Requested- Zak - Straight out of my dream.

My heart pounds as I run through the forest, my legs eating up the distance between me and whatever was chasing me. I can't chance a look back in case I trip so instead I run and put everything I have into keeping myself ahead and alive.

My eyes register the large trees ahead, with large bushy branches that seem to reach out and try to ensnare you into it's grip. Putting my arms out in front of me, I scrunch my eyes and prepare for the impact of breaking through them. But I don't. Instead, I stumble and open my eyes to find myself in a room.

"What the.." I trail off, turning around to assess the place.

The wooden floor matched the walls, all clad in aged wood that looked fit to break. Stepping up to them cautiously, I press my hands up against the wall, trying to feel out a secret door. When the wood splinters, I freeze on the spot, knowing that I couldn't have caused that damage by running my hand over it.

Crack!

I spin to find another large crack, splintering across the wall.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

My eyes are flying in every direction as I try to work out what is happening. That is when I see it... The wall bulging out as if it was containing a large volume of water behind it. My head tilts, confused. A loud crash sounds in my ears,  making me cover them, but no sooner have I covered my ears, I had wished I had covered my eyes.

Fear fills my soul as the walls begin to burst and what I thought was water, turns out to be corpses. In all manner of decomposing..

"No, no, no, no, no!!" I yell, backing into the corner as another wall caves in and more bodies spill onto the floor.

Seeing a set of milky white eyes, I clamp my own shut and take a breath. "It's just a dream, Zak. You have got to wake up!" I tell myself. "Just wake up. Open your eyes and you'll see that none of this exists."

However when I do exactly that, I'm met with even more bodies and the room is slowly filling with blood.

"This is a dream! A nightmare! This isn't real!" I yell, reaching down and pinching my arm. But it has no effect and I'm still here.. Stuck.

As the blood pools around my feet, and the bodies keep coming, I push myself across the room and check the remaining intact wall for a door.

"Come on! Come on!" I plead.

When I fail to find one, I shout in frustration and punch the wall, causing a crack to appear and blood to spill out of it. My eyes widen but before I can prepare myself for what is about to come through it. It gives way and I'm hit back with the tidal wave of blood.

...

My eyes open, the room is gone and I'm helplessly swimming in the ocean. The frigid water makes my jaw clatter and I desperately look around for a raft or a buoy to keep myself afloat.

"HELP!" I holler, hoping someone is out here in the darkness, maybe even looking for me.

I swim in a circle, keeping my neck extended and face out of the water in order to yell some more. Pushing myself further through the water that seems black from the night sky, I look for someone, anyone..

"HELLO?! IS ANYONE THERE?!"

I'm about to shout again, when a soft female voice speaks. "Careful, you'll wake the dead."

Spinning in the water, I come face to face with a woman who is sat on a life boat, only it seems more than that...

Her white flowing dress moves in the wind and her green almond shaped eyes seem to glow in the moonlight.

"W-Who are you?" I ask, swimming forward to grip onto the edge of the boat. "Where did you come from?"

She smiles. "Well you called for me, silly. You wanted my help, didn't you?"

If I wasn't in this situation, I'd perhaps question this woman further, but I don't and haul myself out of the water and onto the boat with her help.

"Here." She whispers, wrapping me in a blanket and smoothing a hand around my face. "All safe and sound."

Lost for words, I watch as she sits back down and smiles at me. My eyes taking in every aspect of her because she is.. Well She is beautiful, not just in the beauty sense, but in the spiritual sense too.

"Are you an Angel?" I question as I take in her long dark hair that curls slightly.

"Why would you think that?"

"Because you don't seem real."

Her eyes twinkle. "Well I am and to prove it to you, you are going to wake up from this dream."

I sit back. "No, no I don't want to. I want to know who you are."

She shakes her head softly. "You'll know.. Soon enough."

"But I want to know now." I insist.

"It's time, Zak.. It's time to wake up."

Her words are soft and I try to argue my case of staying but it fails...

When my eyes open, I find myself in bed, in my home. Sighing, I come to terms with the world and drag myself out of bed, to get a glass of water.

"Pheew. You look like shit." Bacon says as soon as I step foot into the kitchen.

Upon seeing him, I stop. "Why are you in my house? And why are you eating my food?"

"We are heading out today, remember?  I stayed over last night. This is breakfast." He says, wagging a piece of what I think is burnt toast in my direction.

In all honestly, it could be a piece of charcoal, I wouldn't be none the wiser, but that isn't what annoyed me, it was the mess and the other stuff he has eaten. Like the croissants I bought at the store last night, specifically for me, this morning...

The man is a human vacuum hoover.

"You have that dream again?" He asks as I plunk myself down at the island, rather than get that water.

I nod rubbing my face. "Same fucking dream man. Forest, Bodies, blood, water and then she arrives. Like a God damn Angel, sitting in a boat."

"And you still have no idea who she is?"

"Nah bro, she just tells me it's time to wake up and then that's it. I'm awake." I tell him.

The dream has been happening for the past two weeks now, and each time I wake up, I'm more confused. At first I couldn't remember a single thing about her, but as time has gone on, I've slowly been taking notes of her.

"Any new information?" Bacon asks, as if he can read my mind.

I nod and accept the glass of water that he had gotten me. "Thanks man, and yeah.. Her hair, it's long and dark maybe brown or black? But it curls."

"Curly." He says, mulling it over.

"No, no. It curls, only slightly though, you know the surfer girl type curls."

He snaps his fingers. "Beach waves."

"Yea- Wait how do you know the names of them?" I ask.

Bacon shrugs. "Man of many talents."

I ignore his answer and go back to thinking of the woman. I'm both annoyed and mesmerised by her. All I needed was a name. Would it satisfy me? For now, yes.

Travelling has always been pet hate of mine, but for work purposes it has to be done.

With yet another terrible night's sleep under my belt, I spend most of it at the back of the RV, spread out on the bed, hoping to get a nap in. But every time I close my eyes, she is there. This mysterious woman who now not only seems to be in dreams but also taunting me during the day.

"Pit stop!" Aaron yells back to me as the RV stops and the crew hops out to get a cigarette, coffee, food or toilet. Maybe even all four?!

Dragging myself off the bed, I leave the RV with my hat pulled down low, hoping that I didn't bump into any fans whilst I feel like shit. My first port of call, considering how shit I feel, is to get a coffee from the coffee shop. Something I never do, but I need a caffeine hit, desperately.

With my head down, I am bending the peak of my cap with my hand, I turn to head into the shop when I bump into someone, knocking them flying.

There's a yelp, and the coffee they were holding hits the floor, along with a couple of books.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry! It was completely my fault, I'll get you a new coffee, are you okay?" I ask, looking up from the floor.

We both gasp, looking at each other. "You." The woman whispers looking at me.

"You." I repeat, looking straight back at the woman who has been haunting me, day and night. It's like she has walked right out of my dreams and into me.

She is stood here, as I am breathing. Dressed in a long white summers dress, with her hair slightly curly, a pair of sunshades sits on her head, revealing bright green eyes.

She is the first to recover and quickly blinks, crouching down to collect her things. I follow and  collect her books, looking at the titles.

"The Shining and Moby Dick? Quiet the opposites." I say looking at the covers.

It's then that it hits me. The blood coming from the walls is from The Shining, when the lifts open! Moby Dick, the whale attacks and sinks the ship, which would explain how I ended up in the water! Am I having her nightmares? That is impossible.. Right?

"I am reading them both at the same time. Sometimes The Shining can get a little scary at night." She answers, tossing her now empty coffee cup into the bin.

I hand the books back to her with a gentle smile, hoping my dishevelled appearance doesn't scare her. "I'm Zak."

"Nevaeh." She smiles quickly.

"Nevaeh is-"

"Heaven, spelt backwards." She says quickly. "I know. Guess my mom has a sense of humour, huh?"

I smile. "I think it suits you."

"You don't know me.." She responds, her green eyes twinkling.

"Not yet, but how about we change that, when I replace that coffee."

She pushes her lips to the side to chew on the inside of her cheek, the very notion making her look adorable. "I don't know.." She finally answers. "I don't know you."

"Of course you do. Because from your reaction when we bumped into each other, I have a feeling you've seen me before."

Her face pales slightly. "How did-"

"Which is strange because for the last two weeks, I've had horrendous nightmares about bodies, blood and being in the water, when I'm rescu-"

"Rescued by you.." She finishes.

"So I'm right.." I breathe. "You've been having them too?!"

"Yeah, which is why I read Moby Dick to try and calm my mind before bed but it has had the adverse effect..." Nevaeh tells me. "You know what, I think I will take that coffee.."

Relief hits me and I smile. "Okay, okay good and perhaps we can both work out why or how this is happening?"

I open the door for her and smile when she slides past, her hair flicking up from the air conditioning inside the coffee shop.

"Imagine if it was something really weird, like we were soul mates or something?" She laughs.

But when I fail to laugh and seriously consider it, her smile falters. "Maybe I need a whiskey with my coffee..."

Shit, maybe I do too..
