Dan sat in the all too familiar apartment surrounded by the all too familiar things. Although this was his home and was the same flat as always, it felt empty. No laughter filled the rooms, no content chatter as they discussed one thing or another and, most importantly, no Phil. Dan sat, his head bowed his eyes wet, as the news man reported on the story he dreaded to hear: 'Phil Lester, 31 year old, known on Youtube as amazingphil, drowned yesterday while trying to save a young child. The child, Clara Reed, seven year girl, was found, unconscious on moor head beach and is being cared for in St Andrew's hospital. Phil lesters body is yet to of been found.' Dan switched of the television, he couldn't bare to listen as they turned phils death into a news item.

Dans phone was erupting with texts and notifications as people tried to comfort him but their words all seemed empty. After all, they didn't know how it felt to have your heart ripped out and shattered. Dan looked himself away from the world as he become more and more ghost like.

Two weeks later..
It had been two weeks since phils death and Dan wasn't taking it well. He hid himself away from everyone, only coming out of the apartment to attend phils funeral. Even then, he refused to speak to anyone, there was no closure, the coffin was empty: phils body was never found. Dan hadn't cried. Not proper tears. He was too empty. He forced himself to eat, not for himself but for his friends and fans sake. Although he had removed himself from the outside world, he knew he had to stay alive, the people couldn't take another loss. Everyone worried about him but no one dared to intervene, sensing that he needed some time alone. Louise popped round from time to time to check that he was looking after himself properly, but, apart from that, Dan was utterly alone.
