Chapter 5

*Adrian’s POV*

I was smirking while Mrs. Kerney scolded Gage, and told him about what she set up for us. He looked confused for a minute before his eyes landed on me, and then understanding coated his features, while he sat back and smiled. “So can we meet at the library after school so I can help you on your homework?” I asked, he seemed pleased by that idea, so he smiled even bigger and nodded, before he looked back up to where Mrs. K was teaching us. I turned back to her; I only had to listen to what she was saying for about five minutes, before I drifted off.

*Gage’s POV*

I was listening to Kerney blabbing on about calculus, most hard thing in the world, I was super happy that Adrian was tutoring me. She was beautiful, smart, and I definitely wanted to get to know her better. I grabbed my phone and texted my dad that I wasn’t going to be home for a while after school. Finally math ended, so I walked off to P.E., the best subject on the face of the earth. Once I was dressed, and was out in the gym, I saw Adrian, she was talking to Maggie and her friend, his name was Chris, he was pretty nice, but he usually skipped out on math and had Maggie go to his house to tutor him and give him his homework. I saw Adrian laugh, since I had extremely good hearing I could hear it, and it was magical. I walked over to where they were standing; I smiled and said hi to Maggie and Chris. “Hey Adrian, I can’t believe we have P.E. together also, how weird!” She smiled and said hi before going back to talking to Maggie. I could not believe it; I had just been turned down! Okay not really but she hadn’t said anything other than hi!

*Adrian’s POV*

Wow I had just opened up my mind to Gage. Do you want to know what I heard? ‘Wow this girl is hot. I can not believe she was here with me.’ Please! It was just a class, it’s not as if we were on a date, which if I must say was flattering, and I liked it. I know I had lost my mind, if he found out who I was he would turn me in without another thought.

*Gage’s POV*

I heard Mr. Wanast call Adrian and my name, so we walked over and saw him looking very confused. “Are you two mates? Because that is what it has been looking like; and if it is congratulations to you both.” Adrian burst out laughing, and I couldn’t help it I started laughing too. “No Mr. Wanast we are not mates.” But don’t I wish we were! He nodded, “Well Gage, I would like you to help her out, if she has any questions answer them, I will make sure you are always on the same teams.” I smiled, looked over to Adrian who was also smiling, but instead of looking at the teacher she was looking at me. I winked at her, and I saw a blush creep up onto her cheeks, but instead of looking away she winked back. Then she walked away. Walked away!!

*Adrian’s POV*

“Okay, so you have to find what x and y are, then you have to figure out the rest of the problem, not that hard.” I said, I heard Gage grunt, I looked up to find him staring at the problem like it was rocket science. I burst out laughing, he whipped his head around, I caught his glare and started to quiet down. He ran a hand threw his glossy black hair and looked up at me. “This is the hardest thing I have ever done, I know I am a junior but I am practically failing, and I can not fail. Or else I have to face the wrath of  Bart Johnson, my father if you didn’t know” I looked at him, “I know the feeling, I used to be horrible at math, my father used to yell at me to get better, that is why I am really good at math. But now that I live with my aunt I guess I don’t have to worry about it anymore.” I mumbled the last part, God I don’t live with my family anymore, it hurt that they tried to turn me in. I thought they would love me more than that, but I guess they didn’t. “What happened? Why aren’t you living with your father anymore?” Oh God, what should I have said? “Umm… Well I ran away.” He looked surprise. Could I trust him?  I’m gonna have to, “Have you heard about the half wolf half witch girl?” I asked, when he nodded I continued, “Well I’m her.” I yanked off my glasses and looked at him.

*Gage’s POV*

She had just told me that she was the witch/wolf girl, I looked into her eyes, and they were gold and black. Just like the wolf I saw in the forest last night. “Hey I saw you last night in the forest, I was taking patrol and then I saw you.” She looked at me in surprise, then she looked scared. Why would she look scared? Then it hit me, she probably thought I would tell the rest of the pack. “Adrian look, I will not tell anybody. Okay? This will be our secret, unless you tell people. Please trust me on that.” She looked relieved, and then she reached across the space and hugged me. “I know you won’t tell anybody, I can read your mind.” I looked at her wide eyed, “I don’t have to, I can block it out, I just wanted to see if I could trust you, or if I had to compel you to forget. See one of my other powers is that I can use compulsion on people. I have three powers, I can read peoples’ thoughts, use compulsion, and I can transport, but that last one is only when I am in wolf form. I transported out of the forest last night before you could catch me.” He got up and ran out of the room. Oh Shit.
