CHAPTER SIX----

PRESENT DAY

"You know this is the first piece of clothing I've ever bought for myself?" Yelena spoke holding the vest slightly away from her, Natasha looked over at the blonde, "That?" Rosalie also looked at it, "Yeah, you don't like it?" she asked, slightly offended looking for her sister's approval. "Is that like a...an army surplus or..." Rosalie rolled her eyes at the redhead, "Okay, it has a lot of pockets!" Yelena exclaimed and Natasha chuckled, "But I use them all the time, and I made some of my own notifications." the blonde scoffed.

Rosalie smiled at the interaction between the two sisters, "Oh yeah?" Natasha laughed, "Whatever. Shut up, the point is I've never...had control over my own life before, and now I do. I want to do things." Yelena explained, and Natasha looked back over at her, "hmm"

"I like your vest." Natasha said, "Ah, I knew it! I knew you did, it's so cool right?" Yelena celebrated, "It's good, yeah. I like it." Natasha smiled, "And you can put so much stuff in there and you wouldn't even know."

"Ya know, Lena." Rosalie started from the backseat, "I have a vest just like that, it's just leather. And it has a lot of pockets." Yelena smiled turning back to face her, "See Natasha, it's so cool."

"I really don't know where the Red Room is though, I'm sorry. " Yelena said solemnly, "I know." Natasha paused, "But I think I know someone who does." Yelena and Rosalie both turned to the redhead in question, "Who?"

"We're gonna need a jet."

----

"I said we needed a jet," Natasha noted as the three of them walked out of the woods into the open field. "Yeah, you know what you didn't give me? Time." he stepped out of the helicopter, "Or money. I'm not made of jets." Mason spoke, "I thought you were supposed to be the best. Like a real pro." Yelena teased, "Oh, I beg your pardon tsarina. Was the free flat and lifetime supply of kissel not to your liking?"

"Ha."Yelena said dryly, "Oh, don't let her wind you up."Natasha spoke, "Rick," Rosalie smiled, "Rosie, nice to see you again." the man spoke, "No, I take an exception when it comes to impugning my professionalism." he huffed.

"Well, you did give me a generator that crapped out after six hours," Natasha quipped, "Oh yeah, and once you gave me a motorcycle that literally wouldn't start." Rosalie added, "Tag team." he pointed between the three of them.

"Aww, he sensitive. I see why you keep him around." Yelena said, walking over to one of the windows, blowing on it. "Where's the rest?" Natasha asked, he pulled out the duffle bag dropping it on the ground, "Voila" he presented the stuff,  "Ooo" Yelena said pulling out a bar, "Oh, I stashed that like five years ago," Natasha warned the blonde, Yelena continued to take a bite, "How is it?" Natasha asked, "Dry. Really dry."

Rosalie laughed lightly, "You act like you haven't done that before." Natasha teased, "Well, what do you want from me, I hadn't eaten like anything, that day." Rosalie defended, Natasha unzipped another bag, tossing a white suit at Rosalie that happened to whack her directly in the face, the brunette gasped, "How rude."

"You know, you're getting dangerously close to running out of your tab." Mason stated, "Supplies I can tally, but you bringing attention from the authorities, all my prices go up." Natasha looked at him, standing up, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Your mate, Secretary Ross, has been sniffing around my affairs, to the point which I've got contacts declining my calls." he spoke, "I'm a private contractor."  Natasha smiled teasingly, "You are sensitive."

"You're a very annoying individual." Mason huffed, "I'll make it up to you." Natasha smiled, that's when the rose charm hanging off of Nat's neck, caught the light. Rosalie couldn't believe the redhead still had it, "Nice necklace." Natasha's face fell slightly, "Oh, yeah..."

Mason glanced between the two of them, "Ok..." he spoke breaking the silence that had formed, "Are you two coming or not?" Yelena asked sticking her head out of the helicopter, "Yeah, yeah." Rosalie said pushing herself up into it.

She took the Duffle bag from Natasha, folding the white suit over her arm, "Bye Mason." Rosalie waved after Natasha was up in the Helicopter, Mason closed the door behind them. Natasha and Yelena moved up into the front of the helicopter, starting to flick switches around, and the brunette changed the bandaging on her ribs, and then pulled on the white suit.

"Switch?" Rosalie asked Natasha, and the redhead nodded, going to change as well, Rosalie pulled on the headset, "So..." Yelena said after a minute or two, "Yeah?" Rosalie asked, "What happened between you and Natasha?" Rosalie pressed her lips together, "Umm, I don't know if it's really my place to tell you,"

"You were together right? Like a couple?" Yelena asked, and Rosalie didn't really say anything, "Ok, I'll drop it." Yelena said after a minute, and Rosalie nodded, "Good, yeah."  After a couple of minutes, Natasha came back up to switch with Yelena.

"You ok?" Natasha asked, "Mhm, yeah." Rosalie nodded, "What's wrong?" she pressed, "Yelena knows." Natasha's eyebrows pulled together, "What do you mean?" Rosalie smacked her lips together, "She knows we were together."

"Oh." Natasha said softly, "You're not mad at me, are you?" the brunette asked, "No, no. Of course not." Natasha spoke, "It's not your fault. We were trained to be observant of these things. Play off of people's weaknesses." Rosalie let a beat of silence pass before, smiling teasingly, "Am I a weakness of yours, Romanoff?"Natasha smiled softly, "You always have been, Barton."

We were flyin' but, we'd never get far.

----

Rosalie felt a certain nostalgia while planning this mission of sorts out,  "Are you sure this is a good idea, Nat?" Rosalie spoke, raising an eyebrow at the red-haired woman who had paused her explanation of the plan, "Nope. In fact, I think breaking 'The Red Guardian out of a maximum-security prison is one of the worst ideas I've had in a long time." Yelena chuckled dryly and Rosalie stared at Natasha blankly, before smiling jokingly, "Eh, can't be bad as that one time you got us captured by those French Agents..."

"I'm pretty sure that was your fault, Barton," Natasha stated, the blonde-haired woman looked between the two of them, "Now, later," Yelena started, "I want to hear all of these stories." Natasha rolled her eyes, and Rosalie smirked, "Oh you know it, 'Lena,"

"The radio is all set up," Natasha announced ignoring the prior conversation, "Today's your lucky day Alexei," She spoke into her comms, Yelena tilted the map of the building towards the redhead, "Move to the door on the South wall."

"This is going to be really awful isn't it?" Rosalie asked digging through the duffle bag of weapons, "Ha!" she dug out the item she was looking for, "My bow," Natasha stole a glance back at the woman, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"Go left," she steered the helicopter more in the opposite direction, "Just don't make a scene," she instructed, and Rosalie stayed in the back of the helicopter, carefully sorting through the arrows, there must have been crashing of some sort from Alexei's side of the radio because soon came another remark from Natasha, "You made a scene, didn't you?"

Rosalie exhaled sharply, this was really happening. She was committing another federal crime. The brunette watched as one of the doors blew off into the snow at least fifteen feet from where it had originally been placed. "Oh look a ton of criminals bursting out of the supposedly high-security prison...this is already going so well." Rosalie noted, "Not helping Rose." Yelena spoke looking for the best way to get to Alexei.

"Go to the upper level," Natasha instructed into the comms, "Move your ass super soldier." Rosalie muttered something along the lines of 'how the hell did I end up here' as she watched Alexei fall back onto his back in the snow, "He's never going to make it." Yelena spoke, "I second that one." Rosalie noted, "Get me closer." Natasha instructed, Yelena and Rosalie both looked at her in disbelief, "Either of you have a better idea?"

Rosalie watched as Natasha hooked herself up to the harness, "Do you have a plan or?" Rosalie shouted over the helicopter noise, "The plan went to shit, I'm winging it." she stated, "Wonderful."

Natasha flipped down landing in her signature pose, Yelena shook her head smirking, "Such a poser." Rosalie smiled at the mark silently agreeing with the blonde, she scanned the mix of guards and prisoners around the area, "Well this surely can't get any worse she muttered hooking up another harness wire, "Where are you going?!?" Yelena exclaimed, "To help!"

"You're just going to leave me here?" Yelena asked slightly offended, "Sorry 'Lena, but I think you've got it." Rosalie shouted before jumping down bow in hand, she removed an arrow, shooting it moments before her feet hit the bridge, it happened to be one of the very handy, exploding arrows, taking out a few men in that direction, "Would you look at that, Artemis back at it again," Natasha noted, and Rosalie rolled her eyes, "I retired that name a long time ago." she quipped continuing to let arrows whisk through the air in various directions.

The open fire on Yelena was not appreciated by anyone, considering the blonde managed to almost take out both Natasha and Rosalie. "Seriously?" Natasha shouted, "Whoo! Sorry!" Yelena apologized quickly, "What are you doing? Are you kidding me? Back up!" the Redhaired woman shouted, Yelena, stuck her thumb up, "We're both doing a really good job."

"And this is why we make more then one plan going into something!" Rosalie added, turning on her heel to release a few more arrows, it wasn't that surprising that the plan went south very quickly, at least not to Rosalie.

It wasn't that she didn't have faith in Natasha's planning skills, it was just the whole situation in general. They didn't have time or much equipment to prepare for this, it really was just three of them against a bunch of criminals, guards, and an avalanche. "What the hell?" Rosalie shouted at the blonde, as the snow started to fall at an alarming rate from the mountain tops, Yelena heard Rosalie's shout and had first assumed it to be about something Natasha had done, but when she turned her head she saw the sight of the avalanche she created, "Woaaah, this would be a cool way to die."

"Tell me that's a good sign for us!" Alexei yelled, Rosalie rolled her eyes, it most definitely was not a good sign. "Move your ass!" Natasha ordered, "Lena! I'm coming up!" Rosalie shouted up towards the helicopter, "You got this?" she asked the redhead not waiting for a reply as she began climbing back up the rope.

"You just had to leave Italy, and now here you are trying to outclimb an avalanche," the brunette muttered to herself, the prisoners below were clamoring about trying to take cover from the quickly approaching snow. "Every fifteen minutes that you're buried under the snow of an avalanche your chances of survival drop 3%, after the first 35 minutes you have about a 37% chance of survival." Rosalie spoke, "You know you're still on the comms right?" Yelena asked, "Damn you and your photographic memory," Natasha added, "Oh crap, sorry." Rosalie spoke quickly.

Rosalie was quite out of breath by the time she made it back into the helicopter, "I really need to start training more often if I'm going to be doing this-" she panted, "I could use some help up here," Yelena alerted, "Right, yeah."

Natasha jumped onto the rope, hanging on for dear life, as Rosalie and Yelena worked to avoid the explosions and quickly approaching avalanche. They took a sharp turn around a collapsing part of the building and Natasha, swung to the bridge, grabbing Alexei's arm, as the snow started to collapse in around them.

"Ha! Yes!" Yelena laughed, and Rosalie smiled in relief, "That was close," she reached over and high-fived the blonde. Natasha coughed, climbing back into the helicopter, "You alright?" Rosalie signed, and the redhead smiled slightly, responding with a single nod.

"Farewell douchebags!" Alexei shouted in Russian, Natasha tapped Rosalie's shoulder, motioning for her to step aside, and the brunette shook her head, brown hair falling in her face, the redhead raised her eyebrows in warning, and Rosalie shook her head again. The silent argument went back forth before Natasha literally sat on top of Rosalie.

The Barton woman pouted slightly, "Non tornerò lì con lui." Natasha rolled her eyes, still sitting on Rosalie, "neanche io" she replied. (I'm not going back there.) (Me neither)
