?" He says frowning

"I'm not getting the door big broooo" she says now turning on the T.V

Jace groans and throws her a frown before heading for the door.

He opens it and is met with someone he didn't expect.

(An hour earlier)

"Sweetie you know that its not as easy as you think" Jennies mum says over the phone.

"How isnt it easy just get the fucking divorce mum so he'll stop trying to contact us" Jennie says clicking her tongue in disgust

"Why don't you try giving him another chance"

"Mahhhh, what are you saying, he cheated...3 times....with the same lady, and fucking got rid of the first baby that bitch got, and she's literally my age mahh, I'm not giving him any other chance" Jennie says

"Look i know you're mad at your father. I am too, but then a divorce doesn't just appear and you sign and then over its not that simple, I want a divorce too but then its going to take time" Jennies mum says calmly

"He called Ginnie mah"

"What!!! When! Why? Did he say anything to her?!!"

"No she said he disconnected when she said hello, I'm scared he'll take her away mahh, she's not ours y'know"

Silence

"He's not going to take her away is he?"

Another silence

"Mahhhh!!!"

"I dont know Jennie, I dont know, this thing is very messy and if we're not careful we be on the bad end of the rope"

"Okay mum, but I'm running out of excuses to give Ginnie about why we're no more living with Dad, so please let me know when there's progress on the divorce papers" she says her eyes closed tight.

"Wow, you're really taking charge like the first child you are, aren't you Jennie" her mum says chuckling

"Goodbye mah", Jennie says

"Mum and dad are getting divorced?" Ginnie says from behind her, her eyes filled with tears.

"How much of that did you hear?"

"Dad cheated on mum?" Ginnie asks again ignoring her sisters question

"Ginnie sweetie be calm.and listen to me okay"

"NO!! HOW COULD YOU HIDE THAT FROM ME, DADS HAVING A FREAKING AFFAIR."

"Ginnie don't raise your voice" Jennie says calmly walking towards Ginnie who walks away from her towards the door.

"Where are you going-" Jennie begins but is cut off by her sister

"I need to get out of here. DONT FOLLOW ME" Ginnie says sniffing and then finally walking out of the house.

(Back to present time)

"Ginns??....you've been crying are you okay?" Jace says when he sees a broken down Ginnie at his front door.

She doesn't answer him and engulfs him in a tight hug. He hugs her back rubbing her nape softly and she hums in satisfaction.

"You okay??"

She shakes her head as more tears start to drop from her eyes.

"Whoa whoa, okay calm down and let's go sit then you can tell me what happened okay?" Jace says his hands on her waist as he guides her to their living room.

"Ohhh its Big sis Ginnie" Hailey says when she sees Ginnie.

"Whoaaa she's crying, are you okay big sis?" She asks again

"Its nice to see you again Hailey" Ginnie says chuckling.

"Hailey go to your room" Jace says sternly, looking at his sister

"Geez why you gotta send me away its not like y'all are going to do anything, you aren't even together anymore"

'She doesn't know we're together?' (Ginnie's thought)

"Just go to your room" Jace says groaning at the fact that he forgot to tell his sister about Ginnie.

Hailey finally huffs and walks away going to hide near the staircase planning to eavesdrop

"So whats wrong?"

"Your sister doesn't know we're together?"

Jace groans internally

"Ginnie, baby, I'm pretty sure thats not why you came here at 5pm crying badly"

"Sorry sorry, I'm a mess, I'm sorry"

"Hey hey its okay, now tell me what happened, what's wrong?, is it your sister again?

"Well yes and no....I just found out my parents are getting a divorce"

Jace mouth forms into an 'o'

"I'm really sorry about that Ginns-"

"No I'm not done, I also found out that my dad has been cheating and his affair girl got pregnant for him, but then she's no more"

"His affair girl??.....gone....is she like dead?"

"Not her Jace....the baby she got, she got pregnant for him.....-

"Oh my gosh, they got rid of it?!!!"

Ginnie nods too traumatised by what she just discovered to keep up the conversation.

"You okay?" Jace asks worriedly

Ginnie laughs and says "I'm crying here like a sap, what do you think?"

Jace laughs at her sacarsm and bring her in for a hug.

He strokes her back gently while saying
"Youre going to be alright, okay"

She wraps her hands around his neck and she's lifted by Jace to sit on him. They are about to connect their lips when the doorbell cuts them off again.

"Why the fuck are people coming to see me by this time" Jace says groaning.

Ginnie laughs but stops when the voice at the door speaks.

"Jace!! Open this fucking door we're late for our date!!!, you fucking tard, you forgot to pick me up, Open up I know you're in there!!!!"

Ginnie halts, disbelief in her eyes.

She looks at Jace whose face has gone pale

"Is that Vanessa?"

Matthew sighs as his girlfriend/fiancé takes his briefcase from him (I dont naturally like things like this its sooo cringe😑)

"By the way some girl called you, she sounded young and was demanding to speak to you, its suspicious.....I hope you're not cheating on me again" Mara says a scowl evident on her face.

Matthew ignores her and walks past her to the house's general phone to check the number.

"Its Jennie!....what did you say to her?!"

"I just told her she should pass whatever message she wanted through me since I'm your wife and she didn't want to and was getting on my nerves so I told her goodbye-..." Mara says but is cut off when she receives a hand to her face.

She stumbles back from the force and looks up at Matthew disbelief in her eyes.

Matthew looks taken aback by what he just did that he stares at his hands for a while

"Did you just hit me?"

Silence

"You fucking piece of shit!, did you just hit me"

"You're clearly stating the obvious though" Matthew says as he's about to walk away when he hears a knock

(Seriously why is everyone knocking on everyone's door here, I must be obsessed with the sound of knocks on the door😬🌚)

"You're going to regret this" Mara says as she storms to the kitchen

Matthew sighs frustrated as he walks towards the door opening it only to reveal his beautiful ex wife.

"Marisa!" He says eyes widening.

"Hello Mr Martins, I'm only here on official business, can I please come in" Marisa says her face void of any emotion.

He nods and moves away allowing her enter.

She goes to the nearest chair she can find and sits.

Matthew come and sits awkwardly opposite her. The air is tight and there's tension everywhere.

"Why are you hear Marisa?"

"Sorry to disturb you and your wife-"

"Shes not my wife yet"

"But I came here to discuss the processing of our divorce"

"Look I know I made a mistake but I don't want-" Matthew begins but is cut off by Mara

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE!"
