"Where are we going?" I asked Nene as she dragged me along.

Why did she come here?

Eventually, she would've forgotten everything and lived a normal life.

Is that not what she wanted?

"Why did you come?" Amane asked, speaking my thoughts aloud.

Nene stopped running abruptly.

Amane ran into my back with an oomph sound.

"You could've forgotten about this all and just live a normal life... why?" I asked.

Nene turned to face me and slapped my cheek.

I moved my hand to cup my red cheeks and stared at her with a startled expression.

"I wanted to see the one I love. Is that so wrong?!" Nene yelled with an angry expression.

Love? Me?

"I wanted to save you from Minamoto. So why are you complaining?!" She sniffled.

"What?"

"Didn't you want to live a hundred years?" Amane asked.

Nene glared at him as if to tell him to shut up before turning back to me.

"You don't have to grant my wish anymore. Why did it turn out like this?" Nene sobbed, tears dripping down her cheeks.

"Nene..."

"You're an idiot. Why didn't you realise my feelings sooner?" She grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug, her head resting against my shoulder as she cried and clung to me.

I moved to hug her back, my hand rubbing her back.

"I'm sorry."

Nene looked at me in surprise when I apologised.

"I didn't want you to die but at the same time I knew you wouldn't just let Aoi die. I thought when you forgot you could be happy." I smiled bitterly, "I'm already dead. We can't always be together. One day you'll go away and I'll be here."

Nene frowned, "You idiot. I hate you. Why would you do all that for me?"

"You're the only real friend I've had since I ended up in this situation. Sure, I have Amane but it's not the same."

"What do you mean?" Amane huffed. (Jealous much?)

"You're not a girl." I turned back to Nene, "I'm sorry. I intended to never see you again but I'm glad. Even if this is the last time I'll see you."

"Don't say that." Nene huffed, "I'll get you out of here."

She held my shoulders firmly as she stared at me with a determined expression.

I smiled bitterly. I knew it couldn't be like this forever.

Amane grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly, giving me a comforting smile.

Nene started digging around in her bag.

"What are you doing?" I asked, trying to pretend this was a normal day.

"Look a puzzle." Nene held up a jigsaw box excitedly.

Amane deadpanned, "Do you realise the situation we are in?"

"We're done trying to extend my lifespan. The others can go home and... I'll stay here."

I frowned, "Are you giving up?"

"Do you not care if you die?" Amane asked coldly as he stared down at Nene.

Nene looked up and smiled at us, putting down the jigsaw.

"If you stay here you'll disappear. Or you'll become so jumbled up you'll become unrecognisable." Amane joked.

"Don't say things like that." Nene cried.

"Are you really sure about this? You'll be gone soon." I told her.

Nene stared at my blankly for a few seconds, "It's okay. I'm glad I got to see you before I go."

I jumped in surprise as a hand suddenly gripped my shoulder tightly.

Tsukasa smiled cutely when he realised I was looking at him.

"Where have you been?" I asked.

"No where." Tsukasa whistled innocently.

He clung to my back and rested his cheek against my shoulder.

I exchanged a confused look with Amane.

Why did he suddenly appear?

"She wants to give up. But you want her to live. If only there was another way to make that possible." Tsukasa trailed off.

Amane caught on, "If we destroy every Yorishiro they say the gods will grant you a wish."

"Is that really a good idea?" I asked.

Amane shrugged unsurely.

"Let's do it." Tsukasa decided and then Nene disappeared.

"What did you do?" I frowned.

"Don't worry." Tsukasa grinned and squeezed me tightly, "She'll be fine.. probably."

It was silent for a few moments.

"Let's go back." Amane broke the silence.

I nodded in agreement.

"Welcome back, Nene." I placed her unconscious body against the lockers.

I smiled sadly as I gazed at her sleeping face.

She's still going to die before she leaves this school. Though it's unclear whether it will be soon or not.

Amane glanced at my sad expression and smiled, "At least we can all be together for a little longer."

Yeah... I had a bad feeling about what was to come in the future.

I should consider myself lucky, I'm already dead.

Being able to enjoy my time here even in the afterlife should be a gift not many get.

Tsukasa had disappeared again as usual.

I still think his intentions aren't good but there's not much I can do to change them.

In the end, whatever happens will happen and I can't prevent it.

Amane wordlessly grabbed my hand and led me back to the bathroom.

It was like everything was back to normal.

Kou and Nene both showed up as they usually would.

Kou smiled evilly and tied me up along with Amane.

"You both need to apologise." Kou demanded.

Nene smiled nervously, "They already apologised though."

"So you'll stop doing crazy shit?!"

I stayed silent as Kou stared at me and then I smiled cheekily, "No promises. I'm sorry for keeping silent about the life span...."

"Are you okay now, Yashiro?" Amane added.

"Well.." Nene played with her fingers, "Nothing too dangerous happened. I met Tsukasa's assistant and she told me some things. She told me it was okay to not destroy the remaining yorishiro."

"Really?!"

After hearing that, the uneasy feeling returned.

It seemed like I had zoned out for a bit because now Kou was talking about kidnapping Sakura or the other dude to make them spill their plans.

There was a sudden buzzing noise that interrupted our conversation as Kou pulled out his phone and answered the call.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Sorry to bother you... but it's about the president. I think he's done for."

When Kou heard that he rushed off.

And then there were three.

It was silent for a few moments before Nene turned to leave.

She looked directly into my eyes before looking after with red cheeks, "I'm going to go too..."

"Bye." I called after her as she left.

I turned to look at Amane as I floated down to sit on the windowsill.

"I have a bad feeling like something really bad is going to happen."

Amane moved to sit beside me, "Me too... let's just enjoy whatever time we have left."

I rested my head against his shoulder and sighed tiredly as he wrapped his arm around my waist.

There was a sudden loud noise outside that almost gave me a heart attack.

We both turned to look out the window and saw the sky lighting up with colour.

A/n I'm so happy to have finally completed a chapter. I decided to leave it here since in the next chapter a new term will be starting and I feel like the arc has been wrapped up. There are so many mysteries it's killing me. I was so shocked when I found out Tsukasa is Hanako's yorishiro.
