Chapter Nine 

3rd person pov 

willow didn't know what to do, she knew that she either had to go to the apartment and see natasha or she would have to follow yelena and tell her the truth. she didn't want to do that though,she had to tell her mom because that's what natasha would do if she saw miles wondering around. 

"follow her" clint told her and she nodded as she ran after kate but she stayed far enough behind that kate wouldn't notice her. she decided to follow her because she felt bad. she knew what it was like to be pushed aside and treated as though you were only a sidekick and she didn't want that for kate. 

"this is for me and her, not for you" she told him and he watched her leave. Clint knew that she was mad at him for this because why wouldn't she be? why would he treat kate like she was his partner just to push her aside and make her out to be someone shes not. 

luckily with willow following her, she now knew where the girl lived and she wasn't scared to show up there as she knew that she needed to. in her other universe, she had a mentor, her name was rogue and she was the best thing for willow but she betrayed her as fast as she could and willow had to learn the hard way about trusting people. so here she was, at kates apartment on the roof as she waited for her mom to leave the room. 

once she saw the women leave, she knocked on the window and kate turned to it as willow pressed the button on her suit and made it so the mask came off of her face. she smiled and stared at her before she rushed to the window and opened it

"willow what are you doing here?" kate asked and willow smiled as she swung into the room and went to close the door so her mother wouldn't hear and come up 

"I came to check on you because I know how much this hurts. I get it and it sucks but that's what Clint does, he's a dad so he's gonna try to protect you and me no matter what and he's gonna hurt our feelings, but that's what he does" she stated and kate sighed 

"I don't get it he called his partner, he let me use his arrows, I felt like a superhero for a second, and he ripped it away from me. What am I supposed to do? And I mean, how do you get it?" kate asked 

"kate, I'm from another universe and when I was there, I had a mentor. The way Clint is to you is the way my mentor rogue was to me. For the longest time I worshiped her, and I trusted her, and I followed her every step because I wanted to be exactly like her. And then one day I slipped up and she sent me away and told me that I couldn't be her partner, but I never was so it didn't matter. That's how I get it. And you are a superhero I mean look at what you've done. You're a part of this the same way that I am and Clint is." she exclaimed and kate stared at her 

"it doesn't feel like that" kate said 

"and it won't. being a superhero isn't about wearing a mask it's about helping people and sure me and Clint have more experience than you but that doesn't mean you aren't a superhero. You have experience with villains now." Willow explained and kate stared at her for a second and then she sighed. 

"why do you know what to say and when to say it?" kate asked and willow smiled as she shrugged and sat down next to her. they laid down on the bed and held eye contact as they laid staring into each others eyes. willow reached her hand out to kate and kate grabbed it. 

"when you spend some time with natasha and clint and the avengers, you always know what to say. steve rogers was a very smart man who helped me along the way" she said and kate laughed as she reached up and brushed the girls hair behind her ear and smiled 

"you have some crazy history" kate said and willow smiled before they both sighed and sat up 

"i have to get my stuff from the apartment , come with me?" kate asked and willow nodded her head with a smile on her face as they sat up and left the house heading back to her apartment and walking in. they walked in together and looked around as willow held kates hand 

"kate bishop" they heard and they turned to see yelena 

"Yelena?" willow asked 

"how do you know my name?" yelena asked and willow froze. she didn't know what to say now. 

"I um I worked with oh God, can you give us a second please?" she asked and kate walked off to get her stuff as she kissed the girls forehead '

"so how do you know who I am?" yelena spoke 

"I know why you're here and what I can tell you is that the reason you're here means you don't have to be here" she stated and yelena turned to her 

"what could you mean by that?" yelena exclaimed 

"Natasha is not dead" willow spoke 

"excuse me" 

"and I know that's why you're here because you think she's dead and you have to murder the person who murdered her but she's not. she's actually very much alive and in my apartment right now because she took me in and she's my mom not biologically but you know anyways for whatever reason you're here for and I'm sure that's the reason I can bring you to her and you can talk to her. But I can promise you that she's not I see her every day." she stated and kate walked out and looked at them with a look. 

"everything okay?" kate asked 

"yeah, we'll be fine, i have to do something but ill call you later" she exclaimed and kate nodded as she looked at yelena and then willow, she smiled at the girl and grabbed the rest of her stuff 

"i will wait for you outside" yelena told willow and willow nodded as yelena got up and walked out. willow turned to kate and smiled 

"are you sure everything's OK? Or should I stay with you guys and make sure?" kate asked 

"thank you for worrying Kate but no you don't have to. Everything's OK. I'm doing what I know is right. Call me when you get home safe." willow told her and kate grabbed her 

"do you trust me?" kate asked 

"of course i do" willow said and with that kate leaned in to kiss her and willow kissed her back. her hands reached down to her waist and kate smiled into the kiss as willow did too and they both pulled away not to long afterwards. 

"call me" kate said and willow nodded as she pecked her lips one more time and she left the apartment. turning to yelena standing there. 

"lets go" she told her and yelena nodded as they began to walk to the apartment together. 

willow had only though in her mind at the time though she kissed her , holy shit, she kissed her. what was she going to do now?
