Chapter 12

Once she finished with her very long, scalding hot shower she went in search of supplies, ransacking the empty infirmary for some suitable tools, she even remembered to grab a lab coat with a face mask.

When she finally managed to find the hidden room again the tissue around his neck had seemed to be healing rapidly and the gurgling sound as he choked for air almost made Ginger feel bad that is until she flipped a light switch in the already dully lit room. That light switch went directly to a small lamp on a table in the corner the room and on that table were images of naked females, some happy, others crying and bound.

This guy definitely deserved this. It made her feel slightly better, made her feel justified, so she could ignore the usual feeling of guilt at taking a life. Usually she didn't get a heads up before on how dirty a sleaze the Sup was before she murdered them, they all deserved it, just some more than others. Ginger knew this would be one she didn't dwell on long.

She found out that his heart was actually on the opposite side of the average human and every other supernatural being she'd killed. It was pretty brilliant, because if she hadn't managed to crack open his rib cage and get to his heart he may have come back to life, slowly, but surely, maybe even after she completely decapitated him too.

What worried her is that he appeared to still be growing indicating by Fae standards Toby was probably a pup. This didn't bode well for her experiment, but it did explain her surprising luck at getting him so easily, even if he'd been trying to cop of a feel. A Supernatural was a Supernatural, usually equipped with inhuman strength.

Ginger knew how lucky she was up until this point, but still felt the need to point it out, hoping she would actually learn from her amateur mistakes.

"Let's put you on ice," she whispered before letting out a yawn. "Err, well, whatever. Ice water will just have to do."

Turning on the cold water, waiting for it to fill up the tub, hoping it was enough to keep the body fresh for at least twenty-four hours. She went back to the bed, contemplating whether or not she should sow up the parietal sacs and his chest so it wouldn't be so dirty in the tub.

She nibbled her lip, staring down at the mess of ribs, tissue, muscles, and organ parts. The fundic portion of the stomach was cut in half and completely disconnected from the esophagus and the duodenum. Originally she cut it off around the area of the esophageal and pyloric sphincters, then from there she kind of got chop happy and wasn't thinking when she did a transverse, a top and bottom, instead of midsagittal, a left and right, cut to view the storage area. She could've seen the whole thing together instead of chunked.

Ginger decided to chalk it up as a lack of sleep. She lifted a hand and rubbed her neck, grimacing at the tightened muscles. Bones throughout her body ached and the dull ache behind her eyes was for sure going to morph to a migraine if she let it linger without medication. In the past forty-eight hours she'd had a total of four hours of sleep. It had been two days a hell, the trip here, and then being surrounded by monsters. The only good thing that happened was that she hadn't accidentally nicked Toby's large intestine.

She picked up the guts and threw them in the body cavity, deciding she didn't want to take the time so sew everything back up. She was just too damn tired, but on a last minute decision the semen bloody stained sheet clung to his back side so instead of pealing it off she wrapped him in his own filth.

Finally managing to heave his body into the tub she paused for a moment to try and catch her breath. "I need to work out more," she panted to herself, thinking of how really lucky she'd been up until this point as a hunter. She went over to the sink, checking in the mirror that she'd had no blood splatters once she'd taken off the lab coat and face mask, before washing her hands and forearms.

Once she finished she grabbed her black rain coat and shoved it into the bag she'd brought the supplies over in. She'd cleaned the coat, but couldn't risk someone catching the scent of blood. She just hopped it was enough.

As she walked back towards her dorm through the dimly lit halls the fact that she'd already gotten one kill in, on a Sup that really deserved, though from Lucca's perspective they all deserved it, and it wasn't even her official first day.

It clearly wasn't over either as she ran into a solid chest that smelled of sweat. So either it was the smell or the fact that she was too tired, but this one didn't do anything to her hormones.

"You smell like death!" the voice snapped, jerking away from her and hacking into his hand.

"Well excuse me all to hell. I've had a very trying day," she replied back, and then quickly ran through what she needed to say to cover up the blood smell. "I started my period and it's like a gusher, I don't have any tampons, I haven't bathed or slept in forty-eight hours," she stopped when he'd held up a hand.

"That is more than I needed to know."

She could barely make out his features, the school really needed to consider actually lighting the halls at night for the kids with later classes.

"Who are you?" she asked casually. "Or rather what are you?"

He paused, cocking his head to the side. "Probably don't recognize me. I'm kind of dirty, went for a run and haven't showered either, so I know how you feel. Ethan, remember? I mean, I'm Ethan," he concluded lamely, giving her a sheepish smile.

Ginger raised an eyebrow as she examined him. It was definitely his stench that was turning her off, at least given her reaction to him early that morning. If only she could be turned off permanently, he was a Sup, a werewolf more specifically.

"Is Ginger really your name?" Ethan asked casually shuffling his feet forward allowing her a better view of his dirt smeared face.

She probably should have given a false name. After all, no one could claim vengeance on a ghost once she disappeared, more importantly they wouldn't have been able to find her if she'd given a false name. She never really liked her name anyway, had she been thinking, she could've made up a fun name. When she was done she could change it to like Missy or something girlish like that. It was one thing about Lucca, he liked girly girls, from what Ginger had been able to tell, only Ginger wasn't so girlish, but she was working on it. Sometimes those 'dates' he would go on would actually be real ones and those girls were prim and proper pinkie pointing tea drinkers. She'd hated watching.

"Hello? Is it not your name?"

She blinked. "No, it is."

He gave a small chuckle before shooting her an amused look, "Your parents either thought it was funny or were too stupid to realize."

Ginger scoffed and folded her arms. "Really? You're sitting there and gonna make fun of my hair color? Seriously?"

What a douche.

He held his hands up in surrender. "Okay, okay."

Ginger scowled and shoved her hands in her jean pockets. Now that her black rain coat was off she felt suddenly naked without it. Her scruffy, faded blue jeans with holes in the knees and a rip on her back thigh just below her ass weren't something she'd thought about covering when she'd thrown her coat on. Her main concern had been to conceal the weapons on her hips, which she now had in the medical bag, but now she realized for the first time how poor she must look. Aside from the fact that she was poor, she was in a rich school, with rich Sups, even rich humans, and she couldn't even afford a proper pair of jeans? Her shirt wasn't any better, but luckily it was just worn and not holey.

She tugged at her shirt, self consciously glancing down to the floor, only to notice her brown, originally white, sneakers she'd gotten at a Goodwill. Shoes with the sole coming off and shredded shoe strings probably were never seen at this school.

Ginger shook her head. This never bothered her before. It didn't then, why should it now?

"Um, well, can I walk you back to your dorm?" he asked.

Ginger jerked her head up, her eyebrows drawing together as she squinted at him with suspicion. "Why?"

He stared at her like she was crazy. Ginger thought he may have even snorted at what he perceived to be her stupidity. He was definitely looking at her as if she were anyhow.

You fuck! Just wait until you turn your back, she thought angrily to herself before taking in a deep calming breath. She couldn't respond like that, she'd done enough damage with her questions and answers when she'd spoken with Eve and Trina.

"You're unclaimed. Meaning you don't have a family. As much as I'd like to think we all follow the rules, it just doesn't happen. I wouldn't want a vampire hypnotizing you against your will."

Ginger sighed heavily. Stupid werewolf! "No, we wouldn't want that."
