SYNOPSIS.

A man could – and would – always reject the God and the father but the girl could never escape her mother's rage nor could she escape God. Joanna Hightower learnt that at a young age; when she'd dig her teeth deep in the flesh like a wounded dog wanting their owners unconditional love. She gained nothing. Her brother? He gained everything – power, love, family. He served three kings; he had a wife that was so devoted to him like he was a part of the Seven and two children that adored his entire existence.

And what was Joanna left with? The idea rooted in her existence that she killed her mother? That her mother died screaming in pain trying to push the babe out? To know she will be married to some old Lord like an animal sold to breed? To push out children like a horse to his liking? No. She decided that when her brother took her to the Red Keep. She will not be her mother nor sister-in-law. She will have her blood on that Throne if it's the last thing she ever fucking does.

NOTES:

— she's actually just a tiny bit insane !! No, but seriously speaking, Joanna is a deeply rooted manipulator. She knows how to get everyone wrap around her finger

— she marries Tyland Lannister because she's aware he'll remain inside the Keep even after Viserys dies and he'll remain in the Council. She doesn't love him, per say, but she has a deep respect for him. She thinks it's really easy to hold a conversation with him which she likes. She gives him a daughter that she names Amalia. She also tells him it's the last child she'll ever give him

— her relationship with Otto is a lil bit funky. They love each other because they're family but they simply cannot stand each other. And even then, they heavily parallel each other! I had this idea in mind that while Otto sent Alicent to Viserys, Joanna would've sent her own daughter to comfort Jacaerys in case Rhaenyra would become Queen and therefore her daughter would be married to an heir and she'd have her blood on the throne

— she's also got this love hate relationship with Daemon because does she think he's attractive? Sure! Would she also strangle him if given the chance? Absolutely. A lot of people – when she first arrived at court – thought Otto would suggest the marriage between them but he never did because he was far too aware the king would be left without a brother if he did that

— she's also very similar to Larys Strong because they're both considered masters of whisperers though Aegon (in s2) preferred to listen to Joanna than Larys.

— i also had this idea that she'd allegedly have an affair with Criston but that's just me because the Fabien Frankel brainrot is SO real!!!
