~Y/n pov~

Nene ran into class.

"Morning." I told her.

She turned to see me and Amane sat behind her.

The dual haired girl stared at us blankly.

"What?" Amane asked.

Nene slammed her hands down on Amane's desk, "Hanako?"

He tilted his head at her, "Who? My name's Amane."

Nene turned to look at me before turning her gaze back to Amane.

"Why are you in the classroom? Shouldn't you be in the bathroom?"

"Nene, why would he be in the bathroom?" I asked her.

She placed her hands on us as we just stared at her.

A shocked expression appeared on her face as Aoi came over.

Nene quickly pulled her hands away, "It's not what you think."

"What are you doing to Y/n and Amane?" Aoi asked.

"Huh? You can see them?"

"Why wouldn't I be able to see them?" Aoi gave her a puzzled look.

Nene held her head in confusion.

This is...for the best. At least, I hope it is.

"Get away from me." Nene exclaimed pushing us away.

I sighed, we were getting nowhere. Okay, plan B!

Tears welled up in my eyes, "Why are you being so mean, Nene? Did I do something wrong?"

She began to panic, "Uhm...No I-"

Amane frowned at her and knelt down beside me, pulling me into a hug.

"Good thinking." He whispered in my ear.

This should get her off our backs for a little while.

She'll forget soon enough anyway.

"Yashiro, your hair is a mess." Amane pointed out.

Nene panicked and ran off.

I stood up, wiping the fake tears from my eyes.

"N/n, are you okay?" Aoi asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks though."

"I'm sorry. Nene is not usually like that." She continued.

"You don't have to apologise for her." I told her.

Aoi nodded and smiled, "Well, I'm glad you're okay."

She then walked away.

I flopped into the desk beside Amane as the teacher came in and the lesson started.

The whole time Nene was just staring at us.

Nene was talking with Aoi a few meters away from me.

Amane was playing football.

He grinned as he scored, running over to me.

"Did you see that?" He beamed.

I smiled, "Well done."

I handed him a water bottle, which he took from me, gulping it down.

Nene was staring at us the whole time.

I could see her in the corner of my eye.

"What's that tower?" Nene asked us.

We all turned to her.

"It's always been there, right?" I answered.

Everyone else agreed.

I was sat chatting with Amane as we ate lunch.

"Begone evil spirits." Nene exclaimed, pouring salts on our heads.

I shook it off, "What's with you today?"

"Do you not like us?" Amane asked gloomily.

"I'm sorry!" Nene yelled.

Amane huffed, "It's fine."

"Nene, until you sort out whatever is bothering you... please leave us alone."

"Huh? What?"

"You're being really rude to us. I think you need some space.." I continued.

"No, that's not. I'm sorry. I won't do anything weird."

I stared at her for a few seconds before replying, "If you say so."

Amane tugged on my arm gently, "Let's go."

I smiled at him, grabbing his hand as we walked out of the classroom.

As soon as we we're out of sight I turned to Amane, "Is this really okay?"

He had a serious expression, "I'm sure it is..."

His grip on my hand tightened.

"N/n! Amane!" Tsukasa came hurtling towards us.

We stumbled back a bit but managed to catch him as he hugged us tightly.

"Let's go to the rooftop." I suggested.

"I don't want to clean the pool." Nene whined.

School had finished but we had all promised to clean the pool.

"You said you would help." I huffed.

Nene froze, "I did?"

"Yeah, you did." Amane sighed and handed her the sheet showing who was doing it.

"Minamoto is doing it, too."

Nene's head shot up.

"The younger one." Amane added.

"Kou!" Nene exclaimed.

This doesn't feel like a good idea anymore...

When we got to the pool, they immediately found each other and snuck off.

I nudged Amane's arm with mine and jerked my head in the direction they ran off in.

"This isn't good.." Amane muttered.

Pulling out a water gun, I smirked and handed one to Amane.

"So you had a plan..."

We quickly looked around to see if anyone was watching and then went to were Kou and Nene were.

I laughed as we spray them with water.

They both screamed in shock.

Nene stared intensely at her arm.

"You okay?" Kou asked.

She snapped out of it, "Yeah, I'm fine."

And so, we all cleaned the pool.

The sound of Nene screaming made us all run towards her.

"What?" I asked.

"What happened?" Amane inquired.

Nene buried her face in Kou's chest as Kou pointed at the ground.

We looked down to see fragments of people on the floor.

Mitsuba laughed, "What's the big deal?"

"They're just broken."

"Right, they'll be back to normal in no time." Amane added.

Everyone else began to leave the area as they saw nothing was wrong.

I lingered nearby along with Amane.

"This isn't right." Kou yelled at Mitsuba.

"Stop it!" Mitsuba yelled, slapping Kou's hand off his wrist.

"It's doesn't matter anyway, this world isn't even real!" Mitsuba yelled and then gasped as he realised what he said.

"This world..." Kou trailed off.

"Isn't real?" Nene asked.

I exchanged a look with Amane. This isn't good.

"There has to be another way. I promise."

I watched as Kou and Nene walked out of the tower.

They put their hands on top of each other.

I grinned placing my hand on theirs, "What are you talking about?"

They both jumped at my presence and noticed Amane was stood next to me too.

"What is it?" Amane asked, looking at their shocked expressions, "You look like you've seen a ghost..."

Mitsuba ran over with a box, "I've got the supplies to bring to the roof."

"Good. Let's go." I told him as he followed behind me and Amane.

He glanced back at Kou and Nene, freezing for a few seconds before going back to following us.

This time, at a faster pace.

Nene and Kou grabbed my hand to stop my from walking off, "What's going on?"

I pointed to the telescope Amane was carrying, "There's going to be a meteor shower tonight!"

They both nodded.

"Well, see you there."

"Nene, do you want to see stars or meteors?" I asked her.

Amane was setting up the telescope.

"I'm not really interested..."

"Oh..okay." I muttered.

Nene perked up, "But if it makes you happy then I'll join in."

Tsukasa bounded towards us and jumped on me.

I stumbled a bit, "Oi, be careful Tsukasa."

He laughed, "Sorry."

"Amane, can you help me adjust the telescope?" Akane asked.

The boy in question nodded and went over to help.

"Being alive again...is kinda nice." Tsukasa whispered in my ear.

I nodded in agreement.

Amane ended up adjusting a few more telescopes before coming back over.

I climbed up the ladder and sat on the roof, watching as Nene interacted with Aoi.

"N/n." Tsukasa poked my cheek.

"Ah, sorry."

I gently pushed him off so I could lay down.

He laid beside me, wrapping one of his arms around my waist and snuggling into my side.

Turning my head, I saw Amane climbing the ladder and plopping himself in front of the telescope.

He looked for a few seconds before pointing out the constellations to us.

Amane peeked over the roof to see Nene stood by herself.

"Come join us." He told her.

She looked at us reluctantly for a few moments before climbing up the ladder.

Amane moved away from the telescope and laid down beside me.

Nene looked through the telescope in wonder.

"See that red star? That's the brightest star in the scorpius constellation. It's a red giant called Antares." Amane pointed out.

I already knew this but Nene seemed amazed.

Nene listened in awe as Amane explained the story behind it.

Breath hit my ear as I heard soft breathing.

Tilting my head, I saw that Tsukasa had fallen asleep.

He was curled into my side, his arms wrapped around me tightly.

His sleeping face was so cute.

Tsukasa made a small whine noise and nuzzled closer to me, pressing his face against my neck.

A small smile made its way onto my face.

Amane's voice cut through my thoughts, "If I look at it too much, it makes me want to go there. And I've made up my mind now. I'm not going anywhere."

Then, I fell asleep.

Yawning, I opened my eyes and stared at the sky.

Why was I outside?

Oh yeah, I remember.

Turning my head, I noticed Amane had laid on the other side of me.

His head rested on my shoulder and his arm was sprawled across my waist.

Nene was gone.

Isn't it a bad idea letting her out of our sight...

I gently shook Amane.

He whined, swatting my hand away.

"Amane, wake up." I whispered gently.

His eyes opened slowly as he peered up at me.

Sitting up, he looked around.

"Where's Yashiro?"

"I'm not sure...that's why I woke you up." I told him honestly.

He sighed.

I sat up too, dragging Tsukasa with me and he continued to cling tightly to me in his sleep.

My palm rested under his head as I moved it to rest on my shoulder.

I propped his body up against mine so he was sat in my lap, leaning on me.

"We should go look for her."

We both stood up.

I was supporting Tsukasa's weight so he wouldn't fall as I stood up.

He shifted, wrapping his arms and legs around me tightly.

"N/n?" Tsukasa yawned.

"Morning, sleepyhead." (You're finally awake Shuichi-)

"I don't wanna move." He smiled lazily.

Amane sighed, "Let's go."

"Aww, don't feel left out."

I smiled and grabbed his hand with my free hand.

Amane smiled back, holding my hand tightly.

Stepping closer, I pressed a short kiss to his lips.

His face turned slightly red as he looked away.

"Me too." Tsukasa whined.

I chuckled, giving him a short kiss too.

We saw Nene pushing open the school gates.

"Nene, where are you going?" I asked her.

She turned to us, startled.

"Let's escape." Nene froze upon seeing Tsukasa staring at her, "What's he doing here?"

Amane stared at her aswell before replying, "Nene, why are you being so rude?"

Nene jumped, "Ah, I'm sorry."

Tsukasa huffed, "You're rude. Let's leave."

"No. Y/n, let's escape to the real world?" Nene asked pleadingly.

"We're not going." Amane told her.

"Huh? Why?"

"This is the most fun we've had in a while. You're alive so you don't understand. Being dead is lonely. Nene, you were my only friend but something felt wrong. I was never truly alive when I hung out with you..."

"Do you not like it here?" Tsukasa asked.

"No. My best friend Y/n isn't here..."

"But I'm right here?"

"It's not the same."

Nene ran off.

Amane sighed, "I'll go after her."

I nodded, "We'll wait here."

Tsukasa got off me and plopped down on the floor, pulling me down to sit beside him.
