"I love you, Haz. Forever, I promise."

"I love you more, Boobear."

"Impossible."

Louis parked his car, a black Porsche Boxter, in front of the clinic. It was his bi-monthly check-up. He had known for a long time, about the disease. Louis was diagnosed with a tragic heart disease a few years previous, Harry however, had not yet been told.

The doctor frowned and shook his head, mumbling some incoherent words.

"What? What is it?" Louis asked.

"It's not good."

"What's not good?"

"It's just-" The doctor paused and shook his head.

"Just tell me!" Louis snapped, not meaning to be rude, but he was beginning to become frustrated.

"I thought you'd have longer."

"What?" Louis asked, his voice starting to shake.

"I figured you'd have at least a few more years. It seems however, you won't have much longer, a couple weeks at most."

No.

Louis left the doctors office blinded with rage. He didn't really know who he was angry at, not the doctor. There was nothing he could do about it. He was just doing his job. And he wasn't angry at Harry. Never at Harry. He supposed he was angry with himself. I self and his stupid heart.

"Isn't there a way?" Harry asked, clutching Louis to his chest. Louis didn't want to tell him, that's why he spent the past few years pretending it wasn't real. Pretending he wasn't going to die. Because If he told Harry, the love of is life, it would be real. And Louis wanted nothing more than for it not to be real.

"No, Hazza. It's inevitable. You need to accept it." The shorter one responded, trying to stay as calm as possible. He had to stay strong for Harry, one of them had to.

"Let's just enjoy the time we have together, yeah?" Louis suggested. He wanted to stay strong for Harry, he knew that this wasn't good news for him. Harry was always the emotional one, so hearing this must be very hard.

"You said forever, Lou. You promised." Harry sobbed. Louis held him even tighter than before and ran his finger's through the younger one's curly hair. Both Harry and Louis began shaking with tears, and despite Louis' attempts to stay strong, he was a mess as well. So they just sat there, Harry curled on the floor with Louis on his lap, holding him tight. Harry put his head on Louis' chest, listening to the irregular beats of his heart.

"Harry? Louis? Everything alright?" An Irish voice asked from the door of Louis and Harry's shared flat. They were cuddling on the couch, still crying and holding each other.

When neither of them responded, Niall just curled up next to Louis and joined the cuddle, wanting to feel some of the love that radiated off of the couple every day. He was welcomed into the crying-fest and soon had one of Louis' arms wrapped around him.

"I don't have much longer to live, Niall. A couple of weeks at most."

This got Niall crying as well, the three of them wrapped in each other's limbs until they had no tears left to cry.

"Hey, Haz."

Louis walked over to where Harry was standing, looking out the window and wrapped him in a backwards hug.

"Hi, Lou." Harry responded.

"Are you up to a date tonight?" The older one asked.

"Really?" Harry asked, not knowing if Louis would be able to go out considering his deteriorating heart.

"Yeah, it'll be fun. Take out mind off things." Louis said with his cheek pressed against Harry's back.

Louis and Harry both got dressed into warm 'going out clothes' and we're ready to go.

"LouBear? Where are we going?" Louis wouldn't tell Harry where they were going, he wanted his boyfriend to have a good surprise for once.

When Louis finally pulled his car into an empty parking space, Harry looked around to see them at the ice rink downtown. It was beautiful and decorated for the holidays. There were red and green lights everywhere and silver tinsel stretched between buildings and trees. It looked like a winter wonderland.

"Come on!" Louis said, climbing out of the car and walking around to the opposite side to open Harry's door like the gentleman he was. Harry giggles as he grabbed Louis' hand and allowed him to lead the way.

Harry knew this meant a lot to his boyfriend as they hadn't gone out in a couple of days. They spent the whole evening at the skating rink, soaking in every moment, every memory with each other.

"Should we go out tonight love?" Louis asked. It had been a week since the ice rink and Louis' condition was getting worse. He didn't want his heart to be the reason Harry couldn't go out though.

"Or you could go out with some of the lads, I know you don't like having to stay here at home with me." Louis suggested.

"No, I want to spend the whole week right here with you." Harry declined. Louis had at most, a week left and Harry didn't want them to spend a second away from each other's embrace.

"Hot chocolate and a movie then?" Louis suggested. Harry nodded and ran to the kitchen to make the beverages.

When the curly-haired lad returned to the living room, Louis was asleep on the couch, his legs curled into his chest. Harry cooed and set down the steaming mugs of hot chocolate to go and cuddle with his boyfriend. When he wrapped Louis up in his arms, he noticed something. He couldn't hear the familiar sound of the older one's breathing. Harry leaning in closer, his head to his chest. It wasn't rising like it should have been. There wasn't the feeling of Louis' heartbeat in his cheek.

With a tear slipping from his eye, Harry lifted his boyfriend up into his arms and carried him over to their bedroom down the hall. He placed Louis in the centre of the bed, the sheets placed carefully over him. If he didn't know that Louis wasn't alive, he would assume he as just sleeping.

The day had come, the day of Louis' funeral. His body was in an open casket.

"So that everyone can appreciate my stunning beauty." Harry's boyfriend had joked just weeks before. But Harry took the request seriously, so there it was.

It was still an hour until the funeral but Harry was already in the hall. He wanted to say goodbye to Louis before everyone else did.

He walked over to where Louis was laying.

"I love you, Lou. So much. And I miss you even more. I don't know what I did to deserve having you in my life, but I'm glad I did it. I'm going to miss your award-winning smile and your chestnut hair. The way you got mad when I called you short and forgave me right away when I gave you a kiss. The way you ran your fingers through my long hair and called me Curly because of it. I'm going to miss all of you, Lou. I want to be with you again." Harry was in tears, while talking to his deceased boyfriend. He slipped his hand into his pocket and searched until he found the small item he was looking for.

He popped it into his mouth, knowing he would be back with his boyfriend soon enough.

"I love you, Lou." He whispered and payed down next to Louis in the casket.

In a matter of seconds, his body began going numb, the pill worked. He closed his eyes, ready for an eternal life with Louis. The one he'd love and cherish forever.

And when he said forever, he meant it.
