I laid down in my bed as the bright full moon shined through the window.
I tried to fall asleep but my mind felt numb.

The only thing I could do was stare outside, I hated it here but still. It's my new home.

Cold air flowed through the window and onto me.
I couldn't bother to cover myself with the thin silk blankets, it wouldn't help anyways.

I forced my weak body to get up and looked outside, I softly smiled as I saw a hint of a foxes tail.
I never got to see a fox before, they always hide deep in the forest to play with nature.

A small flock of ravens flew around a certain area, I looked curiously and noticed Alpa chasing an extremely large brownish gray rabbit.

Alpa ran to the side of the rabbit and once she was in front of the rabbit, she turned around and started charging towards it.
The rabbit barely had enough time to turn around before Alpa caught it, she shook it to make sure the rabbit was dead before placing it back down on the ground and digging into her meal.

The ravens flew down to wait for their turn, I wondered if Alpa ever had pups. She looked mature and wise.
Just like how those wolves in National Geographic look while raising a large litter.

Her jet black fur shined in the night, her tail lifted up in a perfect curve once she noticed my staring.
She lifted it back down and left her meal for scavengers.

I smiled and walked out the door and into the hall that seemed to go for forever.
Once I walked into a candle lit area, I made eye contact with the one I hate.

The king of the castle stared at me.
"Why hello Killer"

I hated my name coming out of his mouth.
"Hello."

The king tapped his candle before responding.
"What are you doing awake at such hour"
He played with the fire of the candle.

"I could not sleep."
I admitted, I turned to leave before he grabbed my shoulder.

"Would you like another blanket? You are new, your body isn't used to the cold."
Generosity? Wow he is full of things I never expected.

I considered it for a moment.
"Sure.."
He handed me a blanket from under the table.

I grabbed it and went back to my room, the glare of the king hit me as I picked up the pace.

I entered my room and laid the blanket on my bed and crawled under the sheets.
The moon became dull as I closed my eyes, dreams of sparrows and blue Jays flooded my mind as slept overtook me.

The sun rose yet only a tiny bit into my window, my body felt warm as I stretched myself awake.

I noticed a dusky purple shirt folded neatly on top of a black pair of pants on my nightstand.

I sat up to stare outside for a moment, it was dim but nice enough.
Getting dressed quickly I saw my jacket, I grabbed it and put it on as a finishing touch.

I got up and left my room, curious upon what this day awaited for me.
