The thunderous applause for Jimin echoed through the hall, but Jihyun's smile faltered. His brother, was being celebrated, yet a bitter seed of envy sprouted in his heart. Jimin's name rang out, each cheer a tiny hammer blow to Jihyun's confidence. He knew he should be happy, genuinely happy, but the spotlight, so bright on Jimin, left him in the shadows. Jihyun clenched his fists, the applause now a mocking soundtrack to his silent struggle. He forced another smile, but the warmth had vanished, replaced by a cold knot of resentment.
At evening Mr and Mrs. Park welcome him with a grand party for his success.
Confetti rained down like shimmering snow as Jimin, the center of attention, beamed. The air buzzed with excitement, a symphony of congratulations and laughter. Friends clapped him on the back, their faces flushed with pride. Family members embraced him, whispering words of love and encouragement. Even distant relatives, usually reserved, joined the joyous throng. The party, a testament to Jimin's hard work and recent triumph, overflowed with warmth and genuine affection. Every corner held a group sharing stories, raising toasts, and celebrating Jimin's well-deserved success. The atmosphere was electric, a vibrant mix of pride, happiness, and the sweet taste of victory.
Mr. Park grab the attention of the people who were present there.......
"May i have your attention everybody, as you know today my both the son have completed their studies and make me feel proud. and the occasion of this beautiful moment i would like to share one good news with...Jimin!!! come here my child."
Jimin went to his father and stand near by him....Jihyun was standing with Mrs. Park.
"Today i am really happy to announce my son Park Jimin as Managing Director of my company Magnate, and from now he will be the owner of my empire."
The hall erupted in applause, but Jihyun's face twisted with a mixture of emotions. He couldn't bear it any longer. Jealousy, hot and sharp, propelled him to his feet. He stormed out, ignoring his mother's pleas to stop. "Jihyun, wait!" she called, but he was gone. Inside, Jimin's father embraced him, a proud smile on his face. "Congratulations, son," he said, the warmth in his voice a stark contrast to the storm brewing outside. Jimin, basking in the glow of success, didn't notice his brother's departure, the celebration continuing around him, oblivious to the family drama unfolding.
As the last guests trickled out, Jimin's mother approached his father, a worried frown creasing her brow. "Why didn't you give Jihyun anything from the property?" she asked, her voice hushed. "He graduated too, after all." His father sighed. "He's not ready, yeobo," he replied. "Responsibility isn't just about a degree; it's about maturity. Jihyun needs to find his own path first." Unseen by them, Jihyun stood on the terrace, the city lights blurring through his tear-filled eyes. The party's echoes still rang in his ears, a reminder of his perceived inadequacy. Just then, a voice broke through his reverie. "Jihyun?" Jimin called out softly, his silhouette appearing against the night sky. Jihyun turned, his expression a mix of resentment and vulnerability.
"Jihyun," Jimin began, his voice gentle, "I was looking for you. Mom was worried."
Jihyun scoffed. "Worried? Or putting on a show like everyone else?"
Jimin frowned. "What do you mean?"
"The party, the congratulations...it's all fake," Jihyun spat out. "You're the golden child, Jimin. Always have been. You get the accolades, the attention, even Dad's property. I'm just...the other one."
Jimin stepped closer. "That's not true, Jihyun. We all love you."
Jihyun laughed, a hollow, bitter sound. "Love me? You all just pretend. You pity me. You think I'm a failure compared to you."
"No!" Jimin protested. "I'm proud of you, Jihyun. Graduating is a huge accomplishment. And Mom and Dad, they love you too, in their own way."
"Their own way?" Jihyun echoed, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Which means I get nothing. Just like always."
Jimin reached out a hand, but Jihyun flinched away. "Don't touch me," he said, his eyes flashing with anger. "Just leave me alone, Jimin. Go back to your party, your perfect life."
"Jihyun, please," Jimin pleaded. "We're brothers. We're supposed to be there for each other."
Jihyun turned away, his back to Jimin. "Don't pretend you understand," he muttered. "You never will."
Jimin stood on the terrace, his heart heavy. He knew Jihyun was hurting, but he didn't know how to bridge the gap between them. "Jihyun, please," he tried again, but his brother remained silent, his back rigid. Jimin took a step closer, reaching out a hand. "We're family," he said softly. "We're supposed to be there for each other."
Jihyun finally turned, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and pain. "Don't talk to me about family," he spat, his voice trembling. "You wouldn't understand." He gestured wildly, his frustration boiling over. "You've always been the favorite, the perfect one!"
Jimin recoiled, hurt by the venom in his brother's words. "That's not true!" he protested.
"It is!" Jihyun shouted, taking a step back, his foot slipping on the edge of the terrace. He stumbled, his arms flailing, a look of pure terror crossing his face.
"Jihyun!" Jimin screamed, lunging forward, but it was too late. Jihyun plummeted downwards, his scream cut short by the sickening thud as he hit the ground below. Jimin stood frozen, his heart pounding in his chest, a wave of nausea washing over him. "Jihyun!" he cried again, his voice choked with fear. He raced towards the stairs, his mind reeling, a single, terrifying thought echoing in his head: What have I done?
Jimin scrambled down the stairs, his heart hammering against his ribs. He burst through the back door and rushed to where Jihyun lay, a crumpled heap on the concrete. "Jihyun! Jihyun!" he cried, falling to his knees beside his brother. His hands trembled as he reached out, gently turning Jihyun's head. A gasp escaped his lips. Blood was trickling from a gash on Jihyun's forehead, matting his hair. "Oh my God," Jimin whispered, his voice choked with terror.
Just then, Mr. and Mrs. Park rushed out, their faces etched with panic. Mrs. Park gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "Jihyun!" she screamed, her voice filled with anguish. Mr. Park, his face grim, knelt beside Jimin, his eyes assessing the situation. He felt for a pulse, his expression tightening with worry. "We need to call an ambulance," he said, his voice urgent. "Now!" Mrs. Park, tears streaming down her face, clutched at Jimin, her body shaking. "What happened?" she sobbed. Jimin, his own tears blurring his vision, could only shake his head, his mind replaying the horrific scene on the terrace, the argument, the fall, the sickening thud. He knew, with a chilling certainty, that their lives had just changed forever. Jimin said with pain in his voice.....
"Mom..Dad it was not my fault....."
