Third Person POV

"I will stay at my father's place to pass the time until your work hours are over," Man said to Ben. "I don't want to disrupt your routine. But after work, we need to have a long talk."

"Okay," Ben said with a heavy heart. He wasn't sure how their talk would go and it made him really nervous.

Fortunately, when work hours ended, Ben did not have to stay behind to work over time on some stuff. He clocked out and proceeded down to the lobby.

At the parking lot, Man was waiting for Ben. He was standing beside Ben's car.

When he saw Ben approaching, he quickly walked up to Ben and gave Ben a quick kiss and a hug.

"I decided to take a cab to here so that I can ride with you and give you instructions on how to get to my father's house," said Man.

"Why to your father's house? Why not to your unit?" Ben asked.

"Don't worry," Man assured Ben. "Mom and Dad won't be home tonight. They are attending a gala event with their business partners and it will last till the wee hours of the morning."

Ben started to feel very nervous.

Maybe it would have been better if Man's parents were around because if their conversation got heated, Man would keep his emotions in check to avoid attracting his parents' attention.

Ben parked his car in the driveway of Man's parents' house.

Man led Ben into the living room and made him sit on the couch.

"Would you like some coffee or tea or orange juice?" Man asked before walking into the kitchen.

"Any kind of chilled drink will do," Ben replied.

After a while, Man came back with a tall frosted glass of orange juice.

"Thank you," Ben said as he accepted the drink from Man.

Ben noticed that Man was holding a tall can of beer.

"So can you walk me through to yesterday's events at the beach?" Man asked casually, but Ben noticed that his knuckles shone white, indicating that he was holding his can of beer very tight.

"Nothing of interest happened." Ben replied.

"Don't lie to me, Ben." Man's voice became very harsh.

"I'm not lying to you, P'Man!" Ben protested.

"So are you saying that my father is a liar?" Man's voice got harsher with each word that came out of his mouth.

"I think that your father has jumped to all the wrong conclusions," Ben said. "What he might have seen at the beach was innocent but to someone who didn't know the situation it would be so easy to misunderstand just as your father did."

"So explain to me what happened then," Man said, the harshness still evident in his voice.

"Bright and I ..." Ben had begun to say.

"Bright! Why am I not surprised." Man interrupted with a smirk, distaste and bitterness written all over his face.

"Are you going to let me explain or not," Ben started to lose patience.

"Go on, go on then," Man said.

"We were standing beside a rock on the beach when a strong gust of wind blew into our faces and a particle of sand entered my eye," Ben said. "My sudden movement because of the pain it caused my eye made me stumble on the sand, Bright tried to prevent my fall but he lost his own balance as well."

"How very convenient," Man said.

Ben glared at him.

"It must have been during the time when Bright was trying to blow the particle of sand out of my eye that your father came upon that scenario," Ben said. "It must have looked very compromising in his sight, but it was all innocent, I swear."

"Tell me honestly, Ben, can I trust you to stay faithful to me while I'm far away from you and Bright is in close contact with you five days a week for eight hours each day or even more?" Man's voice started to quiver, like he was trying hard not to cry.

"I have never been unfaithful to you, P'Man," Ben said.

But suddenly the passionate kiss he had shared with Bright the night before, rose in his mind and he could not meet Man's eyes, so he lowered his head to sip from his glass of orange juice instead.
