It was colder than Savana expected under the raft. It had rained the previous day, and the water beneath the raft was colder than before. She gazed at the bottom of the raft as she floated on her back. The sound of water hitting the large aluminum tubes echoed. Her mind felt clearer compared to when the sun shone in her eyes. The darkness of the water made her feel calm and safe. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the tranquility of the moment. Savana was content.

There was a big splash. Savanna felt her heart skip a beat and smiled to herself. Several seconds later, she waited for Landon to approach her. Savanna's heart beat faster; she hadn't seen him swim to the surface. He should have come up by now. She swam to the spot he dived into.

Landon waited behind one of the raft's aluminum tubes for Savana to swim up to him. He quietly lowered himself under the water again and swam up behind her. It was like a cat-and-mouse game, with Landon playing the role of the predator and Savana playing the part of the prey. He lightly grasped the bottom of her red bikini and popped his head out of the water. Savana screamed and pushed his head back underwater.

Landon popped up and spat out a mouth full of water. "Hey! What are you doing?"

Savana splashed water on his face. "Don't tell me you didn't touch my ass on purpose."

Landon grinned. "Of course, I didn't mean it. I just wanted to scare you. That part was a bonus, though." He winked at her again, and Savana splashed more water on him.

Landon raised his arms to shield himself. "Alright. Alright! Did you want to do it first, or shall I?" Landon asked.

Savana thought about it briefly and replied, "I'll start."

She looked down at the murky water and breathed deeply before diving. She admitted it was more challenging to descend to the bottom without diving from the raft. As Savana pushed further down, she noticed the water was growing colder. She knew she was getting closer to the bottom from all the weeds wrapping around her arms. When she reached the bottom, she grabbed the mud. She was sure it was just some clay, but it had a weird rotten smell.

Savana swam back up with smelly sludge against her chest. Something stung her eyes when she opened her eyes to see where the raft was. She quickly tried to rub her eyes but lost all the mud she had gathered. She couldn't see anything and knew there wasn't much time left before she needed air again. Panic rippled through her body. She swam faster but didn't know where she was heading.

When the water warmed up again, Savana felt relieved. With another big thrust, she would break the surface.

Instead, she felt her head slam into something solid. A loud metallic sound echoed in the water. Savana realized she had hit one of the aluminum tubes. Her lungs felt very heavy. Panic rose in her throat, and she desperately tried to reach the surface.

It felt like several minutes had passed when she finally sensed the top of her head above the water. The feeling of relief only lasted a fraction of a second. Something pushed her back under before she could even breathe. The last bit of air in her lungs slipped out. She opened her eyes again just long enough to see a shadow move above her. It had to be Landon.

After pushing her limits, she got above the water again. She splashed around and gasped for air. She spun around quickly, looking for Landon, but saw he wasn't under the raft. He must have pushed her down. She felt betrayed and angry. With eyes filling with tears, Savana returned to the raft.
