Chapter 5
Hey, gurls!
Okay, I have to be honest: I keep expecting to be busy.
But lately, I've had a LOT of time to write.
Shocking!
But anyway, let's keep going on this, shall we?
*Avi POV*
I couldn't explain how I knew.
I just knew that there was someone in my room.
I continued looking over at the chair beside me, expecting someone to be sitting there.
But the chair was still empty.
Then I saw a light shimmer in the chair, in the shape of a person.
The shimmer quickly took form, and before I knew it, a boy was sitting in the previously vacant chair.
His skin was dark brown, and he looked about as tall as me.
I sighed in relief, grateful that I had been right about my suspicions.
"Hi," I said quietly, so that I didn't scare away this dark, yet familiar stranger. (A/N: Subtle Oz ref. I know.)
The boy smiled, and I found myself drawn to the fact that his smile was most visible in his dark eyes.
"What's your name?" I asked.
He looked a bit shocked, as if nobody had asked him that in a very long time.
"Kevin," he replied in a soft voice, almost as if the wind had whispered his name for him.
"Thank you," I said, "For helping me, and for letting me see you."
He nodded, but it looked as if he was afraid he would get in trouble.
Then I heard the front door open, and I heard Dad call "Avi?"
"Up here!" I called back, my eyes never leaving Kevin's.
"Don't go, please," I whispered to him, but he shook his head.
"I can't stay," he whispered back, "I shouldn't have appeared anyway."
And before I could say or do anything else, he vanished.

The next day, I walked to school, a bit sad.
And it didn't take long for other people to notice.
"What's wrong, Avi?" Tyler asked when I joined the group.
"Nothing," I muttered.
Tyler gave me a look, but thankfully, he didn't push the issue.
As we walked to Choir, I found myself looking around the hallway, as if I expected to see Kevin lurking in the shadows, watching me with that glowing smile and mysterious dark eyes.
But he wasn't there.

In Choir, after we'd gone over our songs for our upcoming concert, our teacher, Ms. Michaels, called for our attention.
"As you all are aware," she began, "the Spring Concert is a time for students to show their creativity. So, for the next four weeks, your assignment is to create your own songs."
Her words caused a swell of concerned voices, as well as a few protests.
"They can be done in groups, or you can do a solo," she continued, "but I will expect to hear your songs. There will be no excuses. You are being given plenty of time."
For my part, I was a bit worried. I didn't know if I would be able to make a song, much less be able to perform it.
Then Scott whispered, "Hey, Avi, maybe we could all be in a group?"
I nodded, letting him know that I liked the idea, but I was still slightly worried.
What are we going to do?
A/N: Uh-oh. Seems like Avi has a bit of a problem.
And what do you think will happen with him and Kevin?
Don't worry; a good portion of your questions will be answered next chapter.
In the meantime, what do y'all think?
Also, what songs should I have them doing? (If you need to be reminded of who's in the group, go back to the first chapter.)
Luv you all! *blows kisses*
