Chapter 6

Hey, gurls!

I don't have much to say, so let's just jump into the story now.

*Kevin POV*

After school, I sat down at my desk and began writing.

I didn't care what I wrote, I just let my mind drift where it wanted.

When I finally stopped, I looked down at the paper, reading over the ideas.

Among the usable stuff, I found one word written consistently:

Avi.

I frowned.

Why is he so important? It's not like he cares about you anyway.

And yet, my mind kept going back to that meeting in his room. His deep, gentle voice rang just as clearly as if I was back there again.

"Don't go, please.. "

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore.

I got up and pulled on my jacket.

☆☆☆☆☆☆

I appeared invisibly in his room.

He was sitting in a circle with his group of friends, and they seemed to be having an intense discussion.

"I still like the heartbreak idea," said a girl with blue-and-pink hair. I recognized her as Melanie Martinez from my Home Ec class.

One girl with a wig covering most of her face whispered something, and a tall blond boy looked at her with surprise.

"Seriously, Sia?" he asked, and she nodded.

Then she reached into her bag and pulled out a couple pieces of paper, passing them around.

As they looked over the paper, I could tell that this was a first for them: Sia seemed really shy, and I could tell that this was a big change for her.

Avi was the first one to speak.

"Sia... this is amazing."

I couldn't see the rest of her face, but her mouth smiled at his comment.

"Can we hear it?" Todrick asked. (Todrick was in another one of my classes.)

Sia's smile dropped, and she whispered something.

"We won't judge you, Sia," said a dark-skinned girl with curly hair. (I remembered that she was called Beyoncé.)

I could tell that she wasn't sure, but she took the paper and stood up.
Then she surprised everyone by turning around, so that her face was to the wall.

One of the other boys looked like he was going to say something, but then she started singing, and his mouth shut quickly:

"Party girls don't get hurt.
Can't feel anything. When will I learn?
I push it down, push it do-o-own.

I'm the one for a good-time call.
Phone's blowing up, ringin' my doorbell.
I feel the love, feel the lo-o-ove.

One, two, three,
One, two, three, drink.
One, two, three,
One, two, three, drink.
One, two, three,
One, two, three, drink.
Throw 'em back 'til I lose count.

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier.
From the chandeli-i-ier.
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist.
Like it doesn't exi-i-ist.
I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night.
Feel my tears as they dry-y-y.
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier.
From the chandeli-i-ier."

When she was done, she turned back around and sat down.

Almost as soon as she did, everyone started talking.

"That was incredible!"

"Where did you learn to do that?"

"Girl, those high notes!"

For her part, Sia seemed a bit pleased with the reactions.

Then Avi asked, "Sia, do you want us to sing that song with you?"

Immediately, everyone got quiet, waiting for her response.

When she spoke, it was louder than the previous times:

"I can't ask you to sing this with me, guys. All of you are my best friends, but this is something I have to do on my own."

He nodded, and everyone else cheered.

A/N: So, young Sia has found her voice.

But will Kevin find his?

And what about the others?
What will they do?

I'm sorry, but y'all are going to have to wait for that one.

Do y'all like how this is going so far?
Anything you want to see specifically? (Apart from smut; it's not time for that yet.)

Luv you all! *blows kisses*
