Interview time

"So tell me about this place?" Zak asks glancing towards me.

It's the first interview I've ever done regarding the hotel and I wasn't sure how to put into words of what was going on here.

"So, it was a previous hospital. Which was bought around 50 years ago and the previous owners turned into a hotel because of its location and views of the mountains and the river running out the back."

"How long have you worked here?"

"6 years."

"So you know the severity of this, the hauntings in this hotel?" He asks tilting his head.

I nod "Yes sir."

He smiles slightly "You can call me Zak. Relax."

It's easier said than done when you're working here. For years I've witnessed things I couldn't explain and ignored it. Determined not to be phased by the feel of eyes watching you, constantly.

I glance around the room at the camera and light set up, followed by a few members of the Ghost Adventures crew. Most people would have been star struck by seeing them, and I would have too. If I didn't have to put myself in a vulnerable position by talking about this place.

"The manager, Chris, said you've experienced things here." Zak says pulling my eyes back to him. "More than others.."

They soon travel to the tattoo on his finger as he fiddles with the lapels of his jacket.

"Can you talk about them?" Zak says in a softer voice.

"It's not a good place." I answer quickly. "There's darkness here and I don't think you guys need to be here. Poking whatever it is, with a stick."

"What do you think is here?"

I gulp "Demon. Demons. Spirits. I don't know..."

"What happened? Tell me in your words, how this has affected you?"

I've always been told that the first step is to ask for help, but how can I? When I have no idea what needs to be fought off.

"Let us help you." He urges.

Knowing their history of investigating, I nod. "Okay, umm.. Where? Where do you want me to start?"

"Wherever you feel comfortable." He says watching as I run my damp palms on my jeans.

"I saw a girl. On the landing, I thought it was weird because there were no families checked in. We had single rooms booked for the weekend and I hadn't seen anyone enter with a child. So I went to check that out."

"How did she appear? Was she full bodied?"

"Yeah, she had a white dress on and a ribbon in her hair. So I left the reception and was about to call out when she ran out of sight. I followed, when I got upstairs I found her in the corridor. That's when I noticed..."

"Noticed what?"

"That she was translucent. I could see the ice machine light behind her."

"You could see straight through the little girl?"

"Yeah, it was like a projection, a mirage."

"Then what happened?"

"She told me to run and after that, I did, back to the desk. I didn't move from the front for the rest of the night."

"But your experiences didn't end there, did they?"

I shake my head "I don't know why it happens to me. But I see more than most people. I had a gentleman in room 405. I walked into the bathroom to replace the towels and he stopped turned and rushed me. I screamed and threw the towels down. I haven't been back in there since."

"Tell me about the demon in the basement." He says.

"I can't. It sounds ridiculous."

Zak sits up straighter "Try me..."

"Can I show you?" I ask, trying to find a reasonable alternative.

He nods instantly "Absolutely."

I lean down and pull out a drawing pad from my bag.

"Ahh, I've heard of this pad. Chris told us that you draw what you see."

"It's to try and get answers but I haven't got many yet." I sigh opening the pad and sifting through my drawings. "I draw and then go to find proof. The little girl, I think she was the daughter of the original owners. They look very alike. Her name was Dorothy."

I find the one of the basement and pass him the pad "That is what I saw. Black, razor sharp teeth, horns, tall, very tall..."

"Oh my God.." Zak says before looking up. "Aaron come here and take a look at this."

I watch Aaron leave his spot behind the camera to join Zak in looking at the drawings. I prepare for what usually comes next, the jibes and laughter. The comments of 'Perhaps it's time to see a Doctor about all these delusion drawings, or stop watching so many horror films.'

"Bro.. That is terrifying. You saw this?" Aaron asks looking at me.

"In the basement."

"It's smiling." Zak frowns. "This.. This is serious."

I'm slightly relieved that he hasn't laughed yet. "I think it wanted to hurt me."

"And did it?" Aaron asks as Zak flips the page. I look at the pad and wait as he looks at the Polaroids of the bruises and scratches across my body.

"This attacked you." He says quietly.

I nod.

"I believe so. I didn't fall over, I didn't get into any scrapes. All I know is, I saw that and the next minute I'm out the back."

"Outside?"

"Stood by the river."

"Chris told us he found you, you were stood mumbling. Can you remember what you were say?"

"I don't even remember getting outside. I have no idea that I was mumbling." I frown concerned.

"Can I keep hold of this?" Zak asks.

"Yeah if you think it will help." I tell him. "It's got all of them in there."

He flips over a couple pages before stopping "You saw this too?"

He turns the pad around to show me the page and it's drawing. It's of a Native American mask. "How did this come to you?"

"I was just walking down the hall and it was there."

"Physically?"

"No. In my head. It was a flash image. It freaked me out because it was so fast but I saw so much." I tell him.

"I get those flash images too.." He says laying his hand on the pad.

"What are they? Please tell me because I think I'm going mad sometimes.." I answer quietly.

"You're not. They are images from your minds eye. You're sensitive to what's going on here because you've been soaked in the energy."

"But it follows me home too."

"Attachments do that. I think when you went to the basement and lost that time-"

"Was it a possession?"

"I think something took over your body, but it was only temporarily."

I sigh and look away from him. "What are you going to do, to whatever is here?"

"I plan on kicking its ass out of here." Zak says determinedly. "We don't take prisoners here and that attack on you was cowardly. We have a bishop coming in to exorcise and cleanse this hotel."

"And then it will go?" I ask.

"It will have no choice." He answers signalling to cut the cameras. Billy steps forward and presses a button cutting the small LCD screen off. "Listen, I can see you're terrified of this, but you have to remain strong."

"Do you believe in God?" I ask him. "Seems kinda strange that someone in your line of work would.... No offence."

He smiles "None taken. But I like to think there is something beyond this."

"So do I. Or at least I hope." I tell him.

"Here..." He says reaching up and removing a rosary from around his neck. "I want you to take this and wear it for the next few days. Us just being here is going to stir up a lot of trouble. It's been blessed."

"Oh no. I can't accept that." I answer refusing the item as he holds it towards me.

"I insist, besides, it's a fair trade. I have this pad and you can have my rosary, if it makes you feel better we can trade back before I leave."

I smile at the thought and accept the rosary from him. "Okay. Well I'll keep it safe." I tell him looping it over my head and resting it on my chest.

He nods in approval before looking at the guys. "Lets go kick some Demon ass."
