Wounds
Gila felt the soft soil squish between her claws. Cookie Cutter was trying to shake the mud off her talons. "Ewww" she muttered. I new this forest like the back of my talon, but the Nightwings probably know it better. "Guys there's a stream up here." I said while pointing my talon forward. "Ugh I'm tired of walking." Lion muttered. "Oh is my little sister upset?" Glider teased. Gilder nudged Lion in the side. Lion then pushed Glider into a giant mud puddle. Lion the picked up a blob of mud and threw it at Glider. The rest of the way to the stream was uneventfully. When we got there Cookie Cutter's dragonet basically fell into the brook. Lion dipped her talons into the water. The ground had gotten softer as we neared the stream but on the brook's banks it was mudddy.
Lion's pov
The water felt cool on my scales. I sunk to the stream's floor. The water stung my eyes. Even though my vision was blurry I could see a red fish with pink undertones swim by. I grabbed it. The fish wriggled furiously in my talons. I came up to the surface and sunk my teeth into it's neck. Nice dinner! I thought. Glider never admitted it, but I was a way better hunter than she was. She stared down at me eyeing my prey. Good luck getting this out of my talons! I said telepathically. Glider just rolled her eyes and went into the water. Probably trying to catch a bigger fish. I ate the fish in one bite. Then I fished out a dried mango from my satchel. I was just about to eat the mango when Glider screamed. Gila rushed over to see what happened. I walked over to see that Glider's talon was bleeding. "What happened!?" Gila asked. "A fish bit me!" She exclaimed. Gila grabbed some cloth from her bag and started to wrap it around the wound. Tears started to roll down Glider's cheek. I just watched and rolled my eyes. She deserved it anyway. I thought. I guess Glider was to occupied by the pain to focus on reading minds. I walked over to a tree across the stream and fell asleep.
When I woke up the sun was beating down on my face. I stretched my wings they were soar from flying. I heard some noise coming from the side. I turned my head to look to see what was causing. Gila was standing by me playing with two smooth gray rocks in her talons. She looked at me and a smile creeped across her face. "I'm glad you're up." She said. "What do you want?" I asked. "Just follow me." She commanded and started to walk deeper into the forest.
When we got to our destination Glider was leaning against a tree stump. She glanced over at me, she then went back to reading her scroll. I sat down right by Glider. When she noticed where I sat she scooted over. Gila then preceded to hand us a gray rock. "Ok so today I'm going to be seeing if any of y'all are animuses (animi?)" Glider rolled her eyes. "So here are your instructions say something like stone hit Gila Monster in the talon." She said. Glider went first. "Rock I enchant you to hit my sister Gila Monster in the talon." Nothing happened. Now it was my turn. I picked up the stone nervelessl. "Um stone hit my sister Gila Monster in the talon." Glider glanced over at me I guess she read my mind and saw how scared I was. "Don't cry when your not an animus." She said teasingly. Just then the stone shot out of my talons towards Gila. "GILA!!" I screamed. The stone the hit her talons." She looked down at the stone then at me. Her jaw was touching the ground. "Wha... how?" Glider said leaping towards me. I was frozen I didn't know what to do. Then I said "I enchant Gila Monster and Desertglider to forget about the events that happened in the last ten minutes." I commanded. Gila tried to pounce on me, but it was to late. She then was standing there dizzy. "Why are we out here?" She asked. "We we're chasing a monkey but it got away." I said. "Let's just get back to camp."
