Chapter 9

*Gage’s POV*

 “No Gage, this is not a make out session,” I groaned and rolled off Adrian. “But we are done with studying why can’t we have a little kissing to reward me for my efforts.” I whined, she laughed, “Well when you put it that way.” She grabbed my head and pulled me down so our lips connected. The zings were back, just like always, God it was killing me not letting my instincts take over and claim her as mine. But she wanted to take it slow, and as her mate I would not push her into something she didn’t want to do. She broke the kiss and pushed me off, “Okay now that that is done you have to go home. I’ll see you in the morning.” I pouted but got up, I knew she was right. If I got home later than an hour and fifteen minutes after school ended my parents would kill me. I got off the bed just to pull her into my arms, “I’ll miss you Adrian, good bye.” Then I walked downstairs and out the door. I got home and saw that my parents and the elders were still having a meeting. The elders are the alpha, beta, third, and fourth in command. They make the rules and in this case say whether a rouge can be let in the pack or not. I walked in, and saw all of them in wolf form. They do that when they don’t want anybody else to hear what they were saying. “You guys can shift back. It’s just me and whatever you say stays between all of us. I know the rules.” They all shifted back, “I don’t know if she should be let into our pack. I know that she is Gage’s mate and all, but she might be dangerous.” I gritted my teeth so I wouldn’t yell at the alpha. That was one of the rules, I could not interfere even if it was something related to me, and since she was my mate it related to me. “Yes but it has been three weeks, and she has shown no danger, and besides, she is my son’s mate. Therefore should be let into the pack. We all know that it would be cruel to make a wolf be separated from their mate. I know what happened the last time we let in a rouge. He killed a member and his mate, but that does not mean that every rouge will. I say we give her a chance. For my son’s sake.” I smiled at my mother, she was great, “Alright we will give her a chance, but if she shows any sign of danger we are kicking her out.” I smiled, then everybody left, I looked at my mother. She had golden ringlets that flowed down her back, and baby blue eyes, then to my father, he had black hair like me, and brown eyes. I got the hair from my dad, and the eyes from my mom. “Thanks for sticking up for Adrian guys. I really appreciate it.”

My mother smiled, “Of course honey, Adrian is a very sweet and smart girl, you hit the jackpot.” I smirked, then my father walked up to her and put his arm around her shoulders. “Yes but I don’t think anybody will be as lucky as me.” She blushed and looked away, Oh My God, sometimes they act like they are high school lovers. I mean I know they met and had me all of the age of seventeen, but still. “Now Micah (pronounced my- kuh) don’t be saying those things infront of Gage, he doesn’t have to get any thoughts of us doing something weird.” See that’s my mom for ya, she thinks dirty things. I laugh, shake my head and head upstairs to my room.

Adrian’s POV

I lay in my bed looking up at the ceiling wondering what I was going to do about Gage. He was everything I could ask for in a mate, but I didn’t want to get him involved in my problems. Then I heard a knock on my door, “Come in.” I said, then I saw a little head bouncing in at the bottom of my bed. “Hey Tanya. What’s up?” She shrugged, hopped up onto my bed and cuddled into me, “Nothing, Merin left so I just decided to come up here and hang out with you.” I smiled and through my arm around her small shoulders, then Justin came barging in. “I have great news!” We both looked up at him, I saw his smile and new it was something good. “What is it Justin?” I asked, he jumped onto my bed and lay down next to us, “I found my mate!!” I squealed and jumped into his arms, “No way I can’t believe it! When do I get to meet her?” “Well she’s downstairs right now if you want to come down and meet her.” I squealed again, jumped up and ran down the stairs. When I got to the bottom I saw Maggie, “Maggie! What are you doing here?” I asked, she looked at me in surprise, “Well I came here wit Justin.” Then it hit me, “Now way! You’re my cousin’s mate? That’s awesome!” She seemed just as surprised, “You’re Justin’s cousin? That’s super cool.” We were both jumping up and down, and then we heard somebody clear their voice. “Well it looks like you two have already met. Tanya this is my mate Maggie.”

Tanya smiled and ran up to her with her hand out in-front of her, “Hello, I guess you are my soon-to-be sister in-law.” Maggie smiled hugely, “So I guess you are Justin’s great little sister that he has said great things about.” Tanya blushed and looked away, “I’m really glad Justin found his mate, I mean Adri has Gage, and I have Merin, so it is about time he found his.” Maggie seemed surprised, “You have already found your mate? Wow I mean you’re so young!” Tanya nodded, “Yeah but mom won’t let us mate until we are older, since she doesn’t want us to stay this age forever, but I guess I don’t either so it’s okay.” She said, but she had the faraway look she always gets when thinking about Merlin, God she’s only five and she’s already in love. Maggie nodded, “Well I’m sure it’s for the best.” Then Justin came over, and slung his arm around her shoulders. “Yeah, I’m glad I’m old enough to mate, or else I would probably go crazy.” She nodded in agreement, I just shrugged, “I have found my mate but we haven’t mated and I’m okay.” Maggie looked at me, “Yes but It’s easier for us. Have you even thought about what Gage is going through? He has to control his wolf, and that’s something that is hard to do! I’m surprised he hasn’t snapped.”

I thought about that for a minute, “Oh God I’ve been so selfish, I haven’t even thought about what he is going through! I’ll talk to him tomorrow at school.” Maggie nodded in agreement, then we heard Josh groan, “Baby are you okay?” She asked worried, but he looked pained, “You have to go to school tomorrow! That means I have to be away from you for seven hours! How am I going to live through them without you?” I rolled my eyes, “Get over it you big baby. You guys can just mate tonight so you can talk telepathically.” Justin’s face brightened, “That’s a great idea Adri! We’ll do that.” Maggie nodded in agreement,”Yeah that’s a good idea Adrian, thanks for it.” I rolled my eyes again, then I walked up to my room to get ready for dinner, then I groaned, with them acting all lovey dovey it was going to be a long night.
