Bright's POV

"P'Man, I still love you very much," these were the last words I had expected to hear from Ben's mouth. But there it was, I heard them with my very own ears.

Suddenly I could not breathe.

I clutched at my chest before I collapsed on the floor.

When I came around, I was on the bed of the company infirmary. The infirmary nurse had attached an oximeter to my left index finger.

"Your oxygen level is a little below normal," she announced to me as she approached me with an oxygen concentrator.

I watched as she attached the cord of the oxygen concentrator to an outlet close to the bed that I was lying on. Then she unwrapped a plastic bag containing a long tube. She attached one end of the tube to the concentrator and then attached the other end that had two prongs to my nostrils.

"This will help to elevate your oxygen level back to normal," she said.

While I was lying on the infirmary bed, my mind went back to the night before when Ben had spent the night with me at my place.

We had kissed passionately that is why I wasn't expecting him to go to Man and tell him that he still loved him. What a wishy washy character Ben is. Maybe it was for the best that we broke up.  He probably would have eventually broken my heart anyway. Well, good luck to Man. He's gonna need it.

After a few minutes the nurse came and checked my oxygen level again.

This time she said that my oxygen level was back to normal but she recommended that I go home and rest for now. She didn't think that it was advisable for me to work today. Maybe it was for the best because I don't think that I could work closely with Ben at this time.

I drove myself home but on the way I decided to stop by the mall where there was a pharmacy. I wanted to buy those packets of powdered Vitamin C and Zinc to boost my immune system.

I was stepping through the wide entrance of the mall when I noticed Win pushing a grocery cart out of the building.

"Win!" I called out to him.

He just looked at me as if he didn't recognize me.

"Win!" I called out again walking quickly towards him.

"Shouldn't you be at work?" he asked, his face in a deep frown.

"I was excused from work today," I explained.

"I have to go," he said, starting to walk away.

"Wait!" I said, grabbing his arm.

"What is there to talk about." he said, fixing me a cold stare.

"I just thought, maybe we could go get a cold drink before you go home?" I offered in a hopeful tone.

"I don't want my head smashed in by your boyfriend." he said in a hostile voice.

"I don't have a boyfriend," I replied.

"Then who ..." he paused.

"Then who what?" I prodded him to continue his question.

"I tried calling you last night but someone else answered the phone," he said. "Was that your ex or maybe your current boyfriend Ben?"

"He didn't mention anything about you calling me." I said, and then realized that my answer gave away the fact that Ben had spent the night with me.

"I really have to go," Win said, moving away again but I stopped him once more.

"Please," I said. "There's nothing going on between Ben and me. The only reason that he was with me last night was because he had drank too much at our beach party. Our group mates at work had a beach party after we had finally completed a really difficult project."

Win stood there, still looking unconvinced.

"Trust me," I said to him. "There is absolutely nothing going on between Ben and me. We are co-workers, that's all."

"I need to unload my groceries into the back of my car first," he said.

Yaaasss!

"Let me help you," I offered, taking over his cart.
