"Cian!!!"

Cian knew he was in trouble seconds before the dean of their school barged into their classroom and glared at him with exhaustion.

Pointing towards him, Dean Ru called out, "Follow me to the principal's room, Cian."

With a groan, he picked up his bag and knew it was going to be a long day. A chorus of snickers followed him as he trailed behind Dean Ru with a heavy heart. He knew he was in trouble.

The question is, who would have ratted him out?

As they neared Principal Ahn's door, Cian's gaze met a pair of cold blue eyes, and he instantly knew who was the traitor.

Jade. The Elite.

With a smirk, Cian puckered his lips as a gesture of him giving Jade a kiss, and that definitely riled the other boy.

'Mission accomplished.' Cian thought to himself and grinned inwardly.

But soon his mischief was turned into mockery when their principal, Mr. Ahn, gave him a menacing scowl and yelled, "Do you know why you're here?"

Of course, Cian, being who he was, just shrugged and answered, "Nope."

'He knew why he was here. The whole school knew why he was here. But he wasn't a fool to admit the same.'

"One does not go into boys restroom and bomb things, Cian!" Principal Ahn let out his fury, to which Cian cocked his head to the side and asked, trying to be innocent yet failing miserably, "Then next time, can it be the girls bathroom?"

"What!?"

"Well, you said I can't go into the boys' bathroom, so maybe-"

"What are you talking about?" Their principal was pretty close to bursting his aneurysm.

"Principal Ahn, I really didn't bomb the bathroom. They were just colours and fireflies." Cian sighed, and as expected, it wasn't appreciated.

"What are we going to do with you?" Principal Ahn rubbed his forehead when Dean Ru intercepted the conversation. "How about we ask Jade to take Cian under his wings?"

"Oh! No! No! No!" Cian was sure this was the last thing he wanted.

"That wouldn't be a problem for me." The baritone voice spoke from behind them, and he wasn't even aware that Jade had entered the room.

"Principal Ahn, come on, there has to be another feasible option. Maybe I can come to your house and-"

"Don't you dare come near my house. Last time you were there, my wife threatened to divorce me."

"Okay. How about Dean Ru -"

"Cian. It should be your punishment. Not the other way around." Dean Ru patted his back, and all Cian could do was glance at Jade.

'Not him.'

Cian tried again: "I'll attend extra classes. I won't enter any bathroom -"

Moving towards him, Principal Ahn placed his arms on Cian's shoulders and smiled softly. "You're almost 18, and yet your powers have been dormant. If not for the faint bouts of power that you have executed in the past, the management would have terminated your admission from this school. Maybe Jade can help you. Learn from him, but in the process, don't turn our star student into a delinquent."

Principal Ahn was about to move away when Cian knew he just had to comment, "You're calling me a delinquent?"

"Well, I can't call you an angel. They don't go about causing divorces amongst their teachers."

'Fuck.'

"Jade. He is under you now."

Catching Jade's eyes, Cian mumbled, 'Let us see who is under whom.' And he was glad no one heard him; but by the look of Jade's eyes, it seems the former did hear his comment.

'This just got a lot better.' Cian grinned while Jade continued to glare at his audacity.

Cian watched the elite walk in front of him, and he had to admit that if it hadn't been for their ongoing rivalry, Jade would have been his friend.

Jade is someone whom one would consider a model student. Smart and not much of a conversationalist, Cian doubted if Jade even had any friends in this school.

His eyes gilded through the stark and contrasting beauty of his school. The structure was considered regal, and from the outside, it would look more like an old architectural wonder, yet the interiors were all high-tech.

The School of Gifted Excellency had four types of students.

Elites. Elements. Menial. Delinquent.

Currently, under Elites, there were only two students belonging to this category. One being Jade, and the second was his elder brother, Liam.

Liam had the power of healing. He could create any herbs he wanted. He could heal the body and mind. He could calm a raging mind as well as cause a rise in temperature. But, even though he is a man of great powers, his only aim is to help people, and the last Cian had heard of him, Liam wanted to be a doctor. He was elusive and seldom seen in school.

As for Jade, he has the power of the Red Pheonix. It was considered rare, and even though he had never seen it himself, people around him vouch for the guy who likes to keep things to himself.

After the Elites were the Elements. These guys had powers of earth, fire, water, wind, and space.

Then came the Menials. Their powers ranged from being hilariously funny to absolutely making no sense. Just like Cian's friend, Alec, who could turn any object into a pumpkin. Except for creating pumpkin lattes when they were out of pumpkins, there was practically no use of his power.

But nonetheless, he was better than Cian, who was the only founder and member of the last group. Delinquent.

To be a part of this school, one needed to exude powers, and as for him, except for his eyes, which would occasionally turn red, there was no other power in him.

He tried various techniques with the help of his friends and teachers, but in the end he just gave up trying. Maybe he would one day become a Menial.

Matching his steps with Jade, he pulled the other man into a hug, and whispered softly in his ears, "Now that you have me where you want, what do you plan on doing with me, Sugar Boo?"

Jade's ears went brilliantly red as
expected, and he turned to face Cian when, unwittingly, a boy jogging
bumped into Jade, and the former fell into Cian's arms. Jade wrapped one
arm around Cian's waist, hugging them tightly, and the other around his
head to catch their fall. But it was the sight in front of Cian that made his heart race.

Jade's transparent wings cocooned
them like an angel, and his eyes were a striking translucent blue.

Butterfly. That was one word that left Cian's lips.

(A/n: Welcome yet again to another work of mine. This is hopefully going to be a short story with no angst or very little angst. It's going to be full of love, hope and lots of flirting. I hope you guys give them a chance and love their shenanigans a lot.)
