So there's this kid who we'll call shit head (I found that far too funny. I'm an idiot.) who sits next to me in both maths and chemistry, and even when he has something he could use to draw a straight line he ALWAYS asks me, the anxious shy girl, for my ruler. And calculator. And whatever else I may have. Then I have trouble getting it back. In the past week he started not even asking anymore, just holding his hand out, and I somehow found the confidence to start saying no. He was laughing to his friends and swearing but at least I felt happy with myself.

So in maths he's started getting his friend, the boy on the other side of me who we'll call shit head 2, involved. So shit head 2 asked me for my calculator in maths and my teacher overheard and said we shouldn't be lending equipment due to the pandemic and gave him a calculator out of our year box of random useful stuff. The lesson after (he had clearly been noticing the ordeal) he asked me if I was ok.

Today shit head asked me for my ruler again. Now, I had already had multiple close calls of almost having panic attacks in German, the lesson before, so I was still on the edge of tears. I started panicking BUT before I had to say yes or no, my maths teacher, who had been over the other side of the classroom, appeared in a second and practically THREW a ruler at shit head, saying 'Don't share equipment!'. And I was so grateful I was struggling not to break down crying for the rest of the lesson.

So yeah, he saved me from a panic attack, and it isn't the first time. He always makes an effort to talk to me even though I'm shy, and he actually makes me laugh and makes me calm. Also he's an awesome no-nonsense teacher and I learn a lot in his class. I used to hate maths but now it's my favourite lesson.
