For those who might not know him, his name is Ben Bunyapol. He played the role of Pat in the recently concluded Thai BL series "Step by Step".

Ben's POV

I stretched my arms up and outward upon waking up.

This was my first time in more than a year that I finally got a good night's sleep. I felt so refreshed. The big company that I have been working for has kept me and my team perpetually busy, to the point of having to do all nighters just to meet deadlines.

Thank goodness this was one of the weekends when I didn't have to come to work just to finish a project.

I decided to laze a little bit more in bed before getting up.

I closed my eyes to enjoy the peace and quiet but it was not to be for very long.

My phone started to ring. As expected it was my partner, Man, requesting a video chat with me.

Man has been my partner for the last three years. A week before we were going to celebrate our third year anniversary, his company assigned him to oversee the newly opened hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Man works for a company that owns a chain of hotels not only in Thailand but worldwide.

Ever since he left for Japan, he has called me daily for a video chat. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn't video call me. I'm starting to feel stifled.

"Hey," I say to him after swiping my phone screen.

"Hi, lovey, how's it going?" he asks, giving me a loving smile.

"For once my weekend is free," I said.

"What do you plan to do today then?" he asks, the loving smile still on his face.

"I'm thinking of spending the day at the beach with my work team." I replied.

His smile disappears.

"Does that mean you will be spending the day at the beach with that Chivaree guy?" his face is now wearing a scowl.

"Of course P'Bright will be there! He is the team leader of my group," I reply defiantly.

"Oh, when did you start going back to calling him P'Bright???" he asks, sounding angry now,

"I have never stopped calling him P'Bright," I replied, my eyebrows are now creased in a frown.

I understand why Man is sensitive about the topic of P'Bright. P'Bright was my boyfriend four years ago just before I met P'Man. We were so good together until he met Metawin. I will never forgive Metawin for snatching my boyfriend from me.

"Are you sure that you want to spend your weekend at the beach?" Man's voice broke into my thoughts.

"What else do you suggest that I do?" I countered.

"Go window shopping at the mall, watch a movie, play games at an arcade," Man said, "I can give you a long litany of things that you can do instead of spending time at the beach with an ex-boyfriend."

"He won't be the only one there," I tried to placate his ruffled feathers. "The rest of our team will be there."

"It's so easy to separate from the rest of the team once you get to the beach," Man said, his voice sounding really sad. "But I cannot stop you from going there if you really want to."

"I'm sorry," was all I could say before swiping on my screen to end our video chat.
