(Gonna be a short one, sorry!)

A loud wolf-like howl rang through the forest. It came from the king. The king of all that is wrong.

Loud caws and wings flapping erupted from the trees.

All were large pure-black crows.

The king rattled, it was like a secret language between him and the crows.

Once they finished their strange conversation, the king groaned out in frustration.

He was trying to give the crows something he couldn't get.

It angered him. Failure angered him.

Everything angered him, at least that was what he was always told growing up.

He kicked a rock, then scratched at a tree. The one he wanted was almost in season.
It would be easier for them to raise children.

But he sensed a challenge, a few rivals would question his mating rights over them.

But he wanted to make sure no one questioned his authority, it was his pride and strength. All he could protect now.

But with the need to mate almost starting to happen, he'll need more to save. By that he meant blood.

The moon formed a crescent, a lovely sight for Killer, for them another day had passed.

Though lately they had been having thoughts about something, strangely enough, they had been having thoughts about pregnancy?

It surprised them, for they was young. Though they were able to birth they still considered themselves young.

Strangely enough, every time they had a thought like that they felt a slight presence.
Made them feel safe.

Now that they thought about it, the later the year, the more thoughts they had.

Maybe they did want a child, maybe even a few children. They just needed the right person to help their child-wanting need.

While they walked away from the window, another crow appeared on a nearby branch, it hoarsely clicked at then.

Then, Killer realized. Their need for a child shall finish soon, the one who was with crows.
Was the one they needed.
