Third Person POV

As soon as Man reached the hotel, he went straight up to his office.

He called his assistant manager Tay from his office extension.

"You're back!" Tay exclaimed. "Thank goodness! I'm really swamped with work so it's a big relief that you can take over now. How was your trip?"

"It was okay," Man replied. "I'm missing Ben already."

"I'm sure you are," said Tay. "Just as I'm missing Newwie. You think I could get a week off next month?"

"I just got back, Tay," Man said, suppressing a sigh. "Let's play it by ear. If I don't foresee any additional tasks from our routine you can take a week off next month."

"Alright," Tay conceded. "You want me to walk over to your office to give you a report of things that happened while you were gone?"

"Sure," said Man, placing the handset back into its cradle.

When office hours were over, Man drove to his unit, already itching to make a video call to Ben.

Ben's tearful face appeared on Man's screen.

"I miss you so much," Ben said between sobs.

"I miss you too," Man bravely held back his tears. "How was your day?"

"Miserable," Ben replied.

"Tell you what," said Man. "I will buy you a round trip ticket to Tokyo. Spend your weekend with me here."

Ben's face lit up. His tears dried instantly.

"Are you sure, P'Man?" Ben asked, his heart beating fast against his chest.

"Of course, I'm sure," Man replied.

They talked some more. Ben told Man about a new project that the company had assigned to him and his team.

"Are you the leader of the team?" Man asked.

Ben hesitated to reply.

"Well?" Man prompted Ben.

"The team leader is Bright," Ben replied almost in a whisper, as if he didn't want Man to hear.

Man cursed under his breath.

"Does that mean that you have to spend overtime hours with him?" Man asked.

Ben nodded wordlessly.

Man cursed under his breath once more.

"Be sure to pack some swim wear," Man advised Ben. "I will take you to a beautiful beach when you come here this coming weekend."

"I will do that, P'Man!" Ben said excitedly.

Man and Ben kissed each other goodbye on their screens.

Ben started feeling lonely again. He decided to fix himself some jasmine tea to calm himself down before going to bed.

Ben was getting ready for bed when his phone rang.

It was Bright calling.

"Are you free this weekend?" Bright asked without any preliminaries.

"Actually I'm not," Ben replied.

"Well, clear your calendar," Bright said, "because this weekend we are bringing our work to our job site."

"Where is our job site?" Ben asked.

"Pattaya Beach," Bright replied. "So be sure to pack some swimwear because after work we will be doing some night swimming."

"Can we not reschedule?" Ben pleaded. "I really can't make it this weekend."

"Why, what are you doing this weekend?" Bright asked.

"I have to attend to something personal," Ben replied, not wanting to give Bright the details.

"Ben, you are an important member of our work team," Bright said in a very serious tone. "You realize that you have to prioritize your work over your personal affairs, yeah?"

Ben's heart sank. How was he going to tell P'Man that their weekend plan was not going to push through?

Ben thought about calling Man before Man could purchase the plane ticket but Ben thought it might be too late to call Man. He might already be sleeping by now.

Ben decided to call him in the morning instead.

The moment that Ben's alarm went off in the morning, he gave Man a call.

"Yes, sweetheart," Ben heard Man's sleepy voice at the other end.
