Prologue

Ghost frowned as he stared out the window in the car. He watched the scenery pass him by out of boredom when there was a sudden tap on his shoulder. Ghost turned his head to look at his brother. "What is it?" He asked and his brother, Prince, laughed a bit. "Dude, we're here." He said and slid out of the van. This caused Ghost to look around at were they were. Prince was grabbing stuff out of the moving truck, focusing on the smaller items due to his patite frame, their other brother, Paladin, was grabbing the bigger and heavier stuff, and their parents were all there as well.

Paladin's mom, Luna, was grabbing the heavier stuff alongside her son. That wasn't surprising though. They were both lions after all. Prince's mom, a cross shifter named Blake, was focusing on the smaller stuff with his son. Also pretty predictable since they were cheetahs. Their dad seemed to have just pulled up in his small black car. He was a human by the name of Clayton Bayers. Ghost got out and went to help with getting stuff inside quietly.

Once things were set up in the main parts of the home, the boys were left to choose and unpack their rooms. Paladin sprung to it fist, picking the biggest bedroom that wasn't the master as soon as possible while Prince complaimed about being shoved around like a ragdoll as he picked out his room, but made a quick assessment. "Hey, dad!" Called the smaller cat. Clayton looked up to his son. "Yes?" He asked as Prince peared down the staircase of their new 1800's Victorian steyle home. "Counting the master, their are only three bedrooms. Will two of have to bunk up?" He asked as Ghost made it to the top of the stairs and passed him.

"Oh, about that. The last owners converted the attic into a livable space. One of you will be taking that room." Clayton called up as he started pressing buttons on his phone. Ghost looked down the hall and saw a set of double doors, behind them were a set of stairs. He figured it was to the attic and walked up lazily. He really didn't care what it looked like. He just figured Prince would prefer an actual bedroom. What he found was a spacious room that was bigger then the master, had a walk in closet, a balcony with a portion that was more like a gazebo, and his own private bathroom. He smirked before throwing his backpack on the ground and heading back down to the second floor.

Prince looked to him. "Well?" He asked and Ghost shrugged. "Dusty, but I don't really care. You can just have the normal room. I can deel with the extra set of stairs. It isn't gonna hurt." He said, not lying since the room really was dusty as hell but, not giving to much away either. Prince just shrugged before disappearing into the bedroom as Ghost walked away with a hidden smirk. Come dinner, everyone at least had their furniture in place. Luna gave everyone their food before sitting to eat her own diner. Clayton was the only one who didn't have meet slabbed up on his plate it seemed. Prince ate his own food quietly while Paladin dug into his like a hog that found a motherload of truffles.

Ghost looked over to Clayton. He always found it odd to watch Clayton's behavior. The man wore dress shirts and worked a rather nice corporate job that payed quite a it and kept him busy. Ghost wasn't sure what Clayton exactly, he just knew that the man only put his phone and tablet down to eat family meals, on holidays, birthdays, and whenever Luna was threatening to do something painful if he didn't come back to earth. It was odd to see only because it was Clayton. After all, one look and you'd never guess that everytime that man opens his mouth the most redneck country boy accent fills the air. Clayton's southern drawl was THICK and was always a shock to those meeting him for the first time because of the way he dressed.

Ghost then shoved some food in his mouth as he thought back on his first day with this family after they adopted him. He was hesitant at first. He really didn't trust anyone but his dead parents bath then. An Orphan who was constantly suppressing his animal due to not wanting anyone to know what his shift is. The Bayer's knew now of course, but they were the only ones and Ghost liked it that way. This was safer.
